Ferris Wheelers Backyard And Bbq

We had just landed and wanted to get some bbq before driving south. It looks like we arrived after a busy lunch time for them so perfect timing I would say. Staff was great and pretty much had n empty restaurant. The food was good and didn't take long to come out. My son ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwich with BBQ Mac & Cheese and I ordered their Chopped Brisket sandwich with elote as my side. Both sandwiches were really good. Very filling and priced fairly. The brisket had a combination of lean meat as well as plenty of fat not too much. The sides were also really good. I can definitely see myself returning if I'm ever in the area.

The wife and I attended a concert here on a Sat night. While there, I said "HEY, We should try the BBQ!". Went inside since it was a little chilly and figured the full menu inside would be better to choose from. I ordered the Trinity which come with brisket, a sausage, a couple of ribs and one side. Well, man, what a disappointment. The brisket was incredibly dry, the Mac n cheese is covered in BBQ chips and just not good. BUT, the worst part...as I brought a rib up to my face to eat, I thought, well that's a strange smell. I asked my wife and the a server to smell and we all agreed that the ribs were rancid. I pulled one apart and the color was just....strange..red but then splotches or brown. So, dry brisket, rancid ribs, funky man n cheese. The food was just pretty awful. I will say that the sever was very accommodating and offered a full refund. I went up to the front to discuss with the manager and another gentleman walked up with the same complaint (at least I knew I wasn't off base). The manager was less friendly than the server and made up some excuses about getting out master to check the situation and how swamped she was. BTW, on a busy weekend I might there was no smell or visual of smoke anywhere to be seen. I think this is a place for out of towers who happen.to be staying in a hotel nearby. I cant see any Texan recommending this place. The little concert venue out back is pretty cool if you want to see a show/grab a beer but for all that's holy don't eat the food.

Let's call this a 3.5 star rating. Service excellent. Food good. Atmosphere adequate. Prices reasonable. Super nice and helpful wait staff. They were prompt and checked in often. Beer was ice cold and fresh. I had the two meat dinner with sausage and spare ribs. Everything tasted great but the ribs were served at room temperature. I visited on a Saturday evening around 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty, just myself and about four others, even though the neighboring restaurant was packed to overflow. I'm not sure why they were slow?They have an actual Ferris wheel outback, but it's not something that was open or running on a cold January evening. The interior is just concrete floors and old diner style tables and chairs, with a couple of park style tables for a larger group. Functional.I think a lot of their business must now be fulfilling online orders. They're certainly not attracting a dine in crowd.

Music event was so fun. Festive lighting and roomy seating outside next to the Farris wheel!

I should open with BBQ places are not always my thing since I don't eat beef or port. Alright, yes, that's a horrible thing in TX, but the group I was with wanted BBQ and since I'll eat chicken or turkey I figured why not. Well, while they had turkey on the menu they were apparently out of it for the day - which was pretty odd given we were there early, but ok. So that was the start, then they kindly(?) informed me that they would have it tomorrow, well sure, fine, but also not helpful given I"m there tonight. This left me somewhat puzzled, and so my next approach to the menu was "do you have the chicken wings today then?" and they said yes. Ok, great, I can do that - I tried to ask if they were enough food for a meal since they were listed as an appetizer and just got a confused look. I gave up and ordered them anyway.It turns out they were plenty of food and pretty tasty. The meat tasted smoked. My colleagues thought their meals were decent but perhaps not as exciting as they were expecting. Perhaps I threw the server for a loop when I told her I didn't eat pork or beef or she was having an off night. Anyway, I'm not sure I'd be back without checking to see if they had turkey first!

While staying nearby I wanted to ensure I enjoyed some TX BBQ while I was still in Texas, so I checked reviews and came here. Service was very friendly. The selection is typical of most Texas BBQ joints, both the proteins and the sides. The gimmick here is the yard out back with the Farris wheel, but the reviews also indicated that the BBQ was pretty good too.The brisket had an amazing bark... nice flavors, definitely seemed like just salt & pepper. It was moist and perfectly smoked as well.The sausage was more like a fat hot dog, not very smokey either and on the bland side for a TX smoked jalapeno sausage. The pork was outstanding! Moist, very flavorful and nicely smoked - Definitely enjoyed it!Regarding the sides, the fried okra was decent, the potato salad had a decent flavor but the textures, the huge chunks of potatoes, and the lack of the sauce melding properly with the potatoes really left a lot to be desired. The beans were incredible! Nice, smoky, meaty, and tasty! The mac & cheese looked good, but I didn't try it, my friends did and they really enjoyed it.Their sauces weren't very good... not bad at all, just bland, no heat also. I think one was mustard in style.Overall, not a bad visit. As you'll see from the pic, we tried a large assortment of everything and it was definitely enough to feed 4 - 5 people. In our case we were a part of 3 and there were lots of leftovers. In all, this entire meal came out to about $115, which was a great deal too.

Very affordable and very different environment fun and cozy and super yummy food. Highly recommend

The service was good and the employees were nice and chill. The food? Meh. I shall elaborate: Brisket sandwich: meat was really dry, like it was sitting under a heat lamp all day. I added all the BBQ sauce provided and inundated that sandwich with maybe 15 slices of pickles. Baked beans: got a huge blast of onion powder flavor when I took my first bite. Second flavor that hit my taste buds was a heavy dose of sugar. However, the beans did have a lot of brisket stirred inside, which was a nice unexpected surprise. Elotes: about what I expected, maybe a tiny bit too much sour cream, but I could have easily scooped that out if I needed to. I ate all of what I was served, so clearly it meant it tasted good Mac & Cheese: the pasta used was pinwheels, which was a cute reference to the restaurant name and the Ferris wheel at the back patio. I liked that the pasta was topped with a crunchy bread crumb topping, though the actual cheese sauce could have used some more depth- maybe some more salt and/or Dijon mustard.

Went for dinner and a concert last weekend. Unfortunately, husband and I were not impressed with the food. We got the Holy Trinity- ribs, brisket, sausage, and green beans. Like one other reviewer said (from the same night), the ribs were awful. They had a funky smell and did not taste fresh. The brisket was really dry. Sausage was good. The green beans were drenched in a bbq sauce and really mushy. I was hoping for fresh green beans to balance out the heaviness of a bbq meal so that was disappointing. The sauces were pretty good. Maybe they were just having an off night, but we won't be returning.

Food was awesome who someone from Hawaii. Waiter was very friendly and on top of it. Recommend on mondays for happy hour.
