They were perfectly juicy and charred. Friendly wait staff. I'm a big fan of restaurants that give you a happy hour type discount, and that's exactly what Yama did for select nigiri. Their attention to detail and customer service really stood out.The only downside during our visit was some ongoing construction nearby, which caused a bit of inconvenience with parking. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could order off of that me u on a weekend day, that is a plus for them in my book, as most restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area do not offer that as a weekend option. My order was a Teriyaki Shrimp Bento. The Teriyaki Shrimp Bento Box started out with a cup of Miso Soup. They soup was flavorful without being salty. It had a lot of seaweed in it and I really enjoyed that.The box itself came with my Teriyaki Shrimp on a bed of vegetables, accompanied by a salad, rice, shrimp tempura, gyoza, and California Roll. Everything was delicious.My server Michelle did a great job. She was the only server on duty and 5 tables all sat at once, but she did not get flustered or make anyone feel rushed or forgotten.Overall it was a really nice experience and I would not hesitate to come back!"

I pulled into the parking lot a little bit early. It is kind of small but I think there is parking on the side of the building. I walked in and was impressed. I honestly thought it was one of those places with hibachi place with the table grills. It's more of a carry out with about 10 tables. But I'd like to highlight that it was super clean and bright. The lady that greeted me was super nice and had a huge smile. Definitely made me feel welcome. I waited a few minutes and then she brought my order to me.Got home in about 15min. My food was still really warm. Everything looks fresh and amazing. The fried rice was great but not what I was expecting. It was on the very light brown side made with maybe Jasmine rice. The vegetables were fresh and chunky. Still crispy. The steak was a bit overcooked rather on the well done side but I'm not angry at it. The chicken was absolutely perfect. It had the nice grill sear but was tender and flavorful. They added a little yellowish sauce on the side. It was okay. It reminded me like a very lightly flavored honey mustard. Overall, 5/5, would go again. Actually, can't wait to go again! Treat yoself! I justified it by saying I'll be eating a healthy meal ;)"

The edamame was perfectly cooked and the seaweed salad was super fresh and not drenched in sauce. It had a light sesame flavor and came with thinly sliced cucumber. We ordered the geisha roll, Philly roll and the Las Vegas roll. A perfect trifecta and will blow your mind. First time trying a deep fried roll but our niece suggested it and it did not disappoint. I love teriyaki but not many places offer this in DFW.So far I have only tried the chicken teriyaki plate and spicy chicken teriyaki plate but it has been consistence and overall good in terms of flavor and taste. Only downside I've experienced is that the spicy chicken teriyaki isn't spicy at all. It tastes the same as the regular chicken teriyaki. I would save the extra dollar and just opt for some sriracha on the side or something.All condiments are self service and everyone working there is very friendly. I would recommend checking this out if you're looking for a new teriyaki spot"
