The 1999 championship was truly an unbelievable run on par with the Dallas Mavericks' run this year. Every game was literally edge-of-your-seat exciting. I still remember staying up until 2 a.m. or whenever for that last one.Mike Modano, Eddy Belfour, Brett Hull, you guys will always have a place in my heart.

I'll give this team and stadium 3 1/2 stars, kind of between Jeremey's and Glenn's ratings.I was in Dallas for a weeklong seminar at the American Airlines Training Center (the conference center near Euless, not the arena) and a few colleagues and I decided to head into Dallas to catch the game. We were lucky in that we scored some ridiculously cheap tickets on www.stubhub.com Now granted we were sitting up in the rafters, but for the price I'm not complaining. The atmosphere here is somewhat subdued for a hockey game. The fans here are pretty quiet compared to Penguin's fans, for example (I'm a Pittsburgh girl). Which is a shame because the Stars have had some good teams over the years. They do have some knowledgeable fans though. A guy sitting next to us happened to mention that he went down the Austin to see the Star's AHL affiliate the Texas Stars play. I mentioned to him that a couple of friends of mine are huge Chicago Wolves fans and he said that yes he'd seen the Wolves play the Stars.Although the Stars lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-0, we saw a good game played. Note to the Star's fans sitting around me. I didn't fall asleep because the game was boring. I'm a type-1 diabetic and I spiked at 450.

First off, I'm from L.A. and a Kings fan. Second, I know the Stars were swept out of the playoffs in the first round last season and it's been awhile since they played for the Cup. Chill out fans, you've still got it good! I've been to 5 games at the AAC over the past year and each and every visit was pure joy. Sure, I've paid an arm and a leg to sit in the lower levels but it has been worth every penny. Good sightlines, clean facilities, polite/helpful staff are all huge plusses.... but you Stars fan make the experience even better. Most of you wear your jerseys, know the players, and applaud a penalty kill . You refrain from drinking too much beer and climbing onto the visitor's bench like Flyers fan or standing up and berating your neighbors like Rangers/Islanders fan. Even those of you who go for the wrong reasons, and wear your fancy striped dress shirts, at least bring your hot , also inappropriately dressed dates and send them up to get you a beer several times a game. Finally, the hockey is pretty damn good. What more can you ask?

Glen, i most completely disagree with what you are saying. I only add the "most" because there were some fine ladies present. Other than that, the place was a disappointment. Much like the crowds at the Mavs games, the fans here suck. When a city has great fans, home games have a special feel to it. They have this energy that seems to propell the home team to new levels, to make the extra effort, and come up with the big plays. Dallas fans are quiet. Sure, they'll applaud the occaisional goal or penalty kill, but less than a minute later, there's silence. Keep in mind this team is a division leader and the crowd wasn't even pumped up! If this were the Rangers, that'd be one thing. But the poor fan attendance and horrible atmosphere that Dallas fans create are a buzzkill. While Dallas is blessed to have a competitive team, the fans truly disappoint.

Just got back from an awesome game... Lots of gloves off fighting by the entire both teams - the goalies stayed out of it over 40 minutes of penalty time for each team. Went into overtime and then to a shoot out. It was awesome but my nose is still bleeding from the altitude of my seets. I will be coming to another game, but maybe a bit lower next time
