We arrived in Dallas a little past the dinner hour and I was very hungry! My husband looked for a place near the hotel we would be checking into and he found Desperados. I'm so glad he did!We were greeted nicely by the hostess. Since it was later than the typical dinner hour, they were not very busy. Someone brought water and chips and salsa over as soon as we were seated. The salsa had a nice little bit of kick to it. We checked out the menu and made our choices. We each ordered a margarita and the Desperados tacos. I got mine with beef and my husband got one with beef and one with chicken. He said they were both good, but the beef was better. They came with refried beans, but I don't like them so I ordered no beans. My husband said they were really good though.The service was great! They didn't hover, but they were on top of service!As we were leaving, we started talking to the hostess and she walked around the restaurant with us and gave us a little history. It's a cool place! My photos will give you an idea of what it's like, but seeing it firsthand would be better.I highly recommend checking them out!

This place was everything we wanted it to be. Ma and pop all the way. Vibes were on point. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and personable. He helped us picked out some of the favs from the menu and he did not steer us wrong. The margaritas were awesome. The salsa for the chips was also great. Queso, tacos and everything was great. No notes!

Yummy! That's the only word that comes to mind when I think of this place! Their margaritas are so good. Try the spicy one with tajin if you like spice! Anyone on the menu is good but we all went for the tacos!

We stopped by here for a late lunch on Sunday and had a pleasant experience . We started off with the stuffed jalapeños and I got the crabmeat enchilada while my fiance got the chimichanga with beef . Overall, the food was good and the servers were very attentive. I believe a manager checked in on us as well, which is always nice . The vibes are perfect for a family or friend outing . It's not romantic or date night , but it gives an authentic Mexican feel which I can always appreciate . Worth stopping by

Came here on Monday October 2nd, our party of 3 ordered a range of items from the tex-mex options like enchiladas, shrimp tacos, beef tacos etc.Place was pretty empty for a weekday, service was very prompt and speedy. First impressions walking in is that the outside seems very authentic and homey. The inside is kind of dark - made me feel like I was in an underground bar. I was hoping for something a bit more lively.Food was very good, arrived very fast. Portion wasn't huge but decent and at a great price. Nothing to go too crazy about, but it fit the bill for what we wanted.I would recommend it for a no frills dinner or lunch options.

Loaded queso, chicken fajitas, steak, and chicken nachos, stuffed jalapeños, steak fajitas, and taquitos. Our bill was very reasonable, landing around $70 for five people with beverages. Friendly attentive goat and wait staff. The food was just okay. Very basic Tex Mex. There was no wow factory. But if you want to just have some Mexican and it's convenient go for it. Not bad in flavor.
