K G. "This is, in my opinion, the best horse back riding and horse training facility there is. Summer Hill offers a program to fit every horse and rider. If you have never ridden before they have a excellent beginner program with a trainer that has ridden with the head trainers since she was a child (that means that when you are ready to advance you will not have any confusion as all three have an identical teaching style.) If you are a more experienced rider, they will tailor your training program to best fit you (and your horse if you have one)!!! The head trainer has been working with horses for most of her life, and has been teaching for over 15 years now. She has an amazing natural ability with horses and is now joined by her daughter as her assistant head trainer. If you are looking to board your horse they off a full custom care program designed to fit your horse and what he needs. Top notch!!! I can go on forever about how great this place is!!!!"

Laura S. "My dad and I drove out to Bob Jones Park in Grapevine and met the horses and guide and went for an hour trail ride. I am and always have been a true horse lover so this was the best experience I've had in a long time! It was only $30 a person and it was like we were transported to the country! Our guide was absolutely wonderful and the horses were angels. I'm going to take these trail rides every time I possible can! I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for an adventure!!"

Stephen W. "We were looking for horseback riding for the little one and found this place not too far outside of Dallas. The school itself is a bit hard to find as the small road does not have a road sign but there is a small sign for the riding school but you have to look hard for it. We were looking for a one time event for a birthday. They offer 30 minute lesson for $35. Perfect for us. The lesson includes an introduction, brushing the horse, about 15 minutes of riding in an enclosed area, and the brush down afterward. The horse we were assigned was calm and gentle. Ms. Sara was patient and clear in her instructions. The little one felt comfortable and enjoyed herself. We are happy with the experience and I would recommend it."

Shawn V. "My wife and I were in the Dallas / Ft Worth area for 4 days celebrating our 38th Anniversary and Valentine's Day. I booked us a 2-hr sunset ride. My wife and I like to ride horses whenever we go somewhere on vacation but it's often difficult to find a stable that (a) cares for their horses; (b) matched horses to the experience level of the rider; and (c) doesn't just have group trail rides on horses you could fall asleep on. The folks at Chisholm Trail Rides did a great job. Since we've ridden quite a bit previously, we were given horses that had some energy! We had a private ride (with our awesome guide Chelsey) and we got to 'let the horses go' at various times which was great! Chelsey was extremely personable and a great guide. I was also impressed that before our little group mounted an left, there was a group of four riders (obviously beginners) that were going out and Chelsey and the other guide took the time to tell them several things that I've rarely seen other stables tell new riders - all of which no doubt made for a better ride. I also liked the fact that they had small packs on each horse with a bottle of water and also room for our coats (it was nice when we started but going to get cooler later) and a small pouch for phones (that's a story for later); I've rarely ever had stables use packs like these and it is very welcome. Our ride was through a 30 acre wooded area with ponds. The ride was great!Just before we finished, my wife realized her phone fell out of her back pocket (she shoved it way down but I guess it fell out when we were cantering with the horses - not sure why she didn't put it in the zipped pocket on the pack ). So, we got the horses in and then Chelsey took us out with the Mule (four wheeled utility vehicle) to search for it. We weren't able to find it and it was getting dark, so we left. When we returned to our hotel, we used the 'Phone Finder' and located the phone. The next day we drove out and asked if we could walk the property to go to the general area - and they graciously said yes. Then one of the managers (she will kill me because I forgot her name - I'm sorry ) came out with the Mule and helped us look on foot. We realized we needed to go back and use WiFi and the earth view to get a better location. As soon as we did, she knew exactly where it was and she went out in the Mule, located it and brought it back. We had the chance to talk to Ashley (the other manager) and she was awesome as well. They gave up an hour of their time today and almost the same amount of time yesterday helping us find it.The ride was great; the area is perfect for riding for all levels; the staff are all super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend them!"

Michelle M. "I've ridden at Foster Farm for two years and it is the best place for English riding lessons in town! Located on a beautiful facility just south of downtown and operated by the best saddleseat instructors in town. I had ridden American Saddlebreds as a child and had no idea that Foster Farm was just up the road. It is the only Saddlebred farm in the downtown area and they are filled to the brim with championship riders and beautiful show horses. Giving your child the gift of horsemanship is irreplaceable and I highly recommend Foster Farm as a starting point. The trainers specialize in starting young and aren't afraid to teach little ones. And they can carry riders all the way up to championship status. It's an incredible sport, unique, and so very different than many other disciplines out there. The facility has gorgeous trails as well if you're interested in that! I can't say enough about Nicole, Stephanie and Hugo - the Foster Farm family is the best place to ride in Dallas."

Drew B. "Full Circle Riding Academy is AWESOME! Great instructors and great steeds make this a hidden gem in the urban jungle in Fort Worth! It offers various types of ridding styles and both group and private lessons. My boys have all learned lessons not only about caring for and riding horses, but the things behind the scenes that have helped them to gain confidence and experience as well as shown them a bit about personal responsibility in how to treat these magnificent creatures!I saw a few negative reviews and was very surprised to see anything negative written about this wonderful place and the caring staff. What I appreciate is they have a no nonsense approach and give the kiddos direction and correction when required. Not sure what other people have experienced, but the boys and I have nothing but positive experiences here. I am sure you will too, in any case, give them a try!"

They gave us basic instructions for how to ride a horse, but it worked and the horse followed our lead. I mean, it's a very basic experience if you rode horses before, and looking for a little more. Our Groupon was for the one hour ride, and you get that experience definitely. I think this a great activity to do in Texas, so I'd recommend!"

The staff are so patient and kind. The amount of care the animals receive is just indescribable. I'm not an animal woman at all and these horses were gentle, patient and so sweet. I faced my fears and pet a few and I want to go back just to see them lol. The facility is very well-kept and clean considering what it is used for. I recommend taking your children for horse therapy and rehabilitation. If applicable to me I would be one of the first to sign up."

My friend who brought me learned to ride here as a child and has been coming for over 20 years. It's been the same staff the whole time, so you can trust that they know what they're doing. The horses were simply majestic and a lot of fun to hang out and go riding with."

Vivien H. "Thank God I called ahead coz they only work by appointment and they had no other openings except today between 4-5. Of course I took advantage of it ;)The lady on the phone was amazing. She gave all the info I had to know. We arrived 15 min earlier to sign waivers and stuff, we met our tour guide who apparently rides horses for over 40 yrs and also trains them.I did ride before, but it's fun and pleasure every time! I love these animals, I connect with them fast! The tour was very relaxing, felt like I'm in my natural habitat ;)My horse, Shelby and me were a great team. An hour passed by super fast, of course, it's always like that when you are having a good time. We saw so many other horses, they all looked happy and well maintained, our guide knew all of their names. Cody, Star, One Ton.. Hihi, that's all I remember. I was hoping to gallop, but he said I'll need to train for that, shoooot, I felt ready:)Anyways you really wanna learn (like me) $60/hr or $228 for a package of 4 or $432 for a package of 8.You welcome :)"

It was only my second time riding a horse but they were really well trained and knew to follow David, our nice trail ride guide. The ranch was really pretty and big. Most places don't offer trail rides, and I think this place is very reasonable in price. Calling to make an appointment was super easy because they were nice and accommodating. Rachel R. "I started riding at Laurel Ridge Stables in January of 2022 and it was the best decision I've ever made for myself. I am a beginner adult rider, having started at age 31! Hannah is extremely patient and kind and has helped me along in my very short riding journey. I value her as a trainer and friend so much! She is extremely compassionate and understanding. She will never make you feel bad about your riding, rather provides positive feedback and a plan of action for improving at your pace. The barn is like a second family. From the horses, the riders, and their families, Laurel Ridge Stables has really created a safe space focused around community, determination and good sportsmanship. I always joke saying I'm healing my inner child but it's true. Working with Hannah and the horses have changed my life. This barn is a show barn, so the barn participates in shows in/out of state (mainly in Texas). I started showing this year and it's such a fun way to get more involved and work towards a goal. No matter how young or old, there's always room! The lesson program is wonderful and each horse has something to teach (just be sure to say thank you and give lots of treats)! The horses are all well taken care of and barn is beautiful. There is an outdoor bathroom on site and a sink to wash your hands. If you thought about horseback riding and didn't know if it was possible, please know it's completely feasible and worth it! It's never too late to start riding!"
