One of my sorority sisters recommended this place. Several of us booked one of the class sessions together on a Sunday morning. There were others in the class that weren't with our group. Doing a private class is much more expensive. As is, it was $70 for this particular class. Read the prerequisites in advance and follow the instructions for your safety. You need to wear closed toe shoes, pull your hair back, and wear all cotton clothes. It's hot, especially during the summer months when the kilns are baking and the outside temperature is extreme. I was told that the last time my ZTA sister was there, one of the workers passed out because of the heat. Take the precautions seriously. Arrive early! Complete your waiver forms online before you come. You will create your artwork in the order you arrive. This is okay if you don't want to go first and don't mind waiting. Sadly, I was the last to arrive, so my ZTA sisters had to wait and watch every single student make their piece until I went. You will do less than you think. All of it is guided and you will have someone holding the hot poker WITH YOU the entire time. This is a good thing because you can relax and enjoy the experience without the fear of messing up. The biggest worry you will have is what color or colors to choose for the piece you decide to create. I went with the flower which was more complicated than the hummingbird feeder. I used the colors teal and nebula. These colors were so popular, they didn't have enough at the end, so they laid my glass shards on the table where I rolled them into the piece instead of dipping them like everyone else. You will need to return a week later to pick up your piece. It takes time for the glass to cure without thermal shock. I'm likely to come back and do this again, but I might do it with the ash remains of a loved one. They have these beautiful pieces that you weave the ashes into and then everyone can take a piece home of their loved one. I found this experience intriguing and would encourage others to give it a try too.

This was so much fun! Guillermo is an AMAZING instructor. We booked package 2 for 2 people and got to make a total of 6 pieces.Traci greeted us when we came in and helped us pick out which pieces we were going to make and what colors. She's awesome.Guillermo started by making an ornament to show us the entire flow and from then on we got to do pretty much everything except blowing in the pipe / tube, which I understand. You don't want everyone's mouths on there. He was super helpful and explained everything to us answering any questions we had along the way. You could tell he absolutely loves what he does and enjoys sharing his passion with others. The 1.5 hours went by so quickly. Even when we messed up, he'd be like "perfect, that's peeeeerfect, now I'm just going to take this from you and adjust it real fast" lol. He's fantastic. We both had a huge smile on our faces the entire time.I'm not sure why there's so many reviews saying the instructors do everything and you don't get to do any of it. That's completely untrue. For the first pieces there was obviously more guidance, but by the end, we did pretty much everything except gather and holding the pipe when the piece was knocked off. It's not nearly as hot in there as I thought it would be. We were in jeans and a short sleeve shirt and were fine. There was plenty of cold water that you could get at any time and he explained where to stand to protect yourself from the heat. We'll be taking all our family and friends here when they're in town to experience this! Highly recommended!

This is a hot date activity literally, and figuratively! If you're a fan of glass, this is a must try. Super fun, extremely interesting process, and you get to make some really amazing items. Can't wait to get the finished products in the mail. Instructor was very informative, and gave a great presentation on how to make awesome items, and have fun while doing it. We think were gonna need a return visit to make some other things! Highly recommend!

Booked a class for two and it was fantastic!! We had Guillermo and Liz and they couldn't have been better. Demonstrated at the beginning and towards the end we were doing almost everything ourselves. 10/10 would recommend and will be going back.

The two hour public class is about 10 minutes of actual hands-on glass making (each participant goes one at a time.) You could spend up to an hour and 50 minutes sitting around waiting for your turn. It was incredibly boring. I ended up leaving over an hour after class started without touching any materials or tools or taking home the item I paid for. They will not give you a refund. If you decide to take a class definitely bring a book, crossword puzzle, or SOMETHING to keep you occupied while you wait. Be prepared to forego your class fee even if you are unable to participate or don't enjoy yourself.

Very nice, friendly and welcoming personnel. After you sign-in and complete the waivers they explain the process and you get to pick the frit mix (small chips of colored glass) that you are going to use for your project. Then they conduct a demonstration of what you will be doing. And finally, you go in the order of your arrival to fabricate your glass piece. Here's where the experience fell short for me.... First, I wish you really got to make the glass piece and actually learned something about glass blowing. They really make the piece for you.$70 per person for what you get is not great value. So if three people go you're at $225 with tax. Remember, you are paying for the experience, I keep telling myself but it's not changing my opinion.I felt very rushed through the process. Was really looking for more of a learning and creative exercise than being pushed through the steps. This is a very hot activity for 107 degree summer days, if you still choose to experience glass blowing, then it is best to come when it's cooler outside. They have no problem booking up and you have to register well in advance, but I just crossed this off my list.... been there, done that, next.

Fun celebratory experience with my two adult sons. Informative, and very hands on. Not something we will forget. Recommend spending the extra for a private experience if you have a group because if there is a class of 10 or more someone goes last and your watching everyone before you make their item. Also as you can expect, it is hot inside in the Texas summer

I bought my husband and I a class for a joint Christmas present this past holiday. Hubby was a little skeptical of why glass blowing.... But it was so interesting! And fun! And really really hot. I can't imagine doing it is summer. Registration online was super simple. We were first to arrive last Sunday and they checked us in right away. We also met the resident pooch, Chai. A sweetheart. We had signed up for the beer and wine glass class and we got to pick out our color combos. Being first there also meant I got to be the first to go! There were 3 instructors and to be honest, they do most of the work but they explained the process and you are actually assisting. We are headed to pick up our finished product since it's about 900degrees when finished and they use a very slow cool down curing process. Photos of our masterpiece s to follow.

Great way to try a new medium. Definitely worth a try but I'd recommend doing this in the winter time.
