I agree with some of the reviewers that the food needs to be stepped up a notch and service was a bit slow. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. Boss lady and I came in after the lunch rush. Only three other tables had customers. I ordered the 205 Plate with (what was to be fatty, not. It was cold and dry) brisket and the spicy sausage, which was delicious! My sides were green beans (with bacon) and fried okra...both very tasty. Loved the bread roll. We asked for butter, and they brought out some real whipped butter...SCORE!She had their special flat iron steak, cooked medium rare (always!) with salad and and fries (which need to be done more). Her steak was so tender and cooked perfectly!Dessert was their sampler. With a double order of banana pudding, a bread pudding and a chocolate cake. The best thing was the bread pudding but it needs a warm sauce on it. The others were just Ok.Overall, a good meal and experience. We'll be back to try something different.

Rockwall?!? Where are you at? We have been walking past here for a couple months and finally decided to try. It's Friday night at 730 and there were 4 tables. I got nervous. Is this a sign??? No. It's no. Currently, they have beer and wine available. We ordered a beer and it was ice cold. For apps, we had half orders of the meteor bites and pickles. Both fantastic. Served with a yummy ranch and Chipotle ranch. Out fast and hot. Our server Cora was so pleasant and had such a strong desire to please. For dinner we both got the 205 plate. Two meats and two sides. For just over $20. It was a steal compared to most bbq joints. He got brisket and ribs. Both fantastic and I am not a rib girl. So tender. I got the pulled pork and chicken. Both good. But, I won't lie, his was better. Only complaint was wishing the food was just slightly warmer. For sides, creamy Mac n cheese (next time I am getting that topped with brisket), potatoe salad and Cole slaw. Zero complaints. Come on Rockwall. Show up and support a local business.

Stopped for lunch on a whim, glad we did! Food was delicious and everything was made to order. Their sodas are house made/organic and was good! Dessert is a must, banana pudding was great just missing the whipped cream!

Went for our anniversary tonight and had the most delicious steaks! Owner Andy came out and chatted with us about the science of cooking the perfect steak. So much fun and delicious! I definitely recommend for a yummy black angus or even better Akaushi steak even though they have delicious bbq.

We were there on a Thursday afternoon so the restaurant wasn't crowded but steadily busy. Our waiter Andy was exceptionally friendly and attentive but not annoyingly so. The menu was exactly what I would expect from a barbecue restaurant, we had the 55 Classic, it was just enough for us and very tasty. The sides, we had green beans and the Barbecue beans, were very good and generous portions. For me though this is a bit of a drive from I-30 (we were passing through)but well worth the drive, it's only a couple of miles. Everything was really good. I would recommend it and Will go again when we are in the area.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. We had family in town from Minnesota who wanted to try great Texas bbq, and this place did not disappoint. I called to place an order for pick up for ten people on a early Sunday afternoon, and Andy was so helpful and friendly. It's honestly one of the best customer service experiences I've had. I was really hoping the food was as good as the service and it absolutely was!! We tried all their meats, and everyone had a different favorite, not one disappointed. I thought the ribs and the brisket were the best, but whatever you like you can't go wrong. The Mac and cheese was so yummy, especially with the brisket, we kept stealing bites from the kids. Oh oh oh and the bbq sauce is really, really great!!! The meat doesn't even need it, but mmmmm it's fantastic with it. I'm so excited to try this place again! It's great to have a locally owned place that's working so hard at getting it right!! Thank you so much!! I can't tell you how much we appreciated the experience...it will be discussed for years to come with the family.

Going into this review with the heads up that they just open this location about a week ago. I'll be trying it again in this review is open to change.I had lunch with my sister for her birthday. Again, just opened in the former Fatted Calf location. At this time, there was no restaurant decor, 100% acoustic and very loud (more so than normal) once people started coming in. I'm certain this will change and improve as they settle in.I ordered the brisket and ribs plate with barbecue beans and a side salad. My understanding is this restaurant has been established for a while and moved from Sachse to Rockwall.-The brisket was good, not great. Very little smoke ring and next to no bark. Cut very thin.-The ribs came later. They looked great. It's my understanding that "competition style ribs" are not "fall off the bone" ribs. As you can see in the photos, before, and after... There was almost no meat on those ribs, all bone. Luck of the draw perhaps? If so, I still feel like I got the short end of the stick on the ribs.-The beans were good, but I'm anticipating that these were Bush Beans.-The salad was great! The jalapeño ranch was perfect with it!-My sister let me try her green beans. I thought they were really good flavored and I think had some bacon in it.-The roll was good-The sauce tasted like sweet baby rays to me, not that there's anything wrong with SBR, but I like to see restaurants like this with their own sauce (I could be wrong).-I wanted turkey, but they didn't have any.Again, I'll be trying this place again, but will likely be getting something different.

Good meats.. but super slow service and only 2 employees for the whole place doing everything from taking orders- and making food and running around, with a lot of people waiting around to be seated/give their order. Some people just walked out after waiting too long. Only 1 barstool at the bar which is kinda awkward. Hope they can get more

We don't complain much.My wife and I have tried CB&G three times. Food is always amazing. The three times we have been (weekends and weekday) it's pretty much empty. And service is always sub standard. So last time we went, we kinda figured it out.We had the same server all three times (lady with glasses). Always yelling at the kitchen about "where is my customers food". Only 3 tables. She has no help. Doesn't seem overwhelming from a serving and volume perspective and It's not her fault.On the last visit, she served us wine. One glass was fresh, the other sour. We asked for a fresh glass to replace sour glass. She obliges and admitted one glass was poured from an open bottle at noon that day. But afterwards she questioned us on why we sent back sour glass of wine. We explained there is a clear difference in taste. She rolled her eyes. It's like she was making it our fault the glass of wine was sour. Very odd customer service. We didn't go there for wine. We went for BBQ. But she clearly took offense.Every experience, this server has a loud potty mouth that can be heard from the kitchen. Repulsive. Maybe this location needs to relegate to a food truck. Service is awful.
