I bought 4 Groupon offers to this class as a present for my parents when they came to Dallas. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to use them, but after putting it off until a week before the expiration, I finally rounded up a crew to go with me. We stopped at Eatzi's on the way to pick up wine for the girls, beer for the boy, and snacks to nom on. The building was hard to find, because it was not well-lit in the front, but it will probably be the only storefront that is lit at all. We walked in, threw our drinks in the fridge and got to work sorting through all the books of idea paintings. I have never considered myself very artistic and was pretty nervous to pick something out and completely butcher it, but I found something that I thought I would probably buy if I saw it in a store and went to work. This was one of the most fun random Friday nights I have had in Dallas. Susan was fantastic and helped us all try different techniques and ideas. We made friends with the other parties there, both young and old. And all of our canvases turned out so well! All of our different styles came out clearly with art that we can all definitely hang on our walls. We will be back here for sure!

I came to E Gallery Studios after purchasing two Google Offers for their 3-hour BYOB painting class. You are actually allowed/encouraged to bring beverages or even snacks. Scheduling was very easy via email. I attended the painting class with my sister. What makes this class unique is that each student (about 10-12 students in the class) chooses an image (many provided at the beginning of class) or brings their own to use for inspiration versus the step-by-step group format. The instructor, E, was awesome and gave individualized advice on how he would go about executing the painting and was really patient with beginners (like me). There are a variety of acrylic paints and tools (brushes, knives, etc.) at students' disposal. A few pointers: bring low-maintenance beverages and snacks, wear clothes you don't mind ruining, abstract images seem to be the way to go, and have a great time.

This has got to be the coolest place on the block! I attended a painting date night session last night and absolutely loved it!!! Emil and Wendy (the owners) have the best time working with the group and explaining how the art works. I think this is a great venue for hosting private paint parties and for art sessions. We used acrylic paint last night and he also has oil available, they actually glaze the art and allow you to store there to dry! worth a night there with friends!!!!

My wife and I went in tonight to have a painting night, kind of a date night for our anniversary. E, the owner, told us he had a party of 6 just cancel on him and that we were the only ones for his class tonight, but that he was glad to hold the class with just us. He was a fantastic supportive teacher and we both had an amazing and creative time. My wife noted that we had stayed over an hour after the class was supposed to end and he hadn't said a thing. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. It's probably the first place in Dallas to make me want to instantly jump on yelp and give 5 stars.

Casual and comfortable. Emil, the artist, is personable and helpful in the design process, offering suggestions when needed. Diverse selection of art materials. BYOB art class bought on Groupon. I will definitely be back, especially because he is honoring the $30 Groupon deal for me and my friends for future visits. One thing I would do differently is look up designs before I go. Find something that you want to draw inspiration from before you go. Fun environment. Can't stress enough how much the artist's personality is benefiting the business.

This was a very positive and fun environment to be in. It made my week! My friend and I went on a Wednesday and the class was supposed to run from 6:30-9:30, just like the other reviews say, time was not pressing. Thankfully, the owner mentioned that the most important thing to him was, "you have fun and are able to take home a painting you want to hang on your wall." He was very supportive and open minded. I was able to enjoy myself and smile at the piece when done. Highly recommended for any level artist looking to try something new, affordable, and entertaining.

So much fun! Purchased a groupon for two, went during the Christmas holidays; was only one other group there with us, which did not take from the experience at all, and had a blast! Will definitely be back, and hope to host a party or two there!
