The restaurant has moved buildings to be closer to the arts district. It's no longer on top of the 39th floor but it has a gorgeous view of Klyde Warren. The venue is beautiful. I understand it used to be a private dining room. However the service was painfully slow even for a mostly empty restaurant. Then the food while expensive, was rather bland. It's a fun place to take an out of town guest for the experience and the views but for those prices, they need a better menu.

Amazing place, amazing service, amazing venue!Located on the 39th floor of the JPMorgan Chase Tower in downtown Dallas, it makes for an incredible view of the metroplex, especially at night.Had some legislators in town and treated them (rather said they treated me) to this venue. We were running about 20 minutes late but Chef was able to rearrange affairs beautifully. The meal we has (surf and turf) was one of the best! Steak was tender and no sauce was needed although it was offered. Dessert was a tower of key lime pie which was also heavenly. Wait staff did an incredible job of taking care of our group of 9 people without even being noticed (I mean that in the best way possible). They made dinner very enjoyable.

I had the pleasure of being at the Dallas Petroleum Club for a formal event. I say Dallas because there are several different Petroleum Clubs around Texas. I don't think any of them are affiliated with each other, but they all have the same concept. It's basically a country club environment, with out the golf course. The Petroleum Club is a private club, so you can't just walk in off the street. You have to go with a member or for a member hosted event, such as I did. The Petroleum Club has a strict dress code. Which means it's business casual or business during business hours. And the means men are required to wear jackets/sports coats at dinner. They also have a very strict no cell phone policy. Which means your ringer needs to be on silent and you can't talk on your phone within the club. But you can text and fb. :) The club is located on the 39th & 40th floor of the Chase building. The decor is old school dark & rich woods. They have a formal dining room with a full bar as well as rooms for private social events. What most people notice right away is the panoramic views of Dallas. I'm sure I could see 10+ miles on a clear day. The event that I was there for had 47 people. We had a quartet playing. Which was on the Petroleum Club's recommended vendor list. They played everything from the jazz standards, classic rock, 60's soul and even some 80's pop music. There was something for everyone to dance too. The quartet is a talented group. Our event included a 4 course dinner. The tables were perfectly arranged with matching place settings. The servers were very prompt and attentive. From the 1st glass of champagne to the last glass of wine, they never allowed you to have a empty glass. As soon as each course was finished, they smoothly picked up your plate and with in minutes the next course was delivered. There wasn't a long lag between. Our main course was a 6 oz. filet, with grilled shrimp, mashers, and grilled veggies. Even though it was a quality meal, this wasn't on the level of a Del Frisco's or 3 Forks filet. But I would sacrifice a tad bit on the food for the view and the fact they served 50 steaks at the same time. That's a major task by itself. We also had open bar. You can never go wrong by having a open bar. It made the pre and post meal much more relaxing. And of course the socializing & mingling was great. Personally, I enjoy the Fort Worth Petroleum Club a little bit better, but the Dallas Petroleum Club does have the better skyline view. Would I come back? Well duh? I'm hoping I can come back for a quaint dinner or a drink at the bar.

I can't say enough about this place, but it is my favorite restaurant in downtown dallas. I have been going here for special occasions, holidays, or simply for lunch, for as long as I can remember. Their food is always fantastic and their service is even better.Their budgets are always fresh and have such a huge amount of variety, everyone can find something they like.Today I came in for their power lunch (which mind you only costs $13.35, which is INSANE). The starter was their soup of the day, chicken with rice. It had so many nice chunks of chicken, celery, and carrot. It was also seasoned wonderfully and piping hot. There was a choice between two entrees, a ribeye with French fries and small thing of arugula and greens, or an arugula salad with cucumber, avocado, and croutons, topped with sautéed salmon and buttermilk dressing, which I ordered on the side. The salad was so tasty. The cucumber, avacado, and arugula paired perfectly with the salmon, it was such a fresh taste. Those I was with ordered the ribeye and they were also super good. Not too big nor too small, they were very juicy and flavorful. But geez, those fries were fantastic. They were golden and crunchy on the outside and light and soft on the inside.Dessert was a choice between fresh berries topped with vanilla whipped cream, or jack Daniels ice cream. We all went with the berries and cream and they were fabulous. They were large bowls filled with cut up strawberries and whole raspberries, with their house made vanilla whipped cream on the side. Needless to say, I finished mine....and theirs..... I couldn't help myself! Stunning view, AMAZING service, really great food. I will always be a fan of the petroleum club and will keep coming whenever I get the chance.

Been three times in a row and every time the steak is burned. I feel with some possible to get a medium rare steak. The Caesar salad has so much Parmesan cheese it's a cheese salad with dressing. My date suggested I stop ordering steaks! Really!!!

Boy howdy, does this clip joint hit an all sixes! Fabulous service, atmosphere, and spectacular views. The fish is flown in fresh daily, and the steaks are to die for. If you have a chance to experience the creme brulee - treat yourself and do it. Wear your glad rags as the Club does have a dress code, and leave those pesky cell devices in your roadster, as use of them is restricted. You'll have to beat your gums with your sweetheart or dinner guests and not an electronic device. This is a private club and it's members are heavy on the sugar, so bring your clams. I adore swank, and this place defines it.

There aren't many negative connotations when it comes to a super chic, metropolitan event space at the top of the JP Morgan Chase building with 360 degree views of Dallas.I had the awesome privilege of attending a rehearsal dinner at the Dallas Petroleum Club and was overly impressed with not only the service, but the food as well. Indeed - the sheer beauty of the city views speak volumes for the space as a premiere venue for private or corporate events. The parking is available at the bottom of the building with a quick ride up the elevator to the very top of the building with the iconic hole in the middle. The kitchen onsite and obvious capacity to facilitate any category of event makes this space a five-star event space.
