Kristina C. "My kids loved this place. It was nice to have a spot where they could run around and have fun that was enclosed and easy for me to supervise. This establishment is large enough for the kids to explore and have fun without getting bored. There are slides, obstacle courses, wall climbing, manually operated carousels, trampolines, foam pits, and ball pits. I would recommend this for kids ages 3-10. There are snacks (chips, cotton candy, sodas, etc.) available for purchase but we brought our own water bottles from home. The staff was friendly. For about $12 per child you can get unlimited play. We stayed for about 2 hours. My only complaint is the seating for parents. The chairs are either bent or broken and not very supportive. They should invest in sturdy benches rather than the seating that they currently have. I ended up standing the entire time that my kids played."

They were so wonderful and on top of things. This was by far the least stressful party I've ever planned. Alycia the owner was in communication about everything. Miss Megann was in charge the day of the party and she was so wonderful with all the kiddos. They all made slime and had a blast! Megann was so WONDERFUL. The party was absolutely effortless. We showed up with Cupcakes, drinks, and goodie bags. Everything else was handled by A Joyful Mess from plates, napkins, plastic wear, supplies, decorations, cleanup, etc.Thank you so much for a perfect party. We will definitely be back!"

K G. "This is, in my opinion, the best horse back riding and horse training facility there is. Summer Hill offers a program to fit every horse and rider. If you have never ridden before they have a excellent beginner program with a trainer that has ridden with the head trainers since she was a child (that means that when you are ready to advance you will not have any confusion as all three have an identical teaching style.) If you are a more experienced rider, they will tailor your training program to best fit you (and your horse if you have one)!!! The head trainer has been working with horses for most of her life, and has been teaching for over 15 years now. She has an amazing natural ability with horses and is now joined by her daughter as her assistant head trainer. If you are looking to board your horse they off a full custom care program designed to fit your horse and what he needs. Top notch!!! I can go on forever about how great this place is!!!!"

We moved to Forney, and switched my daughter to By the Barnyard Gate in Forney (owned by the same family). I wish I could say that I love Barnyard as much as I did Whistlestop! So many of the staff and teachers at Barnyard just don't seem to care or want to be there. I NEVER get updates about my child's day at Barnyard, but I got them daily at Whistlestop! Everyone took the time at Whistlestop to get to know me, my family, and my daughter at Whistlestop. Now, at Barnyard...I'm fairly certain no one except my daughter's actual teachers know either of us. In fact, every time someone different has been to pick her up (i.e, my Mom, Dad, mother in law, etc...) no one has bothered to ask them for any information. Thankfully, they are people that were on the list...but what if they weren't?! Needless to say, I wish we could go back to Whistlestop in Rowlett. (We'll be taking my daughter out of Barnyard very soon!) Whistlestop Station in Rowlett is a Phenomenal School!"

Jo L. "I honestly am not sure why there is so many negative reviews. I noticed they were all about actual classes. I haven't had experience with that yet. I discovered this place when I found out they offer a Parents Night Out every Friday and Saturday! And it is totally affordable! Cheaper than getting a babysitter! The first time I went to drop my son off, like many parents I stayed a while to check the place out and see how he would be there with the staffs that works there to supervise the kids. I was really impressed by a young staff named Deshawn. When he learned that it was not son's first time. He immediately told him that he is welcomed to hang out with him that night. So he would comfortable. This place is also Massive! Different rooms with different things to do. They even have a zipline for the kids! Another thing I love is that you ,as the parent, have the option to have your kiddos play with kids around their own age. Or they can go play with kids of all ages. They have different color wrist band to let the staff know. The cost of the PNO also includes dinner! Cheese pizza and water. Not much but it is easier than packing a dinner for them. My son always ask for more! LolWhen I picked him up at the end of the night. My son didn't want to leave- always a great sign. And all the staff knew his name too! He even made some great friends that he asks to see every week :)So over all, I'm very pleased with this low cost option for parents to have a night out to themselves. It's a little bit of a drive for me since I live in Frisco. But I make that drive every week now since my son is always asking me to take him back!"

I was here for a birthday, which is held in a closed off space with two rooms, one that had a refrigerator and sink/counter space and the other room was the seating area and space where they conducted the show. With all the tables in there, it's pretty tight. The host was provided 3 members/volunteers of Sci-Tech for the party. While they were young, they were professional and savvy in managing and entertaining the children. I was pretty impressed and wish I were that confident at that age. As for the rest of the facility, it's pretty neat. A lot of hands on activities for young ones to engage with and observe. I didn't notice anything out of commissions or broken, so I'm assuming they take good care of everything. It is a bit on the smaller end and definitely targeted at younger children, probably 7 and younger? 8 is a maybe, but possibly stretching it. Ample parking in front of the building. Restroom wasn't in Sci-tech, but is in the building."

Laura S. "This place is awesome--I can't believe I've never heard of it before. It is super bizarre and lots of fun. Spark is basically an open, warehouse-like space. One room is decorated with bright mosaics and colorful light fixtures, and there are several tables for art projects and parties. Another room houses a multi-story enclosed playground made entirely of upcycled material (aka trash). There is, inexplicably, a third room decorated like an abandoned space ship. It is all so much fun. The playground area is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. It's like a crazy post-apocalyptic maze sculpted from car bumpers and wire. There are so many unexpected touches, like tunnels that go to other rooms, a Pink Panther display, and the massive metal slide that you can only access by crawling through a net. The whole room is full of weird, creative tchotchkes. My son also loves the giant blocks and giant Lite Brite. Agree with the website and other reviewers that Spark is best for kids aged about 7 and up. Durable clothes are a must (no leggings or athletic pants - suggest cotton and denim).Reasonably priced at $10/person with no time limit, not crowded, free parking right outside. Highly recommend! I'm shocked this place isn't packed every Saturday but also love the privacy and free run of the space!!"

The facility is very large by kind of off the beaten path. You would never just stumble upon this place. Inside you will find a dozen or so cages, half with machines and half you can rent to throw live BP or practice pitching. The machine setup is nice. All cages have baseball and softball (fast or slow) and all have adjustable speeds. 40, 50, 60 or 70 mph. You just swipe a card and pick your speed. We didn't really plan this ahead of time, so this was just something we literally found on-the-go on-route. It ended up being a pretty cool stop. They have a few different things going on, and one of the things that drew me in the most was the Magic Planet exhibit. It just looked cool from the website. And it was pretty interesting, though not exactly what I expected. I was thinking it'd be maybe more immersive and large, like a planetarium. It was more like a very large globe in a small room, and you could play around with it to see things like the earth, moon, other planets, and stuff like tectonic plates. You do have to have a worker there to do it for you though, and I wish we could have played around with it ourselves. I think I would have been more comfortable looking at everything it can do, but I do understand that with something like that they have to be careful opening it up for just anyone to use any time without supervision, so I get it.Another thing I was drawn to was that there's a butterfly garden. Those are always so fun! I was glad that there were a good amount of butterflies in there, not just a few. On the way to the butterfly house, we were able to see some animals outside. They had more unique things, though I can't remember what they were, but I think they were mostly native animals. Inside they had things like fossils, snakes, and more.We only had a short amount of time before we needed to get back on the road, so we didn't see everything, but we hit the main things I was excited about, and I'm glad we squeezed this unplanned thing in on a whim!!"

Many of the notes in my original review still apply, so check those out for the full details. Again, I do NOT have a kid attending The Palaestra for gymnastics. This is JUST a review based on attending birthday parties here.Since our original visit, the lawyers got a hold of this place. This didn't affect the kids' fun very much, but it did but a little damper on us adults and made the place feel more uptight. Last time we had multiple people in our party hurt themselves, which, hey, was because when adults try to do crazy kid stuff on trampolines... that sort of thing can happen. Nobody sued because our group is cool like that, but it was notably more uptight this time. I can't really blame the place for making this move, but I'm just being honest - last time it was super fun and this time it was... a more typical experience with more rules. So... ya know...Other minus one star: they have recycle bins that are a joke. I'm the guy who snags water bottles sitting neatly on top of the rest of the trash and transfers them to the recycle bin. Here, I found out that their recycle bins are a joke. Literally. They're just more trash cans with labels to make people feel good, thinking they're recycling when they're not. As someone who goes out of their way to not be wasteful, this genuinely pissed me off. Either recycle or don't. Don't lie to me about it. I'm happy to throw plastic bottles in the back of the car to recycle at home. Don't put out "recycle" bins to make me unwittingly trash something that's perfectly recyclable. The kids had a great time, just like the first birthday party I attended here. I think it'd still be a good place to have kids' birthday parties, if you go in knowing there are plenty of rules, etc. But this time I left with a sour taste in my mouth."

Jaleesa R. "As of October 4, 2022, this daycare has officially been shut down by the state. I received an email on this day at 5:28pm as I was pulling into the daycare to pick up my children. It's been almost 7 days since the center closed and no one is getting back to me about the refund of the tuition I paid. We were given no explanation as to why the daycare closed. In the email the director lied and said she didn't know why, but when she got more information she would let us know. I know this is a lie because the daycare AND Ms. Ibrahim were BOTH on probation by the state. Ms. Ibrahim wasn't allowed to step foot on the daycare premises at all, and had several violations against her. Something had been going on for quite some time and the parents were left in the dark about it all. I came into the center a couple weeks ago to sign some paper work and saw a sheet hanging up advising the center had been on probation since October 2021. When I asked a teacher about it she nonchalantly said oh it's nothing, it was just an issue with a teacher. My husband and I had already discussed taking them out this daycare because of other issues of neglect and unorganization, but this was the LAST straw. If you look on Texas health website,https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child_Care/CCLNET/Source/Provider/ppComplianceHistory.aspx?fid=1316390&tab=2 , you will see the scary long list of violations and the confirmation of the center being on probation. Parents PLEASE check this website before taking your child to ANY daycare. I'm glad this place got shut down because the director Ms. Ibrahim had an evil user spirit and treated her employees poorly. I witnessed the way she talked to the BLACK teachers and she was very disrespectful. The teachers themselves said Ms. Ibrahim was racist. Just look at her responses to the negative reviews on google! I can only imagine how she treated the children, she probably talked to the students the same way. The turnover at this center was alarming. Every month my child had a new teacher and no one would ever introduce themselves, so I never knew who my children's teachers were unless I asked. The only one that was consistent was Ms. Jackson who we loved dearly and my children loved her too. She also put in her 2 weeks notice because of mistreatment from Ms. Ibrahim. This center lost a lot of good teachers due to the director,  Ms. Jones,  Ms. Tamika, Ms. Paige. Honestly the center went down hill once the teachers I just listed quit. After this, the director just started hiring anyone off the street it seemed like. They all looked young and ghetto, had ZERO communication skills, unlicensed, didn't introduce themselves and clearly unqualified to be dealing with children all day. There were always new teachers, and no one ever asked for ID when parents were picking up kids. They would give parents the wrong child, leaving children on the school bus. There was talk about one of the teachers abusing kids, so she was forced to quit. I don't believe any of these teachers were properly licensed and certified. If the teachers that work there are telling you to leave due to countless issues, then you know something is wrong. My children were given to me constantly with runny and crusty faces, hands dirty, clothes peed on. I'd go home and change them and would see crust in their diapers, looked like they werent wiped well at all. They would come home with random scratches and marks and no one at the center could explain how it happened. They had too many students per teacher and there was clear negligence with the teachers. My children didn't learn much attending this daycare. I regret not leaving sooner. I pray this center NEVER opens again and that Ms. Ibrahim never works at another daycare in her life."
