This is my first visit to Dallas, and honestly, the food has been pretty disappointing so far; everything I've tried has been bad. However, today I went to Cowboy Chow, and I have to say, it was amazing! The atmosphere was great, both indoors and outdoors. Our server, Darrenisha, was incredibly friendly and really embodied southern hospitality. She suggested some dishes and checked on us after we got our food, making my week in Dallas so much better. I also want to mention the host at the front; I wish I had caught her name because she was really nice too. I ordered the brisket sandwich, and it was so good that I can't even describe it--you just have to try it for yourself. It was so filling that I couldn't finish it after the first half. I have three weeks left here, and I will definitely be coming back! I definitely let me ppl back in Cali know this is top places to eat.Doubled back 1/31 & 2/1 - food was good our server ... was a bit awkward, deff could take some tips from Darrenisha, and that's all I will say about that.

Had dinner at this spot when I was in town. Overall it was OK. First time there and I had the grilled cheese with brisket. It was decent, nothing really special. The fries that came with were very salty or should I say over seasoned. Good service, average atmosphere.

Looking for a cool cowboy themed sports bar in downtown Dallas? Giddy up to cowboy chow for a cold brew or cocktail or two. The bar bites are reasonably priced & tasty. Mark the bartender pointed us in the right direction for the starters. The outlaw shrimp were delish. The smoked Prime Rib quesadilla was yummy & filling. I opted for the backyard ribs that comes with elote & baked bean & it didn't disappoint. Yummm the daiquiri drinks were beautifully presented & refreshing. They also have a huge patio area as wellI love the ambience of this restaurant. The manager Nate was super friendly and informative. He mentioned live music on Fridays from 7-10, so I will return to see the shows. I would definitely recommend for a laid back day or night out in the downtown area! This restaurant is #BarbieApproved

We checked in with the host inside and were immediately seated on the enormous patio overlooking the AT&T Discovery District. The beer menu included some nice choices from local craft breweries. My daughter and I split nachos and avocado toast. Both were delicious; however, I found the tomatoes on the avocado toast much too big and took away from the taste of the avocado. The meat on the nachos was delicious but I wanted more. The server was friendly and very attentive.

What an amazing venue came here for a hosted event by a conference, and the food was great, the service was great, and the drinks were wonderful. There was a live van. I really appreciate it that they had fans that allows you to sit outside and stay cool Upstairs balcony was beautiful and also had plenty of seating. We were allowed to also sit in the cool dining facility upstairs overall this was a great venue. Highly recommend great food. Great drinks.

This is a place that was recommended to us by our uber driver. He has lived in Dallas for quite sometime so me and one of my colleagues tried the spot out because he mentioned the burgers being good. Well I'm not sure if he meant vegetarian as well because that's what I got with the sweet potato fries and it was just okay. The burger needed like mustard and/or mayo with it. The fries, OMG I thought I never met a fry I didn't like and today was it; at first I was like maybe it's just 1 fry that is off but I tried them 3x and the fries were not frying-AT ALL! Not crispy, not hot, and nothing to absolutely not write home about. The service was just okay, she didn't do anything that stood out, just did her job. Ambiance was cool they had some artwork, a horse and a full bar so I think that's what made us wanting to try it on top of what the uber driver said. I also got a glass a wine, again nothing fancy just basic. We did order brussel sprouts as an appetizer and those were yummy but I feel like everyone is up on the fried brussel sprout train and it's for the most always good. If you like bar type American food fare, with views inside and out, check it out!

Shameful Discrimination at Cowboy Chow - Unacceptable TreatmentIf I could give Cowboy Chow zero stars, I would. My family and I had an incredibly disappointing and blatantly discriminatory experience here on Saturday, March 1, at 7:30 PM.Upon arrival, the restaurant was fairly empty. I asked for a table for five, only to be told by the two hostesses that they were not taking walk-ins and that all available tables were reserved. Meanwhile, my daughter's cheer teammates--an all-white group of approx eight--had just been seated outside without a reservation. I then asked if I could make a reservation online and was told they wouldn't be accepting reservations until Monday.Frustrated but still wanting to my daughter to spend time with her teammates after the traumatic experience they had endured at the Dallas Convention Center for NCA the Cheer comp, I decided to order takeout and eat in courtyard. After waiting 25 minutes, I returned to pick up my order and saw two white women walk in. The hostess immediately greeted them, asked how many were in their party (two), and proceeded to offer them a choice: sit inside or outside. These women had no reservation, yet they were seated without hesitation--the very thing I was told was not possible just minutes earlier. When I questioned the hostess, I was met with a weak excuse: "Oh, the kitchen is open now, so we are taking walk-ins."This is completely unacceptable. The kitchen was clearly open when I placed my takeout order online. The only difference between me and those who were seated? I am a Black woman.Cowboy Chow, do better. Discrimination in any form is disgusting, but the blatant double standard in how I was treated compared to white customers makes it clear that this establishment does not value Black patrons. I will never return, and I encourage others to reconsider supporting a business that treats people differently based on the color of their skin.
