Cake Bar

OMG!!! The Keylime slice is soooo good!!! It's light, airy, citrusy and moist all at the same time....just ultra deliciousness. Being a visitor here, I also ordered a slice of the Italian cream, carrot cake and a whole pumpkin pound cake. The initial customer service lacked friendliness, as I did not feel welcomed at all but by the time I purchased over $50 worth of products and leaving, I was wished a Merry Christmas lol. I think a greeting upon entry would be nice...perhaps folks would be inclined to buy more. Aside from that, the cakes are very good.

I recently ordered a cake for a friend's birthday from cake bar, (classic chocolate for 8-12). The bakery itself is cute, and the service was good! No complaints there! While picking up my pre-order I snagged a couple of cake balls and let me say, if this entire review was based on a cake ball... 10/10. Some of the best cake balls I have ever had. Now for the cake. When I picked it up off the counter I knew we weren't going to be hungry, this girl was heavy. I added the happy birthday (name) for $4 and the white flowers for $10. I think that makes my preorder grand total around $60. Not outlandish, it more than fed everyone in the office. Here's the problem, the cake was... not that good. I had the cake balls the night before so I was really looking forward to this cake. The icing was thick (think fudge), the layers were thin & kind of dry. Just unimpressed for the price. This could have been a bad batch, so to speak, I don't know. Will I try it again? Yes. Would I order it specifically? No. Should you try it? Maybe? 100% try the cake balls

To satisfy my sweet tooth, I went to the Cake Bar. There were quite a few options. I asked what was most popular and was told the strawberry cake. Who doesn't like strawberry cake? It was delicious. I got the German chocolate cake, as well. Also, good. I will be back to try some of the others flavors.

The banana pudding was so good! S/O to the girl who helped me decide on what to get. I did try the cake balls. The lemon cake tasted a little too lemony, you know, that artificial lemon taste. I also tasted hummingbird, while it was good, I'm not a fan of coconut but it was still really good. The inside is beautiful, the service was great, and I will be back to try more.

So, for my birthday I decided to indulge in various cakes from the Cake Bar. I purchased the following flavors:Red Velvet: it was decent- the cream cheese frosting was great. The texture was moist , but I felt like there was something missing to make it the perfect red velvet.Key Lime- I didn't like it at all!!! There was a weird aftertaste that was off putting, I didn't go past the first bite.Piña colada : this was probably my favorite of all the flavors. The cake was airy, yet crumbly. It had just the right amount of sweetness and pineapple. It a must try!!!The wedding cake: it gave it gave Mexican cake vibes , I expected an almond undertone but didn't quite get that. The cake it self was well made and would have probably be a show stopper if paired with fruit glaze.Peanut butter and Jelly - felt like I was eating a PB&J sandwich, you have to be a peanut butter fan to truly enjoy this cake. It's rich, slightly dense but good.All in all the over all experience was okay. The young lady at the counter was friendly but shy.

Alright so don't hate me for saying this, but I'd been hearing so much about this place that maybe I hyped it up in my head, and was let down as a result. But that said.....I thought the cake was good, but nothing over the top. In my opinion it actually lacked the sweetness and flavor I prefer if I'm going to indulge.Me and my friend decided to stop by on a random weeknight, I got the red velvet and he got the wedding cake. The red velvet had nuts in it, which was a first for me. It was moist and tasted good, but I just expected a little more flavor and sweetness from it. His wedding cake he seemed to like but I thought it was basically just a vanilla cake. The service was mediocre, the girl at the counter seemed to have no interest in trying to help us, despite us saying it was our first time visiting. She came off very rude and had no personality at all. Also the shop itself is very small and has nowhere to sit to enjoy your cake. Which is a bummer because with all the restaurants surrounding the area, if someone wanted to stop by for dessert you have.no choice but to take it to go. So we ended up going back to the fire pits in the Art Park to enjoy it because it was a cold night, so sitting right outside wasn't an option. That said while we were sitting there enjoying our two slices of cake, a group came over with different slices and we started chatting about the cakes, and one of the girls let me try her strawberry cake and now that one!! That was what I should've gone with. It was delicious, and flavorful and had real strawberries in the middle as well. One of my coworkers also swears by the German chocolate cake. The hummingbird cake is also one that they're known for, even though it seemingly has a lot of flavors going on, apparently they pair well together from what I've heard. So who knows, maybe I just chose the wrong cakes for my first experience, it was definitely good cake, just not up with the hype I keep hearing about.

Got twice slices, one for my friend who loves anything chocolate. The slices are pre-sliced and lined up behind counter. You can also order different size whole cakes and they will box it up for you. Both the chocolate and old fashioned cake had a nice chocolate flavor without being too rich. They also offer pound cakes by the slice, cookies and drinks in the cooler.I came about an hour after they opened and there was already a line to the door. Thankfully the line moves fairly quick and you have a nice view of the cakes while you wait. If I am in the area again I would stop in for a slice (or two lol)

I've been a fan of this business for about 6 years now. They have been consistent with their cakes, and the prices are amazing. My favorites are Chocolate and Italian Cream. This is my go-to place whenever I want a treat.

I feel like my expectations were too high for this place due to the social media hype. The staff said hello and took my order, nothing good or bad to say on that. It's a cute little cake spot with some nice decor to snap pictures but the cake was just subpar. I got a slice of the old fashioned and the piña colada. I was not a fan of either and I am a really big sweets person so that's saying a lot. The pineapple filling in the piña colada had an odd texture and the frosting on the old fashioned was very bitter. It's not somewhere I would go back to.
