Don't change! Best damn chargrilled burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs in the area. Get a frosty root beer to wash it all down. Yum!

Damn good burger for the price. The sides were pretty good as well. Stopped in here with my brother on the way to his house from Love Field in December 2024. He said he thought it was under new ownership/staffing since the last time he had been.No frills. Service and order speed was good although the lunch crowd may have been sparse due to the downpour that day. Decent fixings bar and fresh brewed unsweet tea at the drink station.

Service was good and cute little burger shop, but the food needs work. Burgers were frozen premade commercial patties. Same with the French fries, tots, and onion rings. All were prominently visible in the freezer in the dining area. Not saying it's a bad burger, just not as good as earlier reviews had hyped them up to be. Based on reviews it appears there has been a change in ownership and a move away from fresh ingredients to commercial suppliers. $15 for a burger combo is better spent elsewhere.

Great little dive bar hamburger joint root beer is good burgers were good and the fries were OK. Looking forward to going back. Gave you four stars but it's just a OK hamburger place, but the ambience is really cool.

Classic old school burgers (and they're halal)! Must check out when in Richardson. They stay true to classic burger as well as old school feel ambiance. Must try onion rings too!

Not charcoal cooked. The first two things I saw were a huge freezer and a microwave. I really wanted to like this place. I heard about it for years, but being in the area when I wanted a burger just never synced up until today. I went in with high hopes given how long this place has been in business. Freshly made burgers cooked over charcoal was the expectation given the name of the place. We walked in had no issues placing our orders. Two dels specials with onion rings, curly fries, and two frosted root beer mugs. When they handed us our receipt, they gave us two styrofoam cups and no root beer. I figured maybe the frosted cups were coming with our order. The soda machine only had three choices, non of which were the root beer I've heard so much about. The food came out with no root beer. I was pretty disappointed since it was one of the main things I was craving. We were charged for it though. I tried the onion rings and they looked and tasted of frozen. The curly fries were all small and broken bits. I could tell they were using a cheap frozen product for them as well. The burger patty was dry and had no seasoning on it. It tasted like it was cooked from frozen and they had smashed all the juice out. The grill is a gas grill with no charcoal in the house. The three things I had been excited about were all subpar or flat out missing. I left feeling ripped off and that I had wasted my time and money on this place. I'm sure it was good at some point, but the new owners have really cut the corners on what I was lead to believe was going to be a classic burger experience with freshly made items. It was more like cheap buffet food. Two stars since it didn't make me sick.

Unfortunately Del's is no longer the great burger house it once was. Frozen beef patties were not something that used to be served. This along with their "homemade root beer" that tasted like it had been sitting out all day, made us realize that we won't be back anytime soon.

Finally tried Del's tonight after living in Richardson for 23 years. So so good! Got takeout. Ordered #10 with Swiss cheese, a side of tater tots and a coke. Burger patty filled the bun edge-to-edge and had yummy charcoal smokiness. Great balance of flavors from the meat & toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mayo & mustard) nothing overpowering. Tots stayed crispy on the outside and fluffy inside even after being transported home. My son had the #11 and sweet potato fries. I tried the s.p. fries and they were yummy too! Oh and I have to say the coke was honestly the best fountain soda I've had in a long while! Just right mix of syrup to carbonation. I'm happy to recommend Del's!

Del's Charcoal Burgers is a charming vintage burger restaurant that takes you back to the late 50s/early 60s. The restaurant is counter order. The burger took about 10 minutes to arrive after ordering (despite being busy)! The woman working the counter was friendly.Inside the restaurant is first come first serve seating. They have a lot of trinkets from the 60s decorated all over the wall. The burger itself was so good! You can taste the charcoal's smokiness on the burger. My husband ordered some onion rings, and I ordered fries. I would pass on the fries! They were not the best fries. Kind of hard and not well seasoned. The onion rings were good though!
