El Carlos Elegante

This was my second time at El Carlos Elegante and I had a wonderful time. I loved their rustic chic ambiance, thoughtful service, and delicious food. The music was not too loud so we could enjoy our conversations. The low lighting added an alluring charm, making it perfect for a birthday celebration. For drinks I had the Jamaica Mezcal and it was delicious. I would definitely get that again. We also paired our food with two types of wine and both were great!We started with the salmon ceviche which was beautifully plated and perfectly balanced. The oysters had a lovely added flavor which made them even more delicious. The beets were vibrant and had unique flavors. El machete was perfectly cooked and the pork al pastor was very tender. The halibut had a tangy sauce that elevated every bite. For dessert, the key lime was tart and refreshing and the Brunelo was indulgent. Their attention to detail and thoughtful service made this an incredible dining experience. Can't wait to return!

Modern, eclectic, but still an elevated rustic vibe. PRICE: I don't remember, on the pricier side but you will be full! WOULD I COME BACK? Yes!!****Overall Rating: 11/10- I now see what the hype is about this place. It's absolutely phenomenal from their service to ambiance to the food itself- it's beyond perfection. - The quesadilla looking thing at the end is called the "el machete" because of the little machete they use. I can't remember what meat it was either pork or beef but yall... it's so juicy and flavorful. I thought it wasn't enough food but tbh the richness from the cheese and meat made it a great amount of food. - The one hitter threw me off bc that whole part of the menu is single item only but it truly is a bite sized portion of food that is completely worth the money. They layer the flavors so well. - The salmon ceviche was amazing but I would try something else. This restaurant is really good at every dish so you gotta come back and keep trying new things. - Drinks were strong and great. I got the mocktail and it wasn't too sweet at all.

where do i start with el carlos elegante?!?!??? 1.they are michelin nominated for a damn reason2.every single dish was a 10. 3. the service is phenomenal!!!! this place is a part of the charles group, so expect top tier service, high quality dishes, and nothing short of an amazing experience. the only thing i wish is that they sat our party at a table and not a booth because there were six people in our party and they put us in a booth. just my personal preference, no one in our party complained. but everyone in our party definitely enjoyed their food!! everyone left extremely impressed and wanting to return. i wouldn't call the decor extremely trendy or cool, but honestly that doesn't matter when the restaurant is serving food as high quality as they are!!!! this is a place you go to just because-date night- go girls night - gogood day - gobad day - gosun shining- goraining out- go hurricane- go (the best last meal ever )i am 100% a fan. without a shadow of a doubt i will be going back !! have fun!! bon appétit

Overall experience was great, service was excellent. I really loved the interior design and overall feel, however it was a little loud in the area that we sat in. I did the tasting menu, while the food was very good it did not blow my socks off.

I had a fantastic experience here for my birthday. We did the elegante experience and it was well worth it! The service was attentive. The ambiance was nice and moody and the food was very tasty!

Interesting vibe with old school Latin feel- menu was creative and delicious. Service was a bit strange- friendly at first but then a little blunt and short with us as the night rolled on- All of our menu choices were beautiful- tasty flavors. Cozy and intimate- real tight seating, but kind of romantic and dreamy. They offer some sort of jicama and dip station as a palate cleanser but a little small to share. The salad was really out of this world- my favorite. Kidos to the chef and crew for creative and delicious dishes. Pricey- portions are meant to share- We were celebrating a birthday, some mix up with desserts but they rectified the situation. Good food for sure.

El Carlos Elegante has been high on our list for awhile now after hearing countless excellent reviews and of course knowing how well the Duro group does things! Husband and I chose El Carlos Elegante for our NYE evening, and so glad we did! There is valet parking or street parking around the corner. The vibe is swanky and cutely done. Felt like we were back in CDMX. The service was excellent, he was super friendly and helpful as first timers. He jotted down our names and referenced us by name throughout, a super nice and personable touch. Items ordered: One hitters (surf + turf, garbanzo sope, brisket, and crab cake), Beets, Broccolini, Squash Tetela, Guajillo chicken, mexican chocolate and Bunuelo. In short, everything was incredible and the vegetarian food was flavorful too and carnivore husband approved! The one hitters were a perfect way to try everything without filling ourselves up too much - our favorites were the brisket and garbanzo sope. Super flavorful for such a small bite. The squash tetela was incredible!!! The homemade, hot masa was perfect, the hummus was unique.. we could hardly tell there was no cheese. The chicken was soft and cooked to perfection, but the real star of the show was the mole sauce.. just WOW. The only item we didnt love was the mexican chocolate, it was too decadent for my liking and felt like a very thick, dense chocolate ice cream. Just not my cup of tea, but try it for yourself if it fancies you. Thanks El Carlos Elegante, we will definitely be back!

Coco Loco, Salmon Ceviche, Tijuana Caesar, El Machete, Guajillo Chicken, Pork Al Pastor, Charred Beets, Okra + Shishito, Mexican Chocolate, Key Lime Pie-ishAbsolutely phenomenal. This may have been the best meal I've had at El Carlos thus far! We were seated in a lovely airy private room adjacent to the private room we usually use, and I think i might even like this one better! The Coco Loco drink was delicious. Every dish they brought out I've had before, but somehow everything was done better than ever, fresher and more savory than ever. I don't understand how they make everything so perfectly, and how they make shishito peppers and okra the star of the entire meal somehow! Absolutely delightful. They even brought us out a surprise extra dessert that was phenomenal!

We had a great experience for dinner here. The atmosphere is so cool, I loved the decor. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, he checked on us frequently and gave us great recommendations. We had the one hitter taco. It was good, but sooo small. The duck confit masa was our favorite. It was a huge portion and the cherry mole was unlike any mole I've had before! The okra and shishitos were also very good. The pork al pastor was good, I wish it came with more pineapple slaw! Definitely share plates here. Only complaint was our drinks. They took forever to come out. The restaurant was busy but not full. My second drink didn't come out until we finished our meal... other than that we will come back to try other things on the menu!

Fun small plate group dining experience. The tequila and mezcal selection is top notch. Fun decor and vibe. The menu is curated with select options that allow both pescetarian and general diets to be accommodated. The noise level was appropriate and still allowed us to have lively cross table dialogue. The servers were kind, attentive, and made good suggestions for tequila. I would return with a group who likes to try new innovative places.
