Cactus Mexican Cuisine

Hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that has been in the Elmwood Neighborhood of Oak Cliff for years. Worth a second try. Maybe next time I'll stick to basic dishes like tacos, enchiladas, etc.

Always a good idea to get food from Cactus. The food and aguas frecscas are delicious, service is kind but the best part are the cake slices. Super moist and flavorful!My favorite thing to order has become the potato flautas. I can't resist how crunchy and fresh they are every time. I also love that they have traditional breakfast options, and are willing to customize dishes upon request, and if the kitchen is able to. It's a packed place, and the dining room shows the age of the establishment. I prefer takeout because it can get loud, but the chips and salsa is worth dining in.

Food is very average, we tried the caldo de res witch was the recommendation from a friend, so we order 2 caldos and they took a long time to serve the food at least 15 minutes to deliver to our table.The caldo de res was sooo hot we couldn't eat it right away we had to wait for it to cool down, the smell of the broth smell like FISH !!!! NOT like BEEF and the potatoes were not cooked truly.To me it seems like it was cooked in a hurry and someone in the kitchen put fish consomé instead of beefWe didn't complain about it we would just never comeback again. I Do Not recommend this place.Service was decent and very friendly.

The Chilaquiles and cucumber water are Amazing!!! The ambience is great and it feels like I'm eating in my mommas kitchen. Service is 10/10.

Food is good service is okay at best, very small area indoors, but the price is a bit high. Breakfast for 3 adults and a kid was almost 93 dollars including tip. For what this place offers menu is way overpriced

What an AMAZING FOOD !! My absolutely favorite place for authentic mexican food !!! This is no TexMex and I AM GLAD !! The food makes me nostalgic ! They deserve all success! From the food to their staff !!

Love love love this place this is my second time going and it never disappoints! First of all THE TORTILLAS ARE HAND MADE !so delicious soft amazing I've had the the caldo de rez (beef soup) 10 out of 10 the menudo has pozole a innit and you can ask for patas yummy (beef tripe soup) you can ask to put a piece with bone 10 out of 10 and the pozole (chicken spicy soup) 10 out of 10 I will go again and again it is a small space but worth i

2nd time here. We arrived just in time for a late dinner. Service was awesome. We both ordered torta's . It was a bit pricier this time around .

Great Real Mexican food I just wish the place was bigger!!!! Waitresses are also very nice n quick .

I ordered the chilaquiles here and they were the best- crunchy and the salsa was so good! The portions are a great size and all the staff is really friendly! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some authentic mexican food & a nice environment
