"This place is an institution. One of my favorite stories to tell people is that the first day my wife and I moved to Dallas from California, a rep from Peticolas let me try some velvet hammer for free and take it home... and this was in the before times when you could only get beer home in a growler! So for someone just out of college and just getting their start in a hot hot apartment, having a growler of velvet hammer and no furniture but making it work is a very special special memory to me. I go out of my way to get their beer whenever I can, especially at Torchys!I've run their 5K twice, and it's a super fun event with an excellent vibe and excellent swag.I had the honor of meeting the founder at an event at Alamo Drafthouse, and getting to tell him my story and he seems like a totally great dude!If you haven't gotten to come here and watch a soccer game yet, add that to your Dallas bucket list!"

"This was my first visit and I lived the vibe and ambiance of this restaurant. They hit on all cylinders with an outside happening area with a soundstage for live music, a fireplace to sit around and an area for kids to be kids. The inside has a great feel too. 5 star all the way to whoever designed this place! Our service was OK, but our server had an 8 top in her section and I believe our table suffered a little neglect because of it. For example the kitchen runner set our food down and left and the next time we saw her was 10 mins before we saw our server. I needed malt vinegar for my fish and chips, and by the time I got it my food was no longer hot. Our drinks went dry as wel, which should never happen in my opinion. Food wise I ordered the wrong thing. I got fish and chips and they were pretty average. Also at our table was ordered salmon and a burger. I had a taste of those and will say I lost the menu lottery tonight. The fish and chips were not even in the same league as the salmon and the burger. If this were my restaurant I would step them up, or take them off the menu.Overall just an ok experience. I would come back, but you couldn't pay me to eat the fish and chips again."
"Great beer with multiple selections that aren't just IPAs. Same for food. Cool setting. Disappointed that there were zero tshirt men's options. Would have liked to have treated myself and rep a new top 10 brewery."

Best beer in Dallas!!! This place has a great variety and has awesome beer. Try the 2016 Barley wine before it's gone! They have something for everyone and they are all great beers. The Sledge Hammer to the Velvet Hammer to the Prime Minister! Try them all!!

LOVED our first visit! So much to enjoy, and sounds like plans in the works to mature the already excellent experience further. We came because I love the Hoppenheiner beer I get at local package retailers. The brewery is what I look for - tables for socializing, a good selection of beer, and a view in to a clean high quality establishment. Hands up. I am excited about an upcoming project to layer in a coffee roaster so I will be back once that installation is complete. Be still my heart. I believe in dual use space and this hits the sweet spot. The food menu is creative and I passed this time for lack of plant based options. Hopefully more to come! Pleasant staff and service. The model is you order at the bar and walk your order to a seating of your choice, so you are doing the work here. I love that for flights you write down your own selection so there is no room for error. Flights are bit expensive. Overall we adored the total visit and cannot wait to come back especially when it warms up to sit outside in the lovely lawn seating.

Dropped in here for a brunch a few weeks ago with my wife and a couple of her former co-workers. It was a beautiful Saturday, just begging for an outdoor setting for brunch. First thing to know, I think this place has the most dog-friendly and "pup-ular" patio ever, so be prepared. Our servers were very nice and prompt, and our drinks came out quickly. Mine was Gary's Michelada, a wonderful combination of tomato juice, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and their Gary Golden Ale, which is described as a "hoppy ale", but the hoppiness was tamed with the other ingredients. Served in a tall glass with a yummy strip of bacon, it was a great alternative to that other brunch favorite, the Bloody mary. Moving on to the food, we started with hush puppies for the table, which netted us five deliciously brown and crispy balls of delight, which were also soft and still moist on the inside, with just the right amount of jalapeno kick. The lemon hot honey drizzle was modest and added a great flavor without being overwhelming. For my main, I opted for the Armor Signature Burger, served with pepperjack cheese, crispy jalapenos, a bit of sweet bacon jam, and a juicy meat patty and bacon. It was done to a proper medium as requested, and accompanying fries were crispy and delicious as well. I did sample some of my wife's bacon fried rice and while I wish it had had more of the promised house kimchi, it was a flavor delight and was popular all around the table. This is a great place for brunch. They have an expansive and nice looking indoor seating area as well for when the weather gets rough, we'll be sure to check that out

Ambiance was nice, the employees were great but it wasn't my cup of tea.. a date took me here awhile back and I'm not a beer person so I opted for a margarita which here is made with hard seltzer... I couldn't even finish it. Wasn't the same.. also had some fish tacos and asked for nothing spicy and it still came out with some spicy sauce.. not a fan but might be yours

Love this place. We visited on a Groupon and ended up getting a few flights. They have a whole bunch of different beers to try. They all were great!! We even got a few glasses to bring home with us and a few cans as well. We had the buffalo chicken flatbread as well.

My husband and I went out for a drive and stumbled across the shopping center. It was bigger than I thought it was. Besides of the terrible drivers, we were able to find parking quickly. While we were walking, we saw Brass Tap. My husband was raving about the one closer to our house and was excited to show me the restaurant. This location was darker than the one closer to our house, but it was very clean, comfortable, and best of all - at the bar there's a hook to hang your bags!It was very slow... There was an older gentleman and us. Don't get me wrong.. I like it this way.. it was just odd. There were maybe 5 tvs above the taps and different sports were shown. There was a bartender - I don't remember his name, but he was very helpful with our drinks. He let us sample his favorite ones and they were delicious - mamosa cider and a tropical punch cider. Both were great, but we ended up getting the mamosa. We ordered the triple sampler - salsa, queso, and guacamole; chicken sliders, and the carnivore pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy which came to my surprise. We will definitely come back to sample more taps and eat different foods on the menu.

"Had a really good visit here on a Saturday afternoon. The beers were great but the best part was talking to the staff. We had a non beer drinker with us and they provided really personal suggestions and have samples to make sure they had a good experience. We also helped taste test a new drink they were working on.A typical brewery experience with snacks and you can bring your own food but the team makes the difference."
"I briefly met the owner earlier this year, and in addition to being a nice guy, he seemed very passionate about his business. So when I noticed them on Door Dash I gladly ordered lunch as this is the type of person and business I want to support. The first time, I tried the Angus sliders off the appetizer menu since I wasn't too hungry and it was plenty for $9.99. The patties were very thick so they were filling for the size. They come with cheese, red onion and a bbq sauce. I got it without onion and the sauce on the side. The burger was well seasoned, the slider buns were buttery and crispy on the edges and were also thicker than your average slider bun (very smart choice) and the sauce was tasty and complimented it well. It was a really good first impression. I think I saw this on the Yelp delivery menu more recently at $1 more, which is understandable- supply chain issues and more expensive protein costs will of course impact the menu prices.I feel pretty certain I tried several sandwiches from here this summer, but with my ADD if I don't have a pic posted, it may not have happened, lol. So I'll just stick to the details I definitely remember. About a month ago I ordered the pot roast grilled cheese with tots. I believe it was $13.99. It comes with jalapenos, but I never know how spicy jalapenos will be and I was at work, so I got it without. It was a good thickness and the portion was more than fair for the price. I have no complaints as I like grilled cheese, I like brisket and I like tots. It was a solid meal that got me through the day and I think I was only able to finish about half of it. Today I tired the sirloin steak Caesar salad for $12.99. While I wouldn't have minded more steak, the size of the salad matched my expectation. I liked that the thin slices made it easier to eat with other ingredients and the dressing was much tastier than I typically get from a Caesar salad.I haven't been in person due to my work schedule, but they are located in The Shops at Highland Village and if I find myself over there with extra time, I would definitely stop in. Seems like a nice place for Happy Hour on the patio.I find their appetizer menu especially to be interesting and varied and it seems like they put a lot of time and thought into their sauces. The rest of the menu is typical bar fare with a variety of nachos, burgers, sandwiches and salads, so exactly the type of food my husband eats. I just like that they have a good mix of proteins to choose from like shrimp, chicken, turkey, pork and I think I've seen an impossible burger on the menu. I saw a few reviews mentioning tiny portions, but I haven't had that experience at all. I know several specifically mentioned items that are appetizers, so I'm not sure if people are trying to make a meal out of Happy Hour apps or if people are still struggling to accept price fluctuations with supply and demand. I mean, I'm not thrilled that I've been spending more at the grocery store, but businesses are going through the same struggles so I'm not surprised if I see something more expensive than it was the last time. Besides, the price is completely in line with the other businesses in the area and there are more expensive options in the same shopping center."
