"This is a review for vegetarian options in sushi: We got the vegetable roll and vegetable tempura roll, both are on the menu and they were good! The service is great with casual ambiance. Loved our time here!"
"The place is not only adorable but the food was delicious! I've had a top favorite sushi place for the past 4 years and this is the only place that has been able to top it! The portions were large and we only ate about half of our meals. 10/10"

"Food and drink was outstanding. I did not take enough pics....got pulled into conversation and drinks. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff was attentive and answered all of our questions.Really very good experience all around. Absolutely will be back!"
"We came here for a special occasion dinner and it made our evening even more special! The service was outstanding. We couldn't have been more pleased with our server's knowledge and ability to explain the dishes to us. He offered suggestions and made sure we were happy with our choices. It goes without saying that the food was amazing. We ordered the tasting menu and loved every dish. The ambiance was intimate and yet still lively. We had fun watching the chefs preparing our dishes. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion!"
"This is my 3rd time coming here , and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is serene and inviting, with a modern yet cozy décor that immediately sets a relaxed tone. The sushi itself was nothing short of spectacular. Every piece was fresh, expertly crafted, and bursting with flavor. The variety on the menu catered to both traditional sushi lovers and those looking for something more innovative.Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were happy to make recommendations based on our preferences.Additionally, the pricing was reasonable considering the quality and presentation of the food. For those who appreciate a great sushi experience. Its definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be returning soon!"
"Had a nice time with my sister. Took her out for her bday. Happy hour prices were good. Our server Antonio was new, but he did a great job. He is learning about sushi."
"Love this restaurant for a chill omakase!! :)I apparently started this review eons ago, but forgot to finish it. Oops.If you're looking for omakase, come check out Mr. Sushi. Came recommended by friends, is obviously recommended on Yelp, and is DELICIOUS. It is NOT a set course omakase (at least when we went, it wasn't). We sat down at the bar (come earlier than later!), said hit us with sushi/omakase, and they kept the fish rolling until we said we were stuffed. :)Please see photos for drool-inducing deliciousness.I look forward to coming back for my bday!"
"Locally owned gem nestled in a shopping complex. It may seem unassuming, but this restaurant had a nice assortment of Japanese and Korean foods and drinks. We started out with the yakitori skewers. They were perfectly juicy and charred. Friendly wait staff. I'm a big fan of restaurants that give you a happy hour type discount, and that's exactly what Yama did for select nigiri. Good size portion ratio of rice to fish. Not pictured included my boozy mango Sochu cocktail. A fun worth-it sushi and yakitori restaurant in outskirts of Dallas."
"I had an amazing birthday dinner at Uchiba, and I can't recommend it enough! We opted for the happy hour omakase, and the meal did not disappoint--each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance is perfect for a special occasion, whether it's a romantic date or a night out with friends. The setting is chic yet inviting, making it a great spot for any celebration. While Uchiba is known for its sushi, they offer a variety of other dishes for those who aren't as into raw fish, and the servers were incredibly helpful in guiding us to options we'd enjoy. Their attention to detail and customer service really stood out.The only downside during our visit was some ongoing construction nearby, which caused a bit of inconvenience with parking. However, Uchiba offers complimentary valet service, though it's definitely a good idea to add a bit of extra time to your arrival and departure to avoid any delays. Despite this small hiccup, the experience was overall fantastic, and I'll definitely be back for another celebration!"
"Such a delicious place! We always come back here! Service is always 10/10, our server Louis is always so sweet and attentive 10/10 server, the manager came and gave us free hot sake too which was so nice! So clean, cute and classy in here too! Food was fabulous, favorites are: Who's your daddy Jalepeno bombs Hawaiian roll Dallas special We'll be back over and over again, thank you so much Louis !!"
"We met here for dinner with friends from out of town. Since reopening their restaurant in 2015, Chef Mark Mark and Lod, his wife, Tungcmittrong, have continued to provide the same personal touch, the freshest and most creative food, outstanding service, and warm family atmosphere. It's always a very fun, satisfying event to dine at Sushi Rock."

Shiawase came highly recommended! The fish was incredibly fresh, the prices were just as delightful, and our waitress was top-notch. They even made our Valentine's date (and 30th Wedding Anniversary) extra special by shaping our rolls into a heart--such a fun and thoughtful touch. We truly appreciate the effort they put into making our night memorable!

Eric R.'s parents treated us to a delicious meal here the night before my birthday. I made reservations a few weeks in advance since I have waited years to eat here. Tei-An is one of my favorite restaurants of all time, so I knew its sister would be just as amazing. Our server Zoe was very kind and helpful throughout the meal. I ordered Asahi on draft, Eric R. got hot green tea, and his mom ordered unfiltered nigori sake (she wanted sweet sake, but did not end up liking the idea of "milky sweet"). I tasted the sake and thought it was nice and smooth. His parents started with fried oysters, and Eric R. and I got the baby yellowtail carpaccio. We shared assorted vegetable tempura next, which had purple sweet potato, green beans, maitake mushrooms, and shishito peppers. Next we had the beef on hot rock where we each cooked slices of beef. That was fun and interactive. I ordered the octopus leg robata imagining it would be on a stick like we had in Japan, but it was actually sliced very thinly and served with yuzu kosho. I liked this a lot because the slices were tender and easy to chew but had a strong grilled flavor. I had never had octopus prepared like this before. Eric R. and his parents shared the baby back ribs since I do not eat pork. They seemed very tender.I ordered the yaki onigiri with yuzu kosho and shared that with Eric R. and his mom. It was a flavorful grilled rice ball with yuzu kosho served with daikon and cucumber pickles topped with bonito flakes. Our sushi course came last. I enjoyed Hokkaido uni gunkan and Spanish mackerel nigiri. Eric R. and his mom had Hokkaido scallop nigiri. We shared three rolls: negi toro maki, spicy tuna maki, and rainbow roll with real crab. The negi toro was soooooo fatty and delicious! This was a very delicious and special meal. Itadakimasu!

This is definitely a special occasion place. I wanted to try it since it ended up being close to the ballet. This place was dimly lit and where we were seated was mostly couples. Got a reservation right when they opened and it was nice. The place definitely gets loud as it starts to fill up. They gave me a basket to place my purse in so it wasn't hanging from my seat. TLDR: It's good but seriously for special occasions. I wouldn't say it's entirely unique or mind blowing. Most dishes are shareable and we left full without spending more than $300 after tip.Our server explained how the traditional course order went and was readily available with questions. They're fancy with the water here and it's like $8 a bottle. Started off with sushi which was very fresh and delicious. We ended up ordering it twice. The white seaweed salad was light and refreshing, for sure unique if you're not Asian I should've known lol but it was still nice to see how a restaurant prepared it versus my family. We also got the washu beef hot rock which ended up being one of my favorites. The main star and thing they're known for is the house made soba noodles, which I admit we're really good. I could eat double the portion the gave. The dipping broth that came with it was the perfect level of salty and they give you the soba liquid after to turn it into a sipping broth. The duck was overcooked to me :( miyazaki beef soba noodles with broth was also delicious and warming but nothing special. The beef was super tender. The soba ice cream was not what I expected. It was good and most of the sweetness came from the black honey but I think my favorite part was the toasted powder they had on top. It added a whole different profile to the dessert. All in all, it's a good restaurant but now that I've had it, I can cross it off the list and keep it that way.

Came here Sunday around noon. I was quickly greeted and seated. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly. The sizzling dumplings were sizzling for real. Good amount of filling and very flavorful. The salmon poke bowl was a generous portion, everything tasted fresh.

Very authentic Japanese food. It's always a full house/no empty tables, so you know it's definitely good! The service is normally really quick (in and out 30-45mins). The food itself is really good and I definitely recommend you step outta your shell a little bit and try new things here because it definitely opened my eyes to new foods ! Overall great! The parking lot is kinda a nightmare because it's very small and there's tons of people who attend the billiard hall next door- so just note parking can be hard sometimes.

"Yesterday, we celebrated a fun birthday at Sakana Sushi, and it was an incredible experience! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the rainbow roll, salmon rolls, seaweed salad, dancing fire roll, udon, ramen, spicy edamame, spicy tuna tower, and tempura. Every single item was good and service was helpful and kind..One standout was the fresh wasabi, definitely a must-try if you're dining here! It adds an extra layer of flavor you didn't know you needed."
"So delicious and honestly such great drinks, definitely a local gem with amazing service and nice ambiance!"
"By far the best sushi and fried rice I've ever experienced in the metroplex. The nigiri is expertly sliced, and the freshness of the fish is exceptional. I enjoyed my nigiri with a Kirin Ichiban beer, and I discovered flavors in the fish that I had never noticed before. Before you stop in be aware they are closed for a few hours between lunch and dinner. I believe dinner starts at 5pm and lunch is from 11-2. This is one of the very few restaurants I'd give 5 starts to."
"My wife and I was looking for a place to eat last minute and stumbled across the business. The food was really delicious. Thank you."
"The design of this fast casual chain was really cool. The tailgates and crate doors were very cool. The food was fresh and super yummy. Got 2 pieces of tempura shrimp & the steak & shrimp hibachi. Only thing I wish they offered is a mixed tempura appetizer instead of having to order by the piece. Service was efficient."
"FOOD - Stir fried vegetable with beef - The beef had great flavor with the sauce and the leafy vegetable was cooked great. It was tasty and crunchy. Great ingredients and cooking!- Salt and Pepper Tofu - the tofu was in small pieces which allowed for the tofu to be super crispy when fried. It had great flavor and the onions on top were super sweet and yummy. - Fried Flounder with Salt and Pepper - The fried flounder was also very crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside where the meat of the fish was. The onions had that great pan-fried flavor and were sweet. The onions were actually so yummy and made the dish soooo yummy.- Basil Eggplant + Chicken - I haven't had eggplant before in this style but it was pretty good. The dish came out steaming hot and it was soft eggplant with thin strips of chicken. Pretty great flavor overall!- Crispy Fried Pork Intestine - This dish was super crispy and well cooked. Not a very common dish to people who aren't fan of eating intestines but definitely worth trying because it is tasty!VIBESGenroku is a great restaurant for families. It definitely has a comfy feeling with the round lazy-susan tables and the yellower lighting. The decorations are a mix of Japanese/Chinese/Taiwanese influence which was pretty cool. Most of the customers at the time we went were older or families.SERVICEService was great. The man who helped serve us was super sweet and was super patient. He gave us lots of time to think and plenty of recommendations. The food also came out very fast."
"One of the best sushi around, if your in the area you have to try it. The service is wonderful and the ownership really cares about food quality and customer satisfaction!"
"I have not been WOW'D in quite a while. Everything about this place is 5 stars. Great value, quality atmosphere and service. This will be my go-to place for sushi."
"Solid sushi spot in southlake and reasonably priced too. Not to mention dog friendly and service here is pretty quick too. Their volcano scallop roll is the best one. The fried mushrooms are worth a try but if you're getting anything fried here it's gotta be the shrimp"
"Ordered for the first time via Uber . Order was . Hawaiian Salmon poke bowl - Kind of bland, but ingredients were fresh. Didn't come with a sauce that I noticed... Unagi was pretty good. Salmon was fresh. Kale was fresh. Cucumber was fresh. Surprised that there wasn't any pickled ginger, nor do I recall the option to add it.Overall, it's pretty difficult to find a decent poke place in Dallas. not sure if I would recommend yet, but I would order from this place again."
"Fresh food, good portions, good service. It's Monday night so we didn't have to wait for table. It's a small restaurant so I can imagine it will be packed every weekend."
"Food was awesome. Never had Thai food before and now I am hooked. It was so flavorful without being too spicy. The shaken beef I don't even know how to describe how delicious it was. I did get a chance to taste the flat noodles with beef that was good too, but the item that stole the show for me were the dumplings five out of five."
"Awesome! Had lunch with a coworker today and this place was an excellent choice! Awesome food, friendly staff, great prices! Will definitely stop by again!!"
"A said he'd be happy after an uptown and a Mary roll.Everything was great, as always.Casey was a delight!"
"I love the ambiance of sushi bars, they are a nice escape from the busy hustle bustle of daily life! While the decor of Akaya matched that, the music playing was a little to upbeat to finish the ambiance description as relaxing. The music was modern though, so it was a marriage between new and traditional worlds.I ordered off of the lunch menu. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could order off of that me u on a weekend day, that is a plus for them in my book, as most restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area do not offer that as a weekend option. My order was a Teriyaki Shrimp Bento. The Teriyaki Shrimp Bento Box started out with a cup of Miso Soup. They soup was flavorful without being salty. It had a lot of seaweed in it and I really enjoyed that. The box itself came with my Teriyaki Shrimp on a bed of vegetables, accompanied by a salad, rice, shrimp tempura, gyoza, and California Roll. Everything was delicious. My server Michelle did a great job. She was the only server on duty and 5 tables all sat at once, but she did not get flustered or make anyone feel rushed or forgotten.Overall it was a really nice experience and I would not hesitate to come back!"
"I drove past this place a few times and then saw it pop up on Yelp. Best decision ever giving this place a chance!!! I'm barely a quarter of the way done eating!I placed an online order for a Hibachi Chicken and Steak Meal with Fried rice. I got a text saying it would be be ready in 20 min. I pulled into the parking lot a little bit early. It is kind of small but I think there is parking on the side of the building. I walked in and was impressed. I honestly thought it was one of those places with hibachi place with the table grills. It's more of a carry out with about 10 tables. But I'd like to highlight that it was super clean and bright. The lady that greeted me was super nice and had a huge smile. Definitely made me feel welcome. I waited a few minutes and then she brought my order to me.Got home in about 15min. My food was still really warm. Everything looks fresh and amazing. The fried rice was great but not what I was expecting. It was on the very light brown side made with maybe Jasmine rice. The vegetables were fresh and chunky. Still crispy. The steak was a bit overcooked rather on the well done side but I'm not angry at it. The chicken was absolutely perfect. It had the nice grill sear but was tender and flavorful. They added a little yellowish sauce on the side. It was okay. It reminded me like a very lightly flavored honey mustard. Overall, 5/5, would go again. Actually, can't wait to go again! Treat yoself! I justified it by saying I'll be eating a healthy meal ;)"
"Wow! We travel a lot and Yelp is our only hope to find a good place to eat. Every single time Yelp comes through and it did again this time. We started with edamame and seaweed salad. The edamame was perfectly cooked and the seaweed salad was super fresh and not drenched in sauce. It had a light sesame flavor and came with thinly sliced cucumber. We ordered the geisha roll, Philly roll and the Las Vegas roll. A perfect trifecta and will blow your mind. First time trying a deep fried roll but our niece suggested it and it did not disappoint. The geisha roll was ridiculously fresh and had a lot of fish. Not like some places that use mostly rice!We will make this a regular stop when in Dallas."
"Went in this Wednesday for lunch to treat myself to the cowboy roll. Ended up having a wonderful chat with my bartender, Nina. Her service was excellent, friendly and inviting. The sushi was fresh and on point. It really hit the spot. Might make it a weekly thing! Thank you Nina!"
"We have eaten the volcano roll, bento boxes, tempura, salads, soups, sushi and a number of rolls. Very good and very consistent!Service is always kind and efficient. The restaurant has been here so long they have wonderful memorabilia on the walls. Take a moment, if you like football or golf in the area of DFW!"
"Stopped by here to grab a quick snack. We got the avocado egg rolls which were very tasty with the sauce it came with. Also tried the yakisoba noodles which were also flavorful. Overall kind of pricey and decent food. It's a good lunch spot for sure."
"Chris was fantastic. He was truly one of the best waiters we have ever seen. He definitely made our dining to the next level. We really loved the good quality of unlimited sashimi! Sushi and appetizers were great as well. Also the drinks were included in the AYCE price which was"
"I went to yamas regrandopening for all of their deals and the deals were so good! I've never been to this Yama I only ever went to the one in Dallas, but I gotta say the quality of food was great. The service was also amazing, the staff was very attentive. I really loved the inside of the restaurant too it definitely gave a homey feeling. I would def be back for their sushi deals, cause who doesn't love cheap eats??"
"I've been here 3 times so far for lunch and all my orders have been to go. Placing an order is very easy, I prefer to call and they usually have it ready within 5-10 minutes which works great. I love teriyaki but not many places offer this in DFW.So far I have only tried the chicken teriyaki plate and spicy chicken teriyaki plate but it has been consistence and overall good in terms of flavor and taste. Only downside I've experienced is that the spicy chicken teriyaki isn't spicy at all. It tastes the same as the regular chicken teriyaki. I would save the extra dollar and just opt for some sriracha on the side or something. All condiments are self service and everyone working there is very friendly. I would recommend checking this out if you're looking for a new teriyaki spot"
