I haven't been here in a hot min but it's just as good as it's always been. Same great food and good prices too. Cantonese food is the best and Canton does it very well. Will come back more often.

Hadn't been here in years. I think we tried some dishes which were not great and just never came back. Shrimp ball 5/5 Ever since caravelle closed we had been looking for a similar shrimp ball and after years finally found one here Sizzling tofu 5/5 Fried silken tofu on sizzling plate with brown sauce. Fried soft shell crab 5/5 Combo fried rice 3/5 They must have forgotten to add seasoning / salt because this was bland.

A Hidden Gem of Family-Style FeastingHaving once married into a Vietnamese family (ex now, thanks for asking), I quickly learned that there's more to Asian cuisine than Pei Wei and Panda Express. Canton Chinese Restaurant is where you'll find the real deal.As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by all the classics: the fish tank at the entrance (always a good sign), floors that probably tell stories if you listen closely, a light grey cash register that flashes your total in neon green like it's announcing your fortune, and--of course--the classic paper placemats doubling as your crash course in the Chinese zodiac. Now, the menu. At Canton, we go big or go home, and by that, I mean family-style. There are three staples you can't skip: 1. Cơm chiên xá xíu (BBQ Pork Fried Rice) - Think fried rice, but with smoky, savory pork that'll make you question why you ever settled for the takeout version. 2. Lẩu (Hot Pot) - Choose your own adventure here. We alternated between the tofu and vegetable hot pot (comforting and light) and the fermented fish hot pot (lẩu mắm) for when you want to make sure the kids remember who's boss. 3. Lo Mein and Shrimp Balls - A favorite for the little ones. Kids love it, but I'm not above snatching a shrimp ball when they're not looking. The experience is as classic as it gets, complete with a lazy Susan in the middle for easy sharing and quick rotations of your favorite dishes. Service is efficient--just raise your hand when you need something. This isn't your typical American spot where the server drops by every five minutes for a "How's everything tasting?" Here, you flag them down when you need to refill that hot tea or get a round two of fried rice.In short, Canton is perfect for those who want a no-frills, family-style feast with Chinese and Vietnamese dishes that deliver. Bring the family and friends, bring your appetite, and maybe brush up on your zodiac sign for fun.

This is a gem for classic Chinese dishes and some delightful surprises, all served in a relaxed, no-frills setting. Their lunch specials are a standout--affordable, generous portions, and packed with flavor. The food always comes out piping hot and fast, which I love. My go-to is the spicy Sichuan shrimp: sweet, spicy, and loaded with jumbo shrimp that are perfectly cooked. The Mongolian beef is another favorite--so tender and rich with flavor, it's hard not to order it every time. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making it a place I keep coming back to. Whether you're dining solo or with friends, Canton hits the spot for quality Chinese food at great prices. It's no wonder I'm a regular!

Highly recommended by my best friend who lives locally (and generous enough to accommodate us!) for our lunch grub before parting ways. Okay, so he doesn't live so locally, the drive was almost 30 minutes which felt like eternity when you're hAngry, "It'll be worth it, I promise!" he says. Situated in a huge strip mall along with other familiar Asian specialty eateries and stores, it won't be hard to find. Parking was a bit of a challenge because there was a farmer's market kinda thing going on. My friend said it may be a good thing, otherwise, there might have been a wait to get seated. Needless to say, we were seated immediately. It's also a good thing we got here close to opening time because despite the farmers market event, more and more people trickled in until most of the tables were occupied. Extensive menu. Lots I wanted to try. But! Other than trying the fried stuffed shrimp balls, I let the rest of my party of 5 decide what else to get. FRIED STUFFED SHRIMP BALLS: Great starter. They didn't skimp on the shrimp. Each bite was so packed with flavor, I didn't even bother with the dip. Get this! CRAB RANGOON: I've had my share of this from many different spots and I yet still have to find one to impress me. This was good, don't get me wrong, but it was more cream cheese than crab. I barely got any hint of crab flavor, if at all. Delish, nonetheless, just don't expect a lotta crab flavor, though. EGGPLANTS WITH CHICKEN: The amount of chicken and eggplant were commensurate with each other. Whatever ingredients they mixed together to make the sauce is practically magic, it was really good. The chicken was tender and moist and the eggplant wasn't too greasy. SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN: This is NOT orange chicken, by any means, it is far better than that! They found a way to maintain the crisp of the chicken even after getting coated with the sauce. It was sweet and sour and savory all well put together. Recommending! GARLIC NOODLES WITH LOBSTER: By far, it was everyone's favorite dish. This was a first for my friend and his son, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Noodles were cooked to a perfect above level al dente, the veggies were fresh and the sauce was perfect. I will admit I enjoyed the dish, but I much enjoyed watching the kid enjoy eating it! It's a must have! FOOD: 4.5.SERVICE: 5. Friendly and service with a smile. VALUE: 4.5. Really worth it! PARKING: Shared with plenty of other eateries. Shouldn't be a problem unless there's that farmers market thing going on. OVERALL: 4.75. It was a great way to end our visit! We enjoyed every bit of everything we had. Looking forward to a future visit, hopefully sooner than later!
