Just as the name suggests, this is a coffee shop made for the community. Not only do they serve delicious high quality coffee, they hold event space, coworking space, and even a barbershop! It's an all around multifunctional coffee shop with chic industrial vibe. They currently have winter seasonal menu as well. (5/5) Spiced Nutcracker LatteI'm always a little scared to order holiday flavored drinks as it may be too sweet, but this one was literally my favorite from this season. They have mastered the not too sweet balance with warm spices and quality coffee (4/5) CortadoIt had a nice balance of creamy milk and robust espresso. The flavor was enjoyable with decent depth. Solid choice.(5/5) Decaf LatteImpressively good. You know a coffee shop is good if they even do decaf well!(3/5) Iced White Chocolate MatchaCommunion's new syrup recipe made with white chocolate melted velvety syrup. Wish it had more flavor, it was one of the most bland matcha lattes I had.

They don't have a lot of selections for non caffeine drinks and the WiFi here is limited to an hour. I feel I couldn't get enough studying/ work time unfortunately. Staff was nice. The space is cute but it does get busy.

Love this spot! Frequently travel to Dallas/Plano for business and this is my goto for coffee or just to sit and enjoy a morning before meeting with partners. Ambience is warm, team is always friendly and helpful, and really, I simply appreciate the consistency and positive experience have had here over the years. The restaurant which closed had incredible food, and was really bummed when that part of the business closed as the team and food were both so enjoyable and authentic. Being in business already has challenges, and was even harder through the pandemic years. Surely the decision to close the restaurant was a difficult one. Thank you Communion for being the best start to my days when in town!!!

After reading the mixed reviews I decided to check out this place and it did not disappoint. The coffee is amazing, I got the lavender latte and it was one of the smoothest cups I've had! The service was friendly and it was not too crowded or loud even on a Sunday morning! They offer free WiFi and plenty of parking space!

The Cafe is no more, but the coffee shop makes a great cuppa, and they offer breakfast tacos and pastries. The barista at the coffee shop was great. He let us know that the area that was formerly the cafe is now used for catering. We thought about going elsewhere, but went ahead and got coffee and food once we saw the options. Our order came up right away, and it was early enough that we could sit on the shaded patio. My cinnamon roll was fresh and tasty with a brioche-like dough. My pour-over was bold but not bitter. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Dallas.

Great spot! So glad we stopped by!!!Some Highlights - great service, large seating area, easy parking, really nice atmosphere for conversing/studying, great place to pick up small gifts for people, and very tasty latte :)! My family and I are just passing through and stopped by. We were hoping to find a few cute unique gift/souvenir and this place had some really great options for all ages :). Service was great! When I asked the barista about what they had batch brewed he said he wasn't sure how old it was ( I appreciate his honesty for sure - helped me decide on ordering a latte instead :) - but I definitely started to lower my expectations). I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted my latte and it was DELICIOUS- seriously sooooooooo tasty. Such a treat to taste a latte like that. My husband didn't love the matcha - I think we were expecting it to be sweet already and to have more matcha flavor - but that's probably more on us to ask more info about it before ordering :). Service was prompt - especially considering it was all just one guy working behind the counter - he was really working hard. All in all I would recommend this place! Stop by for sure!!

Great ambience at the coffee shop and the workers are very friendly. The lavender latte is smooth. They also have a lot of cool gifts and stationary to look at inside the shop! There's a co-working space next door that I've used several times and have enjoyed; it's membership based. If the wifi was better at the coffee shop, I would work there a lot more often but no biggie! Love that they are in Richardson!

I helped host a shower in the smaller venue on 3/2/24. I arrived 40 minutes before the 10:00 contract time to start blowing up balloon arch. I asked permission to enter early. It happened that the owner's brother was parked near me and he and I stood at the coffee window for a while to ask permission from the manager who said it would be fine. The venue space is attractive, but the place was not clean. The food prep area behind the bar was sticky and the floor was so dirty that we had to put balloons on chairs as we blew them up so as not to collect dust and dirt on them. We borrowed a broom to sweep the place ourselves. When I asked the event manager if a clean up crew was supposed to prepare the place, she said that she arrives 30 minutes early to clean. So I handed her the broom at that time. She will likely respond that because we arrived early, she couldn't do her job. However, we had swept just fine with the few people there setting up. The rest of the time she sat in the neighboring space on her phone. Because I got in earlier than the contract arrival time, the events manager kept my co-host's security deposit. The contract was for 5 hours. We were out of the space at 2:00 PM, 4 hours and 40 minutes. In addition, Communion had a sign up outside that said that the restroom was in our rented space so we had complete strangers walking through a bridal brunch shower throughout our event. I do not recommend this space for private parties. In response to the comment below about using the commercial kitchen. We got ice to put in a water dispenser and the champagne bucket - less than $10 worth of ice - from your ice machine on site. We did not cook or prepare any food in your kitchen. The entire place is called Communion Neighborhood Cooperative, including the coffee shop which is the only place to find staff. Perhaps you should train the employees in that part of your business to say no to requests to enter early and use ice, just like you should train customers to not use the restroom and walk through a private party. The cost of the space was $325 + $100 unrefunded security deposit = $425. Not $250 has you stated below. The person that went to get ice in the kitchen DOES have her food handling license. We can provide since that was one of your concerns about us entering your open kitchen space, owner Amy. There were no working sinks in the bar area where we prepped our buffet dishes nor paper in paper dispenser nor soap in the bathrooms. And the bathroom lights were not working. It's so sad that a business in the Lockwood district is so poorly run. It's a bad reflection on our great city and its leaders who approved the redevelopment.

A favorite spot to meet up near 75 & Belt Line in Richardson, so it's not too far for me from Plano nor for her from Dallas. It's set far enough back from 75 that you can actually enjoy the outdoor seating (before the Texas heat decides to bake you). The interior is cute, too, but it's not very big. I've never had food here but their coffee is great and they always have great seasonal options. Perfect for those looking for a Starbucks alternative, but be forewarned that it's not as fast. There's no drive through and drinks can take a little while, so don't get impatient. This is a place to visit if you're wanting to catch up with a friend or settle in for some reading or work with great ambiance.
