Dream Cafe

The location is in the heart of uptown. Easy to find, and there is plenty of free street parking around the perimeter. There is a parking lot but you have to pay for it. The restaurant is very quaint, modern, fresh. The staff was sweet, and helpful, although they did take a long time to get us the check at the end.The best part of this restaurant is they do cater to vegans and people who want to eat healthy when going out. I ordered an oatmilk chai latte with whole grain pancakes, and hashbrown. The latte hit the spot instantly! The hashbrown was Heaven- it was a perfect mix of soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. The pancakes in the otherhand were a bit heavy and bland, nothing special. Of course we have to consider i am getting the healthy pancake, it's not going to be the most delicious in the world.I will definitely come back for brunch again because they offer vegan dishes, The place is cute and the staff were respectful!

The mimosas and Monte Cristo are the way to go. And I recommend adding bacon. YUM!! Also, the host and waitstaff were so sweet!! Plus, it is such a bright space that you can't NOT be happy there. One thing I was surprised by was the popover that I'd seen rave reviews about. We tried it with the strawberry butter, and it was meh. I would not order the popover again. But everything else was very good.

New to the neighborhood, my gf and I discovered this brunch spot about two blocks from our place. As a lover of pancakes, we definitely had to check it out after seeing reviews. I made reservations for 9:45am as I read that it could get pretty busy. We arrived and were immediately greeted warmly and lead to our seat. The decor is bright and airy. It actually feels a bit dreamy. We sat at table in the rear and quickly thereafter our waitress arrived. She was so nice and bubbly; offering suggestions and answering any questions. My gf ordered a latte and I ordered a mimosa of course! Both drinks were fresh and good! For brunch; the cloud cakes and strap hanger with bacon. Everything was hot and cooked to perfection. The cloud cakes were different.. in that they were more on the flat side vs fluffy. But they were really good. I loved the buttered-jam that came with the toast as well. All in all Dream is a solid spot and we'll definitely be back!

This restaurant was decent great customer service. The food is OK and I love the theme and ambience of the restaurant.

An overall okay experience.A party of 3 and we were all seated quickly. It was mid-morning on a Friday, and there was plenty of seating. Our waiter was so sweet and cared for our table. The coffee had good flavor but was just lukewarm. Someone ordered the Hippie Cakes, and they were very dense - seemed to be undercooked? Someone else ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. It was so much food which was great! The biscuit was so so so good! Homemade and moist! Didn't crumble out of my hand. The steak was a bit overcooked and the hash browns were undercooked, just a bit cold. My burrito was great though! Each bite had bacon and hash browns. There was plenty of cheese too. I do wish the scrambled eggs were a bit less browned inside.It also took a very long time to get food. Thankfully we had coffee and conversation. But if we were in a hurry, it wouldn't have been great. Everyone on staff was so, so friendly though. It felt like an inclusive and safe space.I do think with less options on the menu, they could highlight and shine through a few dishes.

Came on a Saturday during brunch time and thankfully had no wait times. Our server was amazing and continuously checked in on us and fill up our water cups. I ordered a small grapefruit juice and monte cristo and my boyfriend ordered the eggs Benedict with the energizer juice. Overall, the drinks and food were great! I really enjoyed the monte cristo, flavorful with the ham and paired well with the honey mustard. It comes with a fruit cup but I wasn't able to eat majority of the fruits as there was pineapple inside (my fault for not informing them of food allergy) however, was able to try the orange and it was sweet. Both grapefruit juice and the Energizer were fresh. Energizer has some ginger so I didn't try it but was told that the ginger wasn't too strong. Overall, would come back to try the other items!

Love coming here for brunch! So glad you can make reservations now too! I got the Elvis which was so delicious! My friend and I split a carafe of mimosas. Only going down a star cause our waitress automatically gave us the more expensive dreamosa carafe rather then asking which one we wanted.

Really nice brunch place in the Uptown area with friendly staff! I previously grabbed their cloud cakes a few months ago, but got the chance to go again with my partner recently. We sat on the patio as it was a nice day - would recommend if the weather is nice as it can get loud inside, but the interior of the cafe is nice.Ended up getting a cappuccino to get a caffeine kick, it was just enough size wise and not too sweet. Then came main meal time. Admittedly, I ordered Austin Tacos given they have a lot of good reviews on Yelp, wanted something different and wanted access to eggs (lol). Taste-wise, the salsa crema definitely was a unique taste I wasn't used to, but I liked it overall. A part of me felt like the dish could've used a little oomph, so I tried adding ketchup and hot sauce to bring out the flavor. Overall a good dish, but I'm not sure if I'd order it again due to my taste preferences - nothing on the dish itself!My partner tried the huevos rancheros. He definitely favored the green/tomatillo sauce over the darker red/brown sauce - it also had a unique/sweet/spicy flavor, but it's likely due to familiarity. Both of us did notice parts of our tortilla did seem a little stale/burnt, but it didn't detract from the dishes too much.What we do want to give praise on is their portions (and potentially way of cooking)! They say they are a very health minded restaurant and it doesn't just show in their offering of smoothies, using alternative rice/wheat tortillas, etc., but the feeling we got afterwards. My problem with a lot of brunch places is that the food portions are too large and/or leave you feeling bloated at the end. My partner and I felt satisfied after leaving, but didn't have that icky feeling of being full. This is something that I also experienced with my friends when I first visited a while back. You won't be feeling guilty coming here, that's for sure!

We are the weirdos that made an 8 am reservation! We were so happy to find a restaurant that was open this early but kept the brunching atmosphere. We were traveling with a baby (hence the early start time), and Dream Cafe was very flexible and welcoming allowing us to arrange the high chair and stroller to work for our group. We were greeted by name when we arrived and shown around since we had not eaten there before. Dream Cafe has a great interior but also a cute courtyard! Very spacious, and has heaters! We highly recommend this spot because of the location, friendly staff, delicious food, and good vibes. Thank you, Dream Cafe! We will be back!
