"This restaurant is so cute inside, very aesthetic and beautifully designed. Food was delicious, we enjoyed the samosas, hummus, chicken shawarma, chicken kabob, and kufta kabobs as well as the mango and strawberry mojito mocktails. The service was also great! Our waitress checked on us often.I also wanted to mention that the five stars is in part due to the hostess in the front. She was so kind and really helped with our son who was getting a bit fussy. She made him a balloon hand out of a glove and a fun toy out of a water bottle. We very much appreciate her and would come back 100% because of her!! Thank you if you read this!!!"

"I can understand why Al Markaz is such a cornerstone of the Pakistani community in DFW. Located just across the street from the Hmart complex, AL Markaz offers arguably better quality and cheaper groceries than any other place in the area.The food in the food court is solid and felt like I was eating in someone's home. Here's a breakdown of what I got:- Mixed chaat: A mixed assortment of potatoes, tomatoes, yogurt, fried pita. There are probably other things in there that I don't know, but overall the taste is refreshing and has a bit of spice, sweetness, and savoriness. - Bihari kebab: Ground meat that's presented like an upside-down bowl. Very good seasoning. The consistency was a bit mushy for me but otherwise, taste was amazing.- Chicken tikka breast: A bit on the drier side and not as seasoned as the other items on the table.- Naan: This is 100% the best naan in town. I would come back just for this.Service was great! Workers came around often to see if we needed anything (e.g., utensils, napkins, plates)."

Favorites include a standard order of dhokra for snacking & mixed grill for a protein fix with a few different well seasoned and tender meats. Also a fan of the nihari which is flavorful, not crazy spicy and not under an inch of oil. This time around also tried out the haleem which was great and would definitely reorder."

"Silver Spoon has incredible food, this is my go to spot in Allen for great Indian Food. The place is located in a small strip mall on McDermott, and you barely notice the place unless you're looking for it. When you walk in, you first face the register. You can order at the register, or take a menu to your table and peruse for a bit. The place is not fancy, you're not going to have a 5 star server handing your food on a silver platter, but what you will have is great food made to order and probably leftovers when you're done.I order the Chicken Tikka Masala typically, then I add a side of of Daal just to because its so flavorful. I've ordered both in house and to-go, and both are equally wonderful. You are not rushed as you enjoy your meal in the quiet restaurant atmosphere, and the calm music in the background is great as you enjoy your meal.I will continue to dine here, it's a great place to have in Allen, and I'm happy to patronize this establishment."

"Ordered lunch for my team around 10:19am for a pickup at 12:30pm. I ordered ahead because we have 30min for our lunch and it already takes us 6min to drive over there. I showed up at 12:22 and let them know I was here and to my surprise they didn't check their order system to see if any orders had came in. No apology and was just told to wait 10min. As soon as I walked about that when we got the email and text saying my order was confirmed. So I knew it was a restaurant issue and not that they didn't get notified. They just didn't check. After waiting almost 20min the food was finally ready. We ordered 2 - chicken tikka masala and 2 - chicken curry and garlic naan. The garlic naan was burnt. The chicken curry was horrible pieces of meat and none of it came with rice???I paid about $72 for all of this and it was just horrible. Would never go back!"

I've eaten here over 15 times now, just working my way down the menu and never been disappointed. In fact, my love affair keeps deepening with every trip. My favorites so far are chapli kebab, sesame naan, beef nahari, Keema Naan,...the list keeps getting longer. Do yourself a favor and try something new and I promise, you'll keep coming back."

Goat portion was small for the price ($21); lots of bones and fatty pieces with very little meat. Also VERY greasy. And VERY spicy. Palak paneer was tasty and more fairly priced for the portion. Also had butter chicken. Again, tasty but a very small amount of (5 small chunks) to sauce ratio. We like some spice but most dishes were just way too spicy for us. The naan was delicious, light and fluffy. The buffet also looked very fresh and plentiful so maybe we'd try that next time."

I went here with some friends that knows the regional food very well and I let them order and just share. Unfortunately I didn't catch the name but the chicken was very good.The naan bread was good as well. They also serve it with different sauces which are very flavorful without being overly spicy.The staff wasn't very attentive when we went here and we had to work to get their attention but they were prompt once they noticed we needed assistance.They have a varied menu, I will definitely want to return here and try more of their menu options."

"There is often a lack of consistency in Pakistani food in Dallas. For this reason, I held back my initial feelings, and waited until I had food from Shinwari Kitchen at least 5 times. I am very happy to say- Holy Smokes, this place is awesome! From delicious kababs, to their karahis, it is apparent that the ownership and chef have an aligned interest of giving a consistent quality product to their customers.I can say no bad things about Shinwari Kitchen, even if I tried to find a fault I would fail.I highly recommend their karahi dishes. When my family visited last week, I told my sister, "I am going to get us the best karahi you have had". She was skeptical as usual - I have failed her at other establishments that would succeed when it was just my wife and I, but would fail me when I invite family. I cannot say the same about the Shinwari Chicken & Goat Karahi. She and her family enjoyed this meal as if it was their last!I ordered via Uber Eats last night too. Yes, they deliver, and yes it is a little pricey- I do not blame them, commissions on UE are insane. They passed this test with flying colors. The quality was still maintained - and though it is more expensive on UE, I did not feel ripped off in the slightest, because the food is just THAT good.Wishing the ownership and staff the best here, please never compromise on your quality! Keep it up!"

"We stopped by the restaurant after playing badminton in the area since it was close by. The restaurant is pretty small, with only 4 tables. It's located right next to a gas station. They offer a variety of dishes, from fried chicken to burgers to Mediterranean food. You order at the register, and grab your food from there as well.I wasn't too hungry so I got their beef shawarma fries, and my boyfriend got the biryani chicken. The portion was pretty big for both our orders, but our friend got the beef shawarma wrap and it was pathetic. The price difference was like $1 so I would recommend not getting the wraps.I like my beef shawarma fries. It was freshly fried and had a good mix of beef pieces and sauce. The biryani chicken was okay. It doesn't look like the photo on the menu at all since they just dumped a bunch of rice on some pieces of chicken. My boyfriend didn't mind since the portion was big, and it tasted okay. Food took about 10-15 mins to come out and there were customers coming in and out constantly. It looks like a local favorite so I might drop by again when I'm in the area for their shawarma fries, but don't expect it to be mind blowing."

"Originally-I came here because I loved Breezeway cafe and didn't know that it's been replaced but I thought I'd give this spot a try. I'm glad I did because the food is delicious. The Dal Gosht is spicy and flavorful. The goat was so tender and just fell of the bone. Veg samosas and the two chutneys they come with was so flaky and the potato filling had a spectacular flavor and crisp. Also got the healthy barbecue bowl with chicken malai boti which had a specific taste that I couldn't pinpoint but my boyfriend still liked it. It was so tender and spicy. And it's served over the fluffiest rice. The staff is also so nice and patient with some of my questions. I found this place to be a great surprise. They serve good portions for an affordable price. Would definitely come back here."

"My first introduction to Indian cuisine was here many years ago. I had the lunch buffet and since then it has become one of my favorite cuisines. I love how flavorful and warming the Indian curries are and the satisfying bite of warm, fluffy naan dipped in them.Located in a little shopping strip, I was happy to find that this place was still open after all these years when I stopped in last week for the lunch buffet ($8.99.) We walked in and a gentleman gestured us to seat and help ourselves. There was nobody else there and it looked like we were the first customers at around 12:30pm. One other customer came in as we were leaving. This was surprising, because I recall them being quite busy for lunch before. The offerings were limited, though what they did have was good. The biriyani and tandoori chicken were still the star items for me. The chicken was flavorful and not dry at all like a lot of other places. The curries were tasty but was unfortunately barely warm. For dessert, they only had kheer, but man was that kheer delicious! I wish there were gulab jamun though. The only time we saw the staff was when a lady dropped off a basket of hot, fresh naan. The dining area is not in view of the counter. There was no clearing of plates or even asking if we wanted something to drink. Everything is self served. They have room temperature water in a dispenser on the buffet. Cups and utensils are also there along with napkins which are also at the table. Some may like this setup for a quick lunch option. We did. Would I come back again though? Probably not any time soon. I've had the pleasure of dining at many other places that offer more variety and awesome service. Although the food here is solid, this place doesn't even try to welcome you. Maybe it's better as a to-go option from now on but I'm not in the area much."

"This has quickly become a family favorite ever since it opened. It's crazy but we've had streaks of coming here weekly haha. There isn't a lot of dedicated parking in the immediate front of the restaurant so you might have to park a little outward. The restaurant itself is well kept. There are clean restrooms, booths, and tables. Well lit and nice décor. They recently added some outdoor tables and string lighting about a month or so ago.My one star deduction is for the service :/ It is painstakingly slow. The waiters are nice but possibly need to be more coordinated. Sometimes you'll have to ask for things like silverware, raita (yogurt based green sauce), etc twice. Also if you plan on getting tea afterwards BE SURE to order it at least 15 minutes early...they make it fresh so it takes some time. I actually really appreciate that most everything seems to be made right after you order so if you feel your stomach churning in hunger waiting, the food will at least be fresh :)Any issues with the service will most likely be offset by the AMAZING prices and taste. A plate of very well-flavored chicken biryani is $2.99; yes, there might only be 2 small pieces of meat but the flavors are great. The naan isn't greasy at all and pull-apart soft! If you decide to get kabobs, I would suggest two links per person. If you're really hungry or a meathead maybe throw in another. The raita they make is the perfect accompaniment for any of their dishes. (As I mentioned before you'll have to ask for raita because the servers sometimes forget to bring it out.)The gyros sandwich is pretty good also. The flavor has a kick to it and there's a really good orange sauce in it that is similar to thousand island dressing. The meat is very thinly sliced.The other item that I like a lot are the samosas! If you come by for an afternoon snack, they go excellent with their tea! The tea is PERFECT. Hot and frothy, it has the aroma of cardamom and cloves. If you're experiencing any heartburn from anything spicy, the mango lassi is pretty good also! The prices are CRAZY. It's so cheap that I felt like we were ordering random things haha! The four of us ordered a lot, were stuffed, and even had a small piece of kabob and biryani leftover...total tab $28!!!If you do a carryout be sure to add 10 minutes to their time estimate and ask for raita :P"
