Have been a member at this specific course for 3 years now. Loved pretty much every moment of it. As with any place, some issues come up from time to time, but generally they are handled well. Great for kids and families, though they need to hurry up on the permanent kids club. Otherwise, no issues.

We had an excellent experience hosting a baby shower at CCCC! Marie, our coordinator, was outstanding! We planned the event from California and she helped us with out of town recommendations and took care of everything. The club was decorated for fall and Halloween which was gorgeous! The Terrace Room was a perfect size for our party of 28 and the wall to wall windows looking out to the golf course were beautiful. But let's talk about service and food! We chose the taco bar with chips, salsa and queso. It was AMAZING! I was worried about the food being just okay like normal banquet hall type food, but it was truly excellent! Our server was the best! He picked up plates from the table and brought out fresh plates for guests to have seconds. A lot of people made nachos the second time round which was very cool. Overall, I would host another event at this venue without hesitation! Gorgeous and good food, you can't go wrong!

We have been members since July 2013. The reason we stay is for the members, because they're some of the nicest, laid-back, fun people we know, many of which have become very good friends, almost likely family. We don't ever get the 'country club', pretentious vibe. Based on that alone, I'd give 5 stars. Unfortunately, the state of the golf course, which should be your shining star, is not what it used to be. Leadership doesn't seem to want to listen to the members' complaints (I requested a meeting with the GM back in September she's still trying to find time for). The biggest issue now is that there is blatant gender discrimination occurring on a regular basis as it relates to men/women getting access to the course. Canyon Creek is the only ClubCorp course that has this rule. If you're a woman who wants to golf with her husband or significant other on a Saturday morning, you are not allowed to do so (they call this the gold/silver member rule, and you have to designate one gold member and one silver member when you join). The one day of the week the 'silver' members get the course open first, they take that one day alone and open the tee times much later than normal. Therefore, some of these members never have a chance to get out early before work. They have NEVER done this to the 'gold' members who would complain mercilessly if the club tried that with them. When we joined, there used to be a waiting list for every major golf tournament. Big holiday events like NYE or Ugly Christmas Sweater parties used to be packed and would sell out. Now they're lucky to have a handful of people, and the reason is plain and simple - they've raised the prices way too high, and what you get for it is less and less each year. The prices have gotten absolutely ridiculous for food, drinks, and big events. They've also raised the dues each year we've been members. The full golf membership has risen 45% in the less than 8 years we've been members. The GM tries to justify the increases by telling us we have 'new' sprinklers (which still leak everywhere), new golf carts, some re-sodded teeboxes, minor bathroom updates, nicer landscaping, and a memorial clock for a past member (mind you, the family paid for it, so it is beyond tacky for the club to imply they did that IMO). The new head pro (a little over a year now) has introduced some really nice new programs that are well-attended, which has been nice. Overall, you have to keep in mind, this is a ClubCorp club. They are in the business of turning a profit, unlike a more traditional country club. We're constantly charged incorrectly for things and have to monitor our bills every month, which can be difficult due to what seems to be a really terrible accounting/POS system. If you're considering a club primarily focused on the golf, I'd go elsewhere. If you're mainly looking for a social experience, you may rate your experience more highly than I have as that's the main value I see now in the membership.

I have been here several times for events and I attended a wedding a few weeks ago here. Amazing view and service was excellent except for the young lady with long dark curly hair. Extremely rude and acted as if I was bothering her every time I went to the bar and asked for anything. She does not need to be in customer service if she does not know how to be nice to customers.

My name is Jeremy Price. I have been a member for about 3 years. It is a great community to be a part of. It is unfortunate that the reviews are 2 years old and generally speaking always come from those who are disgruntled. The members here are community oriented and great people for the most part. There will always be outlier. The staff from top to bottom are there for the members and try be as accommodating as possible. The facilities renovation is coming along nicely but like any complete overhaul bumps are to be expected. When finished the golf will be top notch I have walked the entire course and it is going to be nice. The tennis courts are being redone and pickle ball has already been done along with the pool. Golf is slated to open next month and club house renovations will be completed by next summer. If you ever see my name on the tee sheet you are always welcome to join me.

I've held my tongue for a while now. Actual members are great and I've made some great friends. With that said, that's where it ends with the nice things about this club. I've worked at some nice country clubs and golf courses in my life as well as having been a member at some. I can say without a hesitation that the head pro Heather Stewart is the worst, most impersonal pro I've come across. Her lack of personality and the unwelcoming way she treats people is 2nd to none. Back during member guest in June, she treated me and my guest in a disgusting manner. She accused me and my guest of cheating and required us to prove his handicap after the 2nd of 3rd day (we were the only ones in the field required to do this). Lisa (the GM) backed this decision. Having been a competitive golfer in my life, this is the first and only time I've ever been accused of cheating. This was the final straw that I made the decision I wouldn't be continuing my membership at this club. There are much nicer clubs that are in better shape and much better staff than this club. This club just banks on the fact their in a well off neighborhood and will do little to improve this club. Last thing is they will nickel and dime you for everything and often charge you for things that you've never ordered. The food is mediocre as best and they can't keep a consistent staff due to management.I hope after reading this, you'll make the wise decision to avoid this place and if you are considering it, make sure you speak with members that you randomly see as to not have "plants" talk up the membership.

Canyon Creek Country Club is a shady business and organization. My wedding was canceled by the "club" in mid March because of the Coronavirus! I was in tears as I called my fiancé to share the awful news and texting cancellations to our wedding guests. Two days later we email and text Rose Pope, the new event director that we wanted to marry 10/10/20. Rose stated she had a contract out with another couple, but she would see if they signed their contract if they would move their start time later we could schedule ours to begin at noon. Mind you we signed our contract in 2018, but they were waiting on a couple to sign. Rose gets back to us we can't marry that day after she text me it was perfect. We are back and forth with Rose and she can only offer us Saturdays in August or November! I wanted an outdoor wedding and my dress is strapless so neither of those months worked for us. My fiancé and groomsmen are wearing tuxedos. We knew a date in the fall is best and Rose and her general managers were not attempting to be accommodating like our other vendors. I asked for a refund so as to look for another venue that could offer us dates we liked and because I was paying for a service they couldn't provide that we were pleased with. Canyon Creek kept $1500 of our money even though they couldn't provide a substitute area like stated in our contract. Do not sign a contract to hold any event here because you will get ripped off! The club will not counter my review because I have emails, texts, and my contract stating what I'm writing is true! I'm still going back and forth with them two weeks later about a couple of hundred dollars they supposedly put on a debit card where the account is closed. Or it's someone else's card Only giving me the last 4 digits to call the bank. Ummmmm I used 3 or 4 different cards to pay $8,500. So they aren't willing to provide the required info for me to call a bank. Marry some where else with great customer reviews!Update! I received the 200 something dollars from my former bank in check form two days ago.

I am currently a member at CCCC. I will start off with the positive, Jonathan (Golf pro) is amazing. My daughter is taking lessons with him and he is so patient with her. All the bag boys and gals, starters, and most of the pro-shop staff is great. Like most, I have to watch my statement like a hawk, I am constantly being charged for items that are not mine. The worst part is getting someone on the phone that can help you is almost impossible. Understanding their statement is like reading foreign language, I really do think they do that on purpose. Here is my biggest complaint, grass range is never available, your only option are the mats. The weird part is you see divots all over the range, apparently they choose who can use the real grass part of the range. Like most, I joined for the golf and range, the bad part is when I want to practice on range, I instead go to Sherrill Park so I can hit off of grass. In a nut shell, I will not be renewing after this year is up and I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

Compared to other Club Corps, this one leaves a lot to be desired. Not well kept at all... it was comparable to a course like West Ridge in Mckinney. That said, the chicken sandwich and beer at the clubhouse were surprisingly delicious, so their chef is obviously doing something right. The youngish waitress was very sweet also, but service was slow and she was distracted despite an almost empty restaurant. Still, food was good, but not enough to make me return. I doubt I will play here again.
