Christina M. "The Great Big Game Show was such a fun group experience! The one thing I will say it is pricey and if you don't have a bigger group to go with it might not be as fun. Also, you are paired with strangers- unless you pay a huge premium to have a private party. But aside from that I really enjoyed my time and loved the competitiveness. This would be so fun for a corporate team building activity. Our host was super funny and made the time a lot of fun. I wish the mini games were longer but they were super fun. From trivia to spinning the wheel to building up blocks- you'll just have to experience it yourself!I would definitely go back if I was invited!"

We had talked about trying out some of the other ones out of area but never really had gotten the chance with that group of friends. I recently found out they had added this location with a few room experiences that the Grapevine one didn't have. Plus, My youngest kiddo also had just discovered his love of doing escape games when we went to Minneapolis location when we went up there to visit, and there we did Mission Mars. (Why they don't have Mission Mars in Houston, with it being near NASA is crazy!) So at The Colony we did The Depths & Special Ops: Mysterious Market. Without giving anything away, while I liked a twist in the market room ... I think of the two The Depths was our favorite. We lucked out and had some fun folk end up being booked in the room with us. I totally recommend taking advantage of the after game deals they offer if you plan on doing other rooms. They do plan on adding a Train themed room at the end of the year/start of the new year that we do plan on trying out!"

It allowed a full hour, and you get 2 clues plus a 3rd if you check in on social media (done!). We ended up getting pretty stumped at one part, using 1 clue, and then finishing with about 14 minutes to spare. I think with a small group - 2 to 4 - it could have been very very challenging to finish in time - but we had a blast with our group. Super creative and well-thought-out room. It's notable that we had a 10 PM timeslot, so we had dinner and drinks first, and I'm sure having drinks beforehand made it extra fun. =) There were a few folks finishing rooms when we arrived, but I think we were the last ones out. I don't know if that's normal for a Saturday night, but I would assume that 10 PM isn't the most popular timeslot (lol). The intro videos were helpful, especially for newbies like my wife and me. The rest of our group had done at least 1 escape room before, btw.Karina was our game master and she was great - definitely on point, friendly, and professional.I went from not being the least bit interested in escape rooms to very much wanting to do more of them! Super fun with a fun group and pregaming - highly recommended."

We also had a really fun group and amazing guide - Brianna. We started at Baboush, moved to a French bakery named Bisous bisous then had some amazing Thai at Ka Thai and finished with great BBQ at The rustic. Throughout the tour you also had the option to add on custom cocktails. We had the opportunity to ride the trolly twice and even check out the trolley garage and learn a bit of history there. We were promptly greeted and checked in by the amazing friendly Laurel! We did the Zombie themed escape room. We finished with a few minutes left, with a little help from Laurel. It's hard to review these because I don't want to give things away. The good:Laurel the manager.Clues that didn't just give you the answer, just steered you towards the thing ya overlooked. Not too hard of a room. I would sad mid level difficultly. Great production value.Variety of different puzzles to hunt. When time was running out Laurel didn't make us suffer, she let us know we already had what we were looking for and somehow put back down. Never over detailed with the clues. The not perfect:No red herrings, nothing extra in the room, what you need and is puzzle related almost stands out. But maybe not to all?WE WILL BE BACK!"

What a cool concept it is and it actually produces art that you want to hang up and display. You choose your colors, and layer them in such a way in a cup, and then pour them out onto the canvas and "swirl" the canvas around to produce the art. The staff was so helpful and did their best to help you create the masterpiece you wanted! You can do tumblers, and different size canvases and they even have special classes where you can make some of the more complicated specific art such as a beach with rocks. We had 10 people in our group and at the beginning seemed like we were not going to figure this thing out but we finally started to work together and figure it out. One of the girls that was with us is closterphobic but she didnt seem to be bothered by the room and was a great help...just in case anyone else was having second thoughts about that.We took a group picture at the end that was soon uploaded to facebook....great memories! One of the employees came in at the beginning and kinda explained on how things would go and they do give 3 clues throughout your hour time limit if you absolutely want it. The employee also explained the newest "Pirate Ship" room that is multiple stories that we should look into next time we come. Our kids hadn't gotten into Escape Games at that point, but my youngest kid has finally gotten into them. so we brought him to do playground here at the Grapevine location. Even though 2 of us had done playground before, it had been 5 years so we had forgotten a lot of clues; plus a number of things had changed. Which says a lot about the re-play-ablity of these roomsCheck in was awesome, Sage was super nice & had an awesome conversation with our kiddo about pokemon while we signed in for the waver forms. Alex with the green hair helped us while we did the room and was outstanding! Great hints given we had a smaller group in a room made for a bigger group. So major shout outs to Sage & Alex with the green hair! We'd only ever been to D14 north of Dallas before. First, 878's play area seems huge by comparison. Likely because it is spread out over a much larger area. The field is populated with several concentrations of structures and offers a variety of conditions. You can hunker down in a wooded area and wait to launch an ambush or rush in to take various "town" areas with concentrated buildings. This means you'll have a wide variety of play experiences to choose from. The field has a well-run little store with people that can help tech the various equipment problems that always seem to arise when playing. We've always had a good time with the people there. Good mix of ages and levels of experience. We've now been to two milsim events -Siegfried Breakthrough- and that takes the Airsoft experience to a whole different level. Highly recommended if you have never done it before be, be ready, it will wear you out."

Pam D. "Although this was not the most challenging or innovative escape room I've been in, I will give Escapology props for the overall experience. One of the main reasons we chose Escapology was affordability and thus, the ability to book out an entire room. Sorry, strangers, but I just don't enjoy doing mind-bending puzzles with you. We paid for all the spots in our room and it was quite affordable. If you're interested in doing the same, I'd recommend a different approach: check out their bookings ahead of time online. If they seem pretty free, head on down there without a reservation. Check in a few minutes before each time slot and see if anyone is registered to play. If not, you can just book however many spots you need rather than booking out all the spots. That will save you some cash! The room we did was The Code. I would rate this room a 5/10 for difficulty. I felt some of the "clues" were lacking. Without giving too much away, I'll just say this. At other escape rooms I've been to, one clue gives you the answer to another. So if you need to collect 5 items and then place them in an order, some other clue/puzzle will tell you the order. This room it was less complex than that, so we were often thought we were missing clues that didn't exist. That just left a little to be desired for me. However, there was one clue that was particularly obscure, and I'd be really surprised if anyone ever gets the answer without a hint. Overall the room was pretty light on the challenge, but still fun - we made it out with about 14 minutes left. The area of Escapology is a welcome respite from the rest of Shenanigans. It felt cool and modern, a contrast to the kids arcade surrounding the place. We were even able to get beers (at a great price!) at Escapology. Had we planned better, we may have lounged for a while at Escapology and done a second room. Hint: they should really offer a discount for a same-day second or third room! One other customer service note: Although our GPS originally said we'd arrive 30 minutes early, we ended up being nearly an HOUR late for our escape room experience (!) There was a huge accident on the bridge, and there was no escaping the traffic (pun intended). We did try calling Escapology multiple times to notify them of our tardiness. Unfortunately there is no direct line for Escapology that we could find, and the Shenanigans main line was super unhelpful. That should be resolved; there should be some easy way for us to call and advise we were going to be late. They did eventually call us about 10 minutes after our appointment asking where we were, and we were able to explain the circumstances. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us despite the mess and our lateness. The employees were very forgiving and totally fine -- probably because they didn't have a ton of reservations. But whatever the reason, it was a relief that they weren't angry with us. Escape rooms are for entertainment, after all! We will definitely return to Escapology! I would 100% recommend this escape room for a larger group (corporate outings). Given there are so many other activities at Shenanigans, it'd be a fun filled event for any group."

I believe a designated party person should be able to check in with the table. Jennifer H. "This review is for the Bishop Arts Tour. We got a Groupon, so we thought the price was a good deal, but honestly, we weren't impressed by this tour. Even with the Groupon deal, it wasn't worth the value. I've been to a few food tours, and my favorite part is trying popular, high quality food and learning about the city. There is also usually a lot of food, so I always end up leaving stuffed. For this food tour, the food quality and quantity were disappointing. However, the manager was kind and let two of our friends join the tour even though the tour was overbooked, so I appreciate the flexibility. The tour ended up being 18 people, so it definitely felt too overcrowded, and my friends didn't end up enjoying the tour very much so maybe it would have been better if they didn't join. The first stop was Eno's Pizza Tavern. It was literally just pizza, so I didn't think there was anything special, although my boyfriend said he liked it. We also came about 10 mins late to the food tour, so the pizza wasn't hot. 3/5 stars for the pizza in my opinion. The next stop was Parker Barrows (a sandwich place). This was our least favorite spot (collective agreement from our party). The sandwich was nothing special, and we all thought we could get a better sandwich from Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. 1/5 stars for this place. The next stop was Lockhart BBQ. You get a tiny piece of brisket with a small scoop of Mac and cheese. Brisket was pretty dry, and Mac and cheese wasn't flavorful. Would probably give 3/5 stars. Lastly, was Azúcar (an ice cream place). I got half a scoop of the Reese's flavor and half a scoop of their best seller (guava, cream cheese, cookies). Flavor and texture was just average. The flavor was unique but wasn't executed very well. 3/5 stars for the ice cream. For the tour itself, our guide Kimberly gave a talk about Bonnie and Clyde in the beginning, and she was knowledgeable. We didn't walk around the area as much as I thought we would, and I was hoping for more pearls and information about the Bishop Arts District. The tour was estimated to take around 3.5 hours, but it was really only around 2 hours. I felt like most of the time spent was just waiting around, instead of receiving information about the foods we ate or about the locations. To make this tour better, the tour should highlight higher quality locations that make the Bishop Arts district special. Food portions should also be bigger. I felt like most people on the tour didn't eat much pizza in the first stop because we were warned to pace ourselves, so there ended up being leftovers. However, the remaining food for the tour had small portions, so we all actually could have had more pizza. If the tour is indicated to be 3.5 hours, then we should receive high quality information about the area and the food, and there should be more places to sight-see. In summary, I would not recommend the Bishop Arts Tour. You are better off going on your own and trying different foods at your own pace."

And all the Francis's (staff) are great facilitators, keeping the energy high and explaining the games to us in a comprehensive way so that we were safe the entire time.My favorite was the high ropes course - they provide harnesses so that you're completely safe, and they do a whole orientation beforehand to teach you how to go through the course safely. Francis will also ensure you're safe as you biplane through the space, too!We visited as a group of about 20 people and had a blast! The trip took about 25 minutes and we had a blast. I asked the little if he'd want to come back and do it again next year and he said absolutely. I know that they also offer other "adventures" such as zip lining however the little isn't up to that just yet. The only downfall is we came when the previous days events got cancelled due to the rain so the wait time was EXTREMELY long - like 4 hours between the time of us arriving, getting in line to validate our ticket, and getting on the truck. They did try to keep us entertained by showing a movie and having a food truck, however I should have did like some other folks who left and came back instead of sitting out in the cold. Lori D. "I have had some frustrating weeks this year because I am in sales and ever since Covid...Things are harder to get. It seems like everything is always on backorder. It's so easy to be frustrated but at the same time I'm happy that I have a job. So, I needed to go smash some stuff. I've seen this on TV and this was sort of on my bucket list of things to do so during fall break we intended to go to one in Mansfield, but it was totally booked. So I got on my research and found this location. They actually do a smash room and a splatter room for those who love to just get paint everywhere. We signed up for the smash room and what I liked about this one was that they took Children along with parents. Some of the locations I researched you had to be over a certain age to attend. My son and his little friend were both 10 years old, I will say this location is a little further out of the way because we live in Arlington but again given the restrictions and age this was something that we could definitely do at this location. It wasn't too far from downtown Ft. Worth. I have to say I've never been in this area and it was a quaint little area, so if you're looking for this place as you're driving....you want to see a hamburger place. It's one of those old looking hamburger places and then you are right next to the building where there's like an auto place and some other businesses. The smash room is on the side of this building right after the hamburger place. we got the package where we could have 25 minutes as a group of 4 and some rather large items. I also added a printer. I've always wanted to smash a printer or TV. You can add on other items if you want to smash certain things beyond what they give you. So we arrived and it was a very efficient process. They gave us a locker to put our things in. We didn't bring our phone in because we didn't want to drop it or accidentally smash it. They gave us jumpsuits and mask as well as gloves. They were very Clean because you had to use plastic gloves before putting them on. You even had a thing to brush your shoes when you exited the door from the smash room. They take pictures and you can add those on for a fee as well so we got the pictures as we were smashing things. It also came with a video in that package. They also let you pick the type of music you want to hear and give you a water after you are done. We finished smashing a lot of things before the time was up and we really got a little tired because smashing things takes quite a bit of effort. I think they kind of needed extra bats and other tools because the crowbar was heavy and the mallet was a metal heavy one that was hard to swing around. I also didn't like some of the toys that were part of the package because I am figuring out that some toys they make for kids are virtually indestructible. I get it because you don't want kids to destroy it and get injured so those probably aren't very good things to have a smash room. Overall we enjoyed this experience. It did let us get out our frustrations and it was something we could say we had done at least once. Whenever I feel the need to destroy some more things, I will definitely make another appointment here. We enjoyed our time."
