Decided to end 2024 with Fitzgeralds. We did their special New Year's Eve Menu. They definitely had a very serious vibe in there. Our waiter was very pleasant though. Started with the crab cakes which were very good and the sauce was tasty. Then went with the Lobster Risotto and the Flat Iron Steak. The risotto was solid and the lobster was cooked well. The flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and the reduction sauce was fantastic compliment to the steak. We went off the regular menu for dessert and got the chocolate layer cake. This was definitely a cake that was shipped in from a vendor. The cake unfortunately was dry and you could tell it was frozen and defrosted. Overall the was a decent dinner.

Stopped by for lunch with a friend. Their menu wasn't overwhelming but still had many options to choose from. I had the crawfish mac and cheese and my friend ordered the chicken sandwich with a wedge salad. We enjoyed the crab toast for an appetizer and that was my favorite dish. The restaurant is quiet and lighting was dim. Our server was attentive and took good care of us. We ended the meal with their bananas foster banana pudding. It was too sweet for our taste and I wish the chessman cookies were placed inside the pudding and not on top. Overall I enjoyed having lunch here and would return if I was in the area.

Went there with three of my colleagues for dinner. Nice refresh on to old "Oyster Bar" look from a few years back. More upscale feel, a little brighter, great service. Had some crazy deviled eggs up front. I had a double order of the crab cakes with a salad. Others had Gumbo, wedge salads, oysters on the half shell, poached shrimp and some drinks. Old Fashions, Vodka Martinis. All great stuff. But, please get real martini glasses. This is what a martini looks like (see below)

Another great group dinner meeting and experience at the Fitz! Friendly attentive service! The hush puppies are simply perfect - 10/10The New Orleans BBQ shrimp - 10/10Hot crawfish & Shrimp dip served w/tortilla chips - 7/10 only because I'm not personally a big fan of crawfishCeviche Tostadas- 10/10House wedge w/delicious basil buttermilk dressing - 10/10Filet Mignon w/ Bordelaise & Garlicky Green Beans - 10/10 (that sauce is heavenly y'all!!!) If you are someone who doesn't do spice, be sure to ask your server as there is a creole flare to the food. They're very helpful and accommodating. A great place to for for Gulf Coast inspired seafood and steaks, in a comfy elegant environment! There are so many different seating types and options to meet your needs whether going by yourself, a romantic date night, happy hour, family meal, group dinner party/meeting, hanging in the lounge after work, or enjoying music & a meal on the large patio.

My husband and I have standing reservations at local restaurants every Friday night--we love supporting local businesses. We actually live less than 2 miles from the restaurant and have TRIED to love (heck even just 'like') Fitzgerald's, but they consistently come up short on positive dining experiences. We seem to return every 6 months, hoping to have a better dinner than the last-- it's unfortunate that I think our returning every 6 months has now officially come to an end.We dined here Saturday, to celebrate a good friend's birthday-- it was just two couples and we were eager to give it another shot.THE NEGATIVES:* We're not sure why they changed their glassware to kiddy cocktail glasses but do NOT order a cocktail-- you will basically be drinking a tiny version of a normal size drink.* When our dozen oysters were served, we had to ask not just one but TWO different serves for crackers, tabasco, and horseradish sauce-- we were only given crackers and the other requests were ignored.* When dinner was served, one dish was completely wrong. Boiled redfish dish was ordered but blackened redfish was served-- they did say that we could keep the blackened dish but by the time the boiled redfish plate was served, the other three diners had already finished their meals.* We had ordered three sides: broccolini, mashed potatoes, and crawfish mac n' cheese. Again, timing was an issue. The broccolini was brought out with the dinner dishes but the other two were brought out as 3/4 guests were finishing their dinners.* The 14oz Ribeye was WILDLY over cooked. Medium-rare was ordered and attached you'll see the very well done steak that was delivered. They offered to take it back and bring out another steak but at this point, we just wanted to power through and leave.* The mac n' cheese has unfortunately taken a turn for the worst. It was incredibly salty and seems they started adding cajun seasoning in to it-- really terrible. Between the four of us, we each had one spoonful and left the rest.* We are NOT the type of customer to complain because we know the service industry is rocky but when we finally spoke to a manager, she was VERY quick to state, "We apologize, your server has been in training and he's still learning." OUR SERVER WAS NOT THE PROBLEM-- he was respectful, kind, and was NOT preparing our food or drinks. It was the back of the house that was ruining our dining experience.THE POSITIVES:* The wine choice is always great-- not to mention the pours are proper, unlike the cocktails.* Food items that we actually enjoyed eating: the broccolini, the mashed potatoes, and the dessert (banana pudding). It's unfortunate that the sides and dessert were the best items served.* After the disappointing conversation with the Manager, the General Manager approached our table-- he did immediately apologize and accept responsibility for the disappointing experience (oppose to placing blame on our server). Additionally, he did follow up with us periodically during the remainder of our dinner and informed us that he would be handling the bill for us as a result of the poor experience. For the record, we would have gladly paid (as we did eat most of the meal) but we did appreciate the acceptance of responsibility on behalf of his team-- that meant more to us than him comping our meal. The General Manager profusely apologized and in an effort for us to give them another shot, he did provide $20 gift cards to each couple. Should we come back, we may come for their brunch or happy hour but unfortunately, we will certainly not be bringing guests (or dining ourselves) for dinner here again.1 for accepting responsibility of the poor experience1 for our server who remained calm, kind, and respectful despite the multiple disappointing food issues served by the kitchen

If you're looking for a lowkey but upscale feel vibe for dinner, this is the place to be! We dined at Fitzgerald for a bachelorette party and our entire group said it was the best meal of the weekend! Our waitress was extremely attentive and took great care of us. I'm still thinking about the wedge salad and tenderloin!

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous Valentines dinner at Ft. Worth's Fitzgerald's last night. It started with the best shrimp dish I can recall, BBQ shrimp with a BBQ sauce I wish I knew how to make. The second course was their famous wedge salad which was as good as it gets. The main course for me was lobster risotto. I asked our server Lillian if she could see any lobster in it and she assured me she could! Bravo to Fitzgerald's for making the dish with a large portion of lobster chunks!! I was afraid to order it because we had lobster rolls at another nearby very busy restaurant. They were truly terrible because there was so little lobster in the rolls and it was shredded so fine that there was no hint of lobster. Thanks to the chef for making this a very delicious lobster dish. Dessert on this 4 course, reasonably priced meal, was either cheesecake or flourless chocolate cake which we had and was wonderful.I want to mention again our server, Lillian. A delightful young lady who made our evening even more fun with her service and answering any questions we had. The staff at Fitzgerald's is superior. Can't wait to go back soon.
