It is time to either close this location or do something with it. I was here before Perot and enjoyed it, and I now have a Perot membership. The family was in the city Sunday, so we decided to see what it was like now at the Fair Park location. To be honest, if it weren't for free parking and the fact that walking around the pond is till nice (and the weather was great) this would be a one rating. It is almost embarrassing to walk in here now. Most of the exhibits are gone and what is left is pretty disheveled looking. Also, there is the look of unfinished construction all over the building.

This museum has literally been the same since I was 10 years old (I'm 44 now) - I remember when they added the big stuffed alligator 30 years ago and after that nothing has changed ... all the exhibits are old and shabby for obvious reasons

I arrived to the museum where I was told all the dinosaur stuff had been moved to another location. I agree, it is time to close this place except for on state fair days. Luckily, we only had to pay a dollar. The historical dioramas were dark and antiquated. The "science" stuff looked like leftovers from the 50s and some were even broken. The mineral room was so dim i could not see most of them. All those dead birds and animals in the dioramas were quite depressing. My four year old nephew did not find any of this interesting.
