El Patron Restaurant & Bar

Had dinner here, and out of a table of 4 people we were all really impressed with the food. Nobody had a bad dish. The tacos al pastor and asada were both incredible, especially with the avocado jalapeno sauce. The flautas were really good, and a really large portion (three of the largest flautas I've ever seen). The fajitas were terrific, with beef and shrimp that were juicy and well seasoned. The chimichanga was enormous, and it was available with a wide array of meats including the same amazing pastor used in the tacos. The only fault I can find with the restaurant was that the service wasn't the best. The waitress spoke English but not well and we had a few misunderstandings, but the manager was on top of it often coming over to clarify if necessary. Honestly, though? I would endure being actively yelled at while I ate my food for more of those tacos (not that that would happen here). This place is worth it. Plus it was pretty cheap, especially given the portion sizes. I will absolutely be eating here regularly and I hope that get all of the business they deserve.

Craving Mexican and wanted to try a new local Garland/Plano establishment. They supported masks and cleaning to keep all safe. It was around 2 so no problem social distancing. Betty waited on us she spoke English and was a delightful person. We shared queso and beef fajitas, both where very flavorful. Only reason not a 5 is they do not make their own tortillas. For some authentic Tex Mex El Patron is a place to try. Forgot to mention homemade salsa was garlicky and just the right heat.

This has become a great family place for me and my friends to meet for a beer and some great food - stop by and give it a try and I am sure you will also love this place Daniel Long

Stopped in for a beer because it was close to our hotel. Friendly staff at the bar and plenty of room. Waitress did not speak English but we knew enough Spanish to get by and the Manager was quick to jump in to help when needed. We snacked on chips and salsa, had a few beers and ordered combo fajitas for two to-go. We got to the room and were shocked at how much food we had. It was two boxes full of meat and two boxes full of the set up/sides. Easily could have shared one order but hey, we got great left overs out of it! All and all great little spot and would do again any time.

This place has a good atmosphere but the food was horrible. Am so so sorry to say that. Had great expectations. The queso seems to be from a can. You are also charged for tea refills (same amount as a new glass) - the grilled chicken from the fajitas is the only reason they have a one star everything else is a no. The beef fajitas is not skirt steak but beef pieces.

I wanted to give this place a chance, despite the not so good reviews, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment The service was not good at all - our waitress would sit at the table next to us and play on her phone instead of checking on us. She brought to-go boxes after we flagged her down, but never brought our check until we had to finally flag her down again. It was barely even busy (maybe 2 tables total in the place including us), so no excuseThe food was ok but not great - the chicken was in chunks and not shredded, so kind of weird. We were hungry so we ate it but it wasn't worth the price. They gave me a very tiny portion of pico...and they didn't have charro beans which is odd for a Mexican restaurant in TexasThe margarita was a decent size for $8...I think that was the only high pointOverall, despite really wanting to like this place and support a local business, the very poor, inattentive service and mediocre food leads me to suggest you find elsewhere to dine out

I had order the parrillada mar y Tierra it was actually good my girlfriend order the chimichanga bistec and it was good soon as we got our food waitress didn't show up no more I was dry in the throat bad customer service would've left a good review but no good customer service

Pretty good little Mexican restaurant! Taco salad is good. Salsa isn't my favorite which is kinda a make it or break it most the time but the chicken is amazing

Came in to pick up some food after work. There were kids all over the place & in the kitchen. The kitchen staff came out with a kid in his hands then went back to prepare the food without washing his hands. Got my food (oysters and shrimp cocktail). The shrimp cocktail was decent, but the oysters were spoiled. Very dangerous & unsanitary.
