My wife and I seesaw the spectrum since every dish we've had here is simply stellar. First and foremost, Hill Country. If you're going to ACK for the first time, this is what you will order. It's not a suggestion. It's a command. The jalapeño jam and goat cheese combo paired with their practically perfect fried chicken recipe on a super crumbly biscuit will make your eyes roll into your head and leave 'em there until about 15 mins. after you finished this bad boy. All their biscuit sandwiches are going to give you the "happies" but Hill Country does take the cake. Gotta hand it to a place serving fried chicken - they know not everyone wanting fried chicken wants the stuffed-gut guilt usually contributed by the accompaniment of french fries or mashed potatoes. I love that ACK has these healthy bowls of delicious veggies and quinoa (rice is another option). I have personally tried the teriyaki bowl and the peanut butter honey chili bowl, and both give me that rare balance of drowning in deliciousness but not because I'm weighed down feeling like I ate 5 lbs. of abhorration.It's great that a place can offer the two sides of the culinary coin with consistent, remarkable flavors. "It's been sittin' here for a while without us getting around to trying it, but finally did today and it's good reviews are deserved. The chicken is a tiny bit spicy, just a pinch, and is big and tender. The crust is good, not too much and not too little. I got the Love Me Tender, and despite bein' a growin' boy, I actually couldn't finish it, so the portions are very nice. The potato salad was really good, but being a side-lover, I personally could have gone with a tad less chicken in favor of a bit more side, but it's fine. The biscuits are large enough to turn out as actual sandwich "buns", so they are very big and nice quality. Service and atmosphere is great (had enough country music to do me for a year or two). Anyway, recommended!"

The wings are smoked and then fried and you can definitely taste it! We had the buffalo lemon pepper in medium and Cajun dry rub and they were fantastic! The loaded curly fries are a for sure a must have. As for the vibes, they are a 10/10! They have a game console set up for you to play games with your friends and family as well as a pretty large patio area with games. Did I also mention they serve alcohol? We had their Original marg and a hennyrita! The food was amazing, the service was good, and the vibes were there! We are for sure definitely returning soon"

"First of all, the food here is amazing. Hand down some of the best fried chicken and catfish I've had in the DFW area! The pieces are really well fried, flavorful, and juicy. The Mac and cheese was appropriately cheesy and was well seasoned, and the okra was also good (although I wish it could've been a bit better). The portions are big enough to split with another person or save some for a second meal. Don't be fooled, the food is so good but it is rich and heavy! The place itself is super tiny and most people took their food to go. There is a wait to get the food so order in advance. This is not a sit down restaurant or a place to bring a large group. For this purpose, I really wouldn't recommend it for lunch for a group. But if bringing back to place of work, then it's ok. As far as value, I thought it was a bit on the high side, I think I paid around $25 (I tipped although I took away) for lunch. Next time, I would rather order a la carte and share with a group of people."

My daughter got the fish and chips. The fish had just the right amount of beer batter on a thick cut of very fresh cod. My wife got the fried shrimp, 6 of them, LARGE butterflied gulf shrimp and she could not finish the plate. Miguel Mercado, the owner, was a very gracious host, serving us himself. Will definitely be back!!"

I like at the Plano location that they ask how much hot sauce you want as they make it in front of you - not the case here. Just be sure to tell them what you want."

And to tell the truth,very few people can replicate that right amount of spices and spiciness to ensure it is eatable and tasty. Finally found a place that does amazing!!!We got 1. Manchow soup (really tasty!! Absolutely recommended), 2. Lemon Coriander soup (was expecting a fairly mild one, but this is the spiciest one of them all! Beware and know what you are getting into, though I found it very tasty my wife could not eat it haha), 3. Hakka Noodles (Recommended), and 4. Schezwan Fried Rice (very highly recommended)Overall the food was fantastic, we came in on a sunday afternoon and there was no one but we got fabulous service and we had enough left over for two more meals !! "Today was my third visit. I was hesitant to return as my prior visit sandwiches had chicken smaller than the already small bun, and the spice level didn't add up to its name. I have been seeking a true "Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich Experience." I expressed my concern, "Hey all the pictures on the menu show a large chicken breast sticking out both sides of the sandwich, but my prior orders didn't come close." I was assured that doesn't happen anymore. I ordered 2 Nashville daddys, a spicy daddy sandwiches and mild chicken tenders. All three sandwiches had chicken beyond the bun. The Nashville Daddy, even with the Extra Hot sauce level, still isn't authentic Nashville hot chicken. The sauce on the bun is hot enough to induce a scalp sweat, but the chicken itself is not. I guess the kitchen staff overheard my comments and decided to cake the mild chicken strips in a heavy, hot, dry spice rub. The strips were for my kid, who couldn't eat them at that spice level. I wasn't able to finish them myself, I prefer a hot sauce compared to the heavily caked tenders. See pic. I note that there is not a Daddy's Chicken Shack in Nashville or Tennessee. That might explain my overall disappointment in seeking a true Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich experience here. Not in a hurry to return."

Like all restaurants at TMF, try to get street parking, otherwise you have to park in the garage, which can be busy on event days. The restaurant itself is a long, quick serve style restaurant with booths along the sides, tables in the middle, and cool Budlong art and murals on the wall. If only it had better parking.... 1/2 Star.Service - The staff is super nice. We went on a grand opening day where the line was to the door, but the staff were all smiles, were super patient with our orders, and made sure we would enjoy our meals. Like most quick service restaurants, you order, give them your name, then wait for your food to come out. 1 StarFood - I ordered the original Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with Cajun potato salad. Kudos to Budlong because the thigh meat works. The chicken was hot, plump, juicy, and contained a good amount of heat. The soft, spongy bun held the chicken and slaw well. The slaw cooled the heat a little, and the cold, creamy Cajun potato salad cooled it a lot. IMO, it was a perfect paring. I chose the buttermilk ranch. And while I didn't dip my sandwich in it, my teens ate it with their hot, crispy crinkle-cut fries. But the star of my meal was the fried corn bread. Served with sweet butter, who knew boring cornbread could be transformed into such greatness? The only downer was the chocolate pie. The dough was very chewy and the chocolate a bit gooey. Otherwise, a great meal! 1 1/2 Stars.Will I Return? - Yes. While I'm not a fan of the parking at Toyota Music Factory, I'm happy that I now have a great local option (I live in Irving) for Nashville Hot Chicken. I ended up getting the AJ Sammy's meal, and even met one of the co-owners as I was eating the food. He seemed very passionate about the business and indicated he would be here everyday. When I did enter though a hour before closing time, the restaurant was half full. The cashier told me that if I liked spice, I should get a level 4. I did, and I regretted getting it because it was pretty spicy for me. I was really grateful for the free ice cream cone. Recommend you give these guys a try!"

"This is a local love for many! The location is great in a historical spot with good parking. Service is exceptional. Food is salty. Everything has a similar taste from high salt. The chicken is good for sure. And the biscuits. All the sides are served family style. The 'salad' is a bowl of wet lettuce. I don't know why they bother. The potatoes are good, the corn is laden with sugar, and the beans are also well seasoned. It is too bad. These lovely vegetables are delicious without all the additives. It detracts from the potential of the meal. I think Babe's is worth a visit, and bring your family when they come to visit. But the salt content is too unhealthy for regular consumption."
