Catfish Smith

Sunday at 5 PM the lady at the window in the presentation of the food. They just roll your shit up. And serve it out the door. Nobody ever know anything when you order but they work here.

It used to be a good fish place back n the day! In the words of BubbaDub #TRASH I dont like giving a bad review but this is so dam unacceptable. What I will say is the young lady did make it right. She gave my husband 2 filets for the inconvenience.

I got catfish and okra and both were fried well but had no seasoning. I used hot sauce and they don't even fill it up so I had to go back multiple times to get more. The wait was kinda long which I was glad the food came out fresh but not worth the hype.

I haven't been to Catfish Smith in years! I was surprised to see, they now have a drive-thru! I didn't go inside but I love the updates made to the building! Beautiful and Positive mural! I went around lunch and the wait wasn't so bad! My fish was hot/fresh and seasoned perfectly. Ordered a 12 piece nugget with extra tarter sauce - $21Enjoy!

The best catfish in Texas. Believe me. I've tried quite a few. This place has been around. My mom used to come here in college. So I imagine, true to their name, they've mastered the art of frying catfish, earning their name Catfish Smith. They do have other items in the menu that are good such as Butterfly Shrimp, but THE reason to come here is their catfish. To be fair, I haven't tried their frog legs or chicken wings or Perch or their desserts. If you're passing through, the only place to enjoy this is your vehicle. If you don't have one then I suppose the sidewalk will do if it's not too hot. In other words, there isn't a place to sit anywhere inside or out. They usually give you a box (kinda like Costco) though so that you have access to everything in one place - your fish, the lemon, the jalapeño, ketchup for the yummy fries, the hot sauce, tarter sauce, napkins and utensils.My mom and I usually get the Whole Catfish but discovered just getting the Catfish Tails (which is the best part in my opinion) is plenty and not as pricey.Their seafood is perfectly fried with a flavorful cornmeal batter that isn't too much and with no hidden sugar additives. I have a sensitive palate so I can always detect when someone adds sugar to their mix. None here. No funny business. Just clean fried catfish goodness.You'll want to call ahead because they do keep busy and your order will be prepared fresh. Also if you're not used to the neighborhood, you might see some odd activities while you wait that may be concerning. But reach out and be a blessing, it's okay. You might be there for a reason other than delicious catfish. You never know.

It's been years since I've eaten at Catfish Smith. The last time I ate here, I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I decided to stop by today and was super disappointed. The prices are high and the food was not worth one dime I spent. I purchased catfish nuggets and was given something that was definitely not catfish. It was not good at all. I will not be visiting again.

I was truly looking forward to trying this place. Other the. The lovely lady at the counter, there isn't much more I can say to appease the masses. After ordering my food, I had to wait over 30 min. in the parking lot to obtain my food, although I'll attribute that to them being short staffed - truthfully that wasn't really the main issue. Ordered shrimp and fries, & an order of fish filets w/ 2 shrimps.Now, do not get me wrong, the food smelled amazing, mouth watering. The issue was when the eating started. The shrimp felt like it was pre cooked (boiled shrimp) that was the. Tossed into the batter to fry. So it came out rather chewy, almost rubbery. As for the fish, part of the fish were under cooked, and were also chewy. I would like to say I would want to try them out again, but I feel some type of way about undercooked food. Especially after waiting for a long period in the parking lot to get the order. Hoped they are able to hire more folks to help out. They did have a sign at the front saying they were hiring. Nonetheless, good luck to the business and its customers.

Small but DELICIOUS TASTY FOOD! highly recommend but on pricey side. We have had their catfish nuggets, shrimp, okra and Koolaid (yes, they sell it!) and YUMMLICIOUS. They are a drive thru and seem like the food is made to order so there's a wait time. It can get full on evenings and weekends.

Their food is seasoned very well. It's fresh and the service for call in is very good. If you like seafood I would recommend them.

All good, sometimes a little wait involved because they're so dang good, their lemon cake to die for best in the land
