"You're supposed to seat yourself so I did. Was greeted as I walked to a table. Then crickets. Took my drink order then crickets again. After I got my drink, he left. Came back and asked if I wanted to order food. I'm not sitting at the bar... So yeah, it would seem like I would want food to go with my iced tea. Was about to leave when the waiter came to take my order. Couple who came it after me -- greeted right away, drink order taken and brought out, took order right away. Oh, they got their sandwiches and fries while my potato skins were still in the kitchen. What started as three tables of customers on that side of the restaurant ended up as six tables with me being the only single diner. The nice thing about single diners at lunch is that they don't tend to linger. I could have eaten, paid and left quickly. I had hope when the waiter asked me as he was going into the kitchen if I wanted ranch or sour cream with those potato skins. Sour cream, a very simple item. After a half hour and no food, I left cash for my drink and left. I told my waiter who was ringing something up that I was leaving and that it was unclear how people who came in after me were already midway through their meal. He's like "you're good". No, I'm not good. While my shirt had the name of another city on it, I live here. However, this is one place I'll never bother returning to. That's 30 minutes of my life that I'll never get back."
"Classic Irish Pub/Dive Bar! Perfect for a casual drink and snack moment!Ambiance & Service: Rustic, classic pub feel. Karaoke night made it extra fun! Our server was super welcoming, friendly, and attentive!Food & Drink:- Blood Orange Lemonade: So sweet and refreshing! 10/10 recommend!- Buffalo Cheese Curds: Perfectly fried and cheesy. Loved the sides of buffalo sauce, ranch, and marinara to dip in. Perfect app!TL;DR: Fun pub vibe, great service, tasty drinks, and solid bar snacks!"
"This place is a place that my family has been going to for years. Great drinks, great food, great service. The trifecta of a Lakewood establishment and damn consistent. My favorite is the mussels. I want the at least once a week. Also, damn hood martinis."
"I came here a few weeks ago, and my experience was "meh." My server started off strong and then the service just fizzled. You know, where the server disappears after the food comes only to return when it's time to pay. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip, Szechuan orange chicken, tacos, the passion fruit and mango agua fresca, and the raspberry drop. The dip was just okay and bland, however the accompanying chips were good. I wish the dip had more cheese the Orange chicken was okay the riced was basic the orange chicken to me tasted bland and the pieces I had wasn't high quality. I was very disappointed. The tacos however were scrumptious these are a must try.As far as the drinks surprisingly the passion fruit mango aqua fresca was the standout compared to the raspberry drop. My raspberry drop just wasn't mixed well. It wasn't sweet either. As I expected.Unfortunately I won't be back mainly due to service i experienced. The menu is cast so I'm assuming certain things would be better than others."
"Moved from McKinney about a year ago. My wife (now) and I had great experiences at the Pub and miss it. Great Old Fashioneds, great Guinness and great food.Loved sitting on the porch watching the people go by."
"One of the best bars in Dallas. Great atmosphere, solid food options if you're hungry, and good craft cocktails. Come for karaoke night on Fridays or live music on Saturday night. It gets loud but there is always a good vibe, plenty of seating options and standing area.Wouldn't stray from their craft cocktail menu, but this is a great bar for the basics, and the perfect place for the start of your night out."
"Employees are friendly. I really like their $5 whiskey special. I've tried the chicken piccata and their potato scoops. Both were solid. If you order the scoops, ask for the seasoning on the side."
"So many people inside this joint. So many people. Everybody just watching the games happening. Kinda fun honestly. Sheridan the waitress (friend of my friend cam bam grand slam woodall) was a gem and a half. My Dr Pepper was tasty. Got the double whiskey something or other burger and it was delectable. Booth had a caged light thing that made the whole thing have a mysterious, almost pirates of the Caribbean vibe. Not complaining. No jack sparrow sightings."

Somebody call the Knights of Nee and Sir Lancelot, and tell them about The Holy Grail! This place is great! My friend and fellow Yelper Diana D. hipped me to this place and it has quickly become a favorite! The atmosphere is very on-theme as a medieval tavern. There is an extensive drink menu, with particularly well-crafted (read "strong") bourbon drinks, and all for $10-$12! The Lavender Old Fashioned is really great if you're into Old Fashioneds, and the Bulleit Proof is also really great and extremely strong! As for food, I've had the fried pickles, the fried goat cheese, the brisket grilled cheese sandwich, and the meatloaf. Everything has been good! No notes. The service at The Holy Grail has been consistently good the times I've been here as well. The staff are all very friendly and patient. I look forward to coming back to try more things and have more of the menu. If you're looking for a good no-frills bar and grill at a decent price, your quest ends here. It really is "the Holy Grail."

I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. It's always a great atmosphere, cold beer on tap, TV's everywhere. Oh, and if you're a Cowboys, Alabama, or Manchester United fan, this bar is for you. Every game is a huge meet up of other local fans. Which is fun, especially for the premier league. Overall, this pub reminds me of being in Europe, but it's located deep in the heart of Uptown.

This place is awesome! We first visited a couple weeks ago and we've been back 6 times! The food is off the charts good. Especially their meatloaf! I think it's the best meatloaf I've ever had. They have a dive bar ambiance, the kind of place where it's the same regulars nearly every time you visit. The staff is great, awesome conversation and humor. The staff have all been there 5-20 years, so they really know the menu. Great place, and will definitely remain on our rotation.

No wait! Lots of parking. Excellent location in Grandscape. They had great St Patrick's menu and drinks had the espresso martini. Eggs, shepherd's pie and ahi tower all delish. Plus: had a birthday bonus dessert!. We didn't go to the rooftop area, cool, modern and def a recommended spot!

Came here with a friend to chill and get dinner and drinks. Lively atmosphere with pretty good customer service depending who you get. We started with a girl waitress who I didn't care for, then ended up with a guy later who had much more energy and cust service skills. Food was just alright. Tried their "famous" stew and the flavor was good, but it came out in a toddler-sized portion. Not even sure why they offered that size to adults I may come back if someone drags me, but only for the drinks.

Went here last night because we heard it was decorated for Christmas and you bet it was! The outside looked amazing and really made you feel like you were in a different country in a pub in the snow. The inside was also decked out amazingly. 10/10 did not disappoint. Our service was great. We were on the waitlist for under the amount of time the hostess told us and and waitress was attentive and nice! When you walk in, not only are you in awe of the Christmas decorations, but of how AMAZING it smells in there. I knew instantly it was going to be a good place for dinner since it smelled so incredible. I got the Patty Melt and it was great! The fries were amazing. I'm not a fan of skinny fries but the seasoning on them was incredible. My patty welt was huge and tasted just like I was expecting. Was also very flavorful. My friend got the fish and chips and said it was great as well, and the fry "chips" were great. Presentation wise the food looked amazing as well. The reason it loses a star is for our "Christmas" drinks. We ordered a "polar bear espresso martini" off the special holiday menu and I was so excited for it to be Christmassy in some way. Sadly, there was no "polar bear" aspect to it. We saw other drinks come in fun Christmas cups etc but sadly ours did not. This was my first time getting an espresso martini and it was also just horrible. There was no cream to it whatsoever which I heard it is supposed to have. I was pretty bummed since it tasted like straight vodka and coffee which I could have made at home and spared the very steep $16. All in all, food and decoration wise, this place is amazing! Definitely come for the Christmas time. But beware of the polar bear espresso martini, as it is neither Christmassy nor enjoyable to drink.

"I love the LAKEWOOD GROWLER!! I have always been a fan of the beer selection and staff. This has been my go to spot for almost 2 years. Just a nice place to drink beer and have a low key night. 30+ beers on tap absolutely no liquor and a few wine choices but nothing fancy because this is by far a craft beer bar. Some nights they have special tappings and buy the pint keep the glass nights. But this is definitely a place that has a beer for everyone's liking. Don't know what to pick-- just ask!! Emily and Ross definitely know what's being served up and can give you a good idea of the flavor profile of the beers. There are always NEW beers to enjoy, and if you can't commit to one then do a flight of 5 oz pours. Can't go wrong there. They don't serve food here, but they have popcorn to snack on. The best thing is that there are several places to eat within walking distance, so call in your order or pick it up before arriving and bring it down for a beer. The Growler is not a big place and it is often crowded. In less than two years, I think they have outgrown their space!! I do not want them to move whatsoever, but they do need more seating. The only thing or negative thing I can think of about this place is--- I dislike walking in and see kids and/or babies. That just does not make sense to me or why they are even allowed in this kind of establishment. SMH"
"Great English public house.I decided on the Cottage Pie and was not disappointed. Ground beef, carrots, peas in a delicious gravy topped with mashed potatoes and "crowned" with cheddar cheese. There are at least 16 draft beers on tap.The staff was friendly, attentive and personable. It's a great place for a relaxing lunch, gathering with friends & family and you can bring your dog as there's seating outside at the patio. 21 & up after 9:00 pm. There's free public parking within a block."
"Smoking and vaping allowed. Friendly bartenders. Old school. Good drink prices. Parking in the back. If I was the "Bar rescue" TV host, I would open the space up and recommend tearing down some of the brick wall that separates the bar & table space from the pool tables and maybe some of the waist high wall. Also, clean up the clutter behind the black curtain near the back pool table. Decent food."
"Love the Barley House! Always a fun time to go here with friends and family. They have AMAZING cover bands on the weekend and their mozzarella sticks are some of the best in Dallas. Thank you for a great time, Scott and the Barley team!"
"The food and service were great! Every year my dad and I take a pause from the holiday craziness to enjoy a pint of beer and some good pub food. The fish and chips were great!!! Light and crispy! The service was also great! We came for lunch so the crowd was light.Another great spot for our annual tradition!"
"Came back on Saturday for the first time in awhile. Not sure if there were any drink specials since my buddies got me. We had about 50 shots or so, and it wasn't too expensive. Also had the sampler appetizer platter, that was pretty good as well."
"Great local pub. Mom and pop type vibes! Not much parking in the area. Surrounded by tons of other cute spots all walking distance.Very small and intimate."
"Sometimes you get smiled on. My husband bought a Groupon and neglected to notice that the emphasis was on the place being a bar not a restaurant and we no longer drink. So with some trepidation, we traveled up to Legacy and the Tollway and found a pleasant surprise in Scruffy Duffies. With an actual somewhat scruffy brick, board, wrought iron and sports bar/pub atmosphere, the main room is loud and cavernous with multiple jumbo screens and a long bar across one end. There's a small pool room separate from the main room and then, through another door, is the patio. Now the patio is unusual in that it's not actually outdoors; the parking garage is above it. However, wrought iron doors open onto the sidewalk, NOLA style, and there are misters and fans and built in heaters and a fireplace for the colder months. It's a terrific design and no one but us was interested in being out there. It was perfect; but it was a Tuesday, so I wouldn't expect that on a weekend, anytime. The food was also surprisingly good. We split two sandwiches: a club sandwich that was the perfect bite with thick bacon and a pesto aioli and a savory Philly Cheese Steak on a wonderfully fresh and soft hoagie roll. They came with your choice of fries or tots. We tried both and they were terrific - soft inside and crunchy outside. Both sandwiches were also modestly priced. My spouse wanted to try the crispy chicken wings and of the 4 available versions, he opted for Cajun. The 10 wings for $13.00 came with giant carrot and celery sticks with ranch dressing. The wings were perfectly cooked and crispy; but the seasoning, although flavorful, didn't strike me as Cajun and was simply too salty. It lacked any heat or paprika. They were good with the ranch dressing, though.A special mention about our server, Rian. She made an effort to meet us at the door, seat us out on the patio and then had to continue to attend to only us out there while keeping tabs on everyone else inside. She was exceptionally busy; but always kept an eye on us. I never saw anyone else. She had a lovely personality, as well.We liked Scruffy Duffies. Parking was easy - across the street or in the garage. It's a comfy place to eat, drink and watch sports. I noticed they have a live DJ on Friday and Saturdays and all kind of specials through the week. We had a good time and would return."
"Stopped by Brass Tap to catch the Mavs game. It was a little hard to find initially, as it's tucked into the middle of the shopping center. We each had a beer flight which I'm glad the waitress told us about, as I didn't see it on the menu anywhere and it appears the regulars beside us didn't know about it either. Anyways, we just got that and the fried shrimp basket to share . They have a pretty solid beer menu, but if that's not your thing, they also have a limited wine and cocktail menu for you. The beer flight choices I got were : Freaky Deaky, Honey Kolsch, Cali Squeeze and Bishop Dark Cider My favs out of those, were the Dark Cider and Cali Squeeze, the Kolsch and Freaky Deaky were also good just wouldn't be able to drink a whole glass of them as I'm not a big beer drinker so they were a bit stronger tasting for me. The service was good, the place is small but good to catch some sports as they had plenty of TVs around. Good for kids to join as well."
"Came here for first time with a friend. They had a huge birthday party going on, like over 80 people! It was cool. Everyone was nice and the music was good. They only have 2-3 pool tables tho but a nice size dance floor for a bar its size. Also the patio is nicely covered! The 1st long island I had was good, the 2nd wasnt. Guess it was so packed diff person made it.The place is clean and I didnt try their food but it looked good from others. I think I'll be back but no sure!"
"I ordered the haddock and chips. My wife ordered the steak and ale pie. Mine tasted just like being in London. My wife cut her steak with her spoon. This is why I'm giving this spot 5 stars."
"Fun bar. Pizza smelled good and service is great. Cat go wrong here if you want to listen to music and sip some brew."
"If you say the following:litbruhwokeand some of your top priorities include:instagram (followers or getting down in the DMs)hitting that dabdrinking until you vomit with the door open in Public House's Restroom...at 10 PMThis place is probably for you. I usually go to the square so I'm not used to being charged cover since I'm over 21. Beer selection was garbage. Youngin's. Bleh."
"Love this bar! My experience was great. Had a fantastic bartender, Molly! live music was phenomenal , no problem with service but don't go for the food go for the entertainment! Darts, tvs, pool tables&dance floor.... what more do you need?! Nachos were a real disappointment but music made up for it. Bathrooms could use some attention for sure but great hang"
