My original review was supposed to be for this place and not the other Paisano's, right next to this place. We have never been disappointed with these tacos, rice and beans and guacamole. In my opinion these are some of the best tacos in the city and their salsa is the bomb, it has great heat.

This restaurant is usually always packed, no matter the time of day. Parking can be a bit difficult if you come during a busy time but there are spots behind the restaurant that you can park at. They bring out chips and house made salsa while you wait. The salsa is really good and has a great kick and spice to it. I usually order the beef fajita tacos on corn tortilla with cilantro and onions. Sometimes I'll order an al pastor if I'm in the mood for some pork. Tacos here are pretty good but the corn tortillas tend to be a bit on the oily side with the way they cook it up. I also wish the meat was cut a little larger instead of being diced/minced to almost a ground beef consistency. I found it a little odd they brought out lemons with their tacos instead of limes. Limes are a staple in Mexican food so I'm not sure the reason for the use of lemons here. They have red and green hot sauce. Green sauce is mild and the red sauce is super spicy, beware!! Delicious, but very hot! Their tacos are good here but not the best I've had. However, I always do leave full and satisfied. It's cash only here so make sure you stop by the ATM beforehand!

I'm rating my overall visit. If you are like me and have been coming here for the pass 18 years you know this place has always been packed and tacos are amazing! BUT after today I most likely won't be back. Reason 1 - taco prices went up to $2.29 each. Seriously?! I tacos are small and I don't mind paying $1/or 1.50 but it seems after COVID they want you to pay for all the paper plates they having to use. Reason 2 - they used to give you free chips and salsa, now they want to charge you $5.50 for small and $10.50 for the large one! Reason 3 - they give you a tiny little salsa container for 5 tacos! And when I asked for another one (perfectly the red one that comes with the chips) they wanted to charge for it. Seriously ? I spend $30 for small little tacos plus tip. The yummy tacos that I loved so much from this location are not worth the price anymore. I won't be coming back for sure.

This place exemplifies one of my favorite recipes...Great People serving up some great food for a great price. What is not to love about that? When you are seated, you are served chips and a cauldron or warm salsa. I love me a place that serves warm salsa, you are in for a win when that happens! My go-to here is the beef fajita tacos. They are served street style, on corn tortillas with a cilantro and onion mixture along with grilled onions. I have had beef fajita tacos in a lot of places and NONE of them have matched the quality and taste of these. It usually takes about three of them for me to call it a lunch, but several of my friends who come here eat 4 and even 5 of them. The service is always spot-on. Sometimes they don't speak English so well, but we are always able to communicate well enough for me to order and be happy!

Overhyped tacos. Bad rumors. Greasy tortillas. I've been going to this place for a couple of years now. It definitely has the potential to become an authentic Mexican restaurant and maybe it was at one point. It is not at the moment. It is the equivalent of something taco cabana and Taco Bell may have conceived. The sauce is good, simple but spicy- which is what I personally like. The tacos are very small for their price. It isn't the atmosphere that is unpleasant, it actually quite nice, so is the service. The tacos however, are very overhyped. I know countless places that have better tacos and I can tell you this doesn't make my top 5. Avoid it if you can, if this is your only choice, go ahead. Get ready for that heartburn and headache due to the excess grease on the meat and tortillas.

I think the taco game in Dallas is like the pizza game in NY. A lot of good options. That being said this one is top 3 for me. The chips and salsa might be the best I've ever had. Ok atmosphere nothing fancy. If you just want good tacos look no further

This is definitely an authentic Mexican restaurant. Not Tex-Mex! Entrees were in the $10-$16 range. Not much on chicken, not even fajitas unless you got them with with beef and sausage. They do have quail. No iced tea, canned soft drinks, jarritas, or horchata. Save the air fare, just eat here instead.

I drive from Irving just to have chips and salsa and there barbocoa tacos. I was very disappointed tonight. The tacos were cold and I don't know there was something different about the meat. I am very, very picky about barbocoa tacos. This had been the only place I would eat barbocoa. Not after tonight. Since when did they charge for chips and salsa. I know for a second order they do but now you have to order chips and salsa. My husband never complains about anywhere we eat. He even agreed something was different about the meat. We left disappointed. We most likely will not be back since they are charging $5.50 for small chips and salsa and $10.50 for a large order. If the barbocoa isn't worth going back for and they are charging for chips. You have lost a customer.
