"We stopped in as a party of 5 Sunday evening, and were acknowledged right away by the bartender but had to wait a little over 5 mins for someone to actually come and seat us. Our server was very nice and efficient. We ordered fried pickles and fried jalapeños as well as the queso, salsa and chips - everything was yummy. My kids both ordered the steak fingers and fries and enjoyed their meals. We ordered two single meat plates with chopped meat- chopped brisket onion rings and okra and the Tennessee Texas hot sandwich with chips. Tennessee Texas hot sandwich was misleading bc it was not spicy although the breading was red and was not flavored. It was very underwhelming but everything else was great. I will say, Bathrooms were small and dirty. My son went into the men's restroom and walked right back out stating it was too dirty for him to use. If in the area, we would prob stop again."
"Quick and delicious ribs. The meat comes right off the bone - sorry could not resist. Friendly service and good variety of sides. A nice little spot for a quick fix of ribs or BBQ."

"I placed a take out order here on November 4, 2024 after competing in a Jiu Jitsu Tournament in Dallas. I was craving BBQ -- thanks to Yelp, I stumbled upon Smokey John's. It was about an hour to closing so the place was almost empty. But the staff here were still very attentive, professional and friendly. Popular menu items include: slow-cooked brisket, juicy ribs, house-made sausages, fried catfish, blackened tilapia, collard greens, candied sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese.I ordered " The Smoke Plate" brisket with collard greens and Mac n cheese. And they did NOT disappoint! When in Dallas, you have to stop by Smokey John's for some BBQ, you won't regret it!!"
"Hello Yelpers. 2025 is upon us, new year, new experiences. My niece was flying out to Vegas, so fav uncle and cousin had the privilege of seeing her off.She flew out Southwest @Love field. We had time for brunch. Open up Yelp to see if anyone has found a spot.Of course you have. Maple Landing. I love plane spotting. The patio at Maple Landing perfectly faces the take off path of Southwest Airlines. The service is incredible. No sooner than seated, our beverage orders were taken. Some great suggestions were offered. They had brisket sausage. Yes, for brunch. I had the fluffiest french toast, with a ginormous pile of the plumpest, juiciest fresh blueberries ever. My eggs were a perfect over medium. My son ordered pancakes. To be honest, as big as they were, one would have been plenty. Super light, rose high enough to block a planes take off. Topped with caramalized bananas, nothing needed syrup. Best of all was the service. Every aspect of this experience was 6 star. Yelp has kind of spoiled me. I know know what to expect, and where to find it. The food and service was 5 star. The patio view of others flying off to great adventures earned a 6th star. Hope you each make it out here to experience this for yourselves."
"Food was top tier highly recommend this place chicken was tender and Mac and cheese was amazing"
"I've ordered takeout from this place three times in the past two weeks. It's consistently delicious and always packaged with care. The servers are incredibly efficient, ensuring you get your food promptly, even when the restaurant is busy. Thank you Omi team."
"We decided to grab some lunch before heading home after a Cowboys game, and we settled on Damian's.I wanted the smothered oxtails, but decided on fried ribs once I got to the serving area. They were AMAZING, and they gave us so much food.My husband got Salisbury steak, which wasn't his fave...but he really enjoyed the red beans and rice and mac and cheese. I got the ribs which were everyone's fave. They came with rice and brown gravy, and two side. The brown gravy tasted like the powdered mix to me, but you better believe I ate it...I didn't love the cabbage, it was a little bland, BUT, the collard greens were bomb!My pals got catfish and seemed to enjoy that as well, it was fresh and cooked to order. They also really loved the vanilla pound cake.Damian was up front with the crew serving, and by the patrons, it looks like it's a local fave. Was also really impressed with the lady at the register. She was helpful and service was top notch!"
"smoky rose is definitely a neighborhood staple. i really like smoky rose, but there is a lot of inconsistency with the food. i've been to smoky rose a dozen times over about two years and i've seen so many changes. 1st the there used to be 3 tacos with a taco order, now there is only 2 tacos. but the same cost as 3 tacos. 2nd the loaded baked potatoes were gigantic, now they are about half the size the used to be... but the same price they have been. i also used to be able to sub the meat for mac n cheese. now they wont allow that substitution. and although i order the potato w/o meat nor a substitution... they still charge as if there is meat on the potato. absolutely absurd 3rd the dr. pepper cake is different every single time i visit. sometimes it's one layer.. sometimes it's two layers.. sometimes it's very rich.. sometimes it's dry. i would just like some consistency around these things. the potato & fish taco situation is what bothers me the most. the service is always chill. the servers get things out quickly and are attentive. i really like sitting outside in the evening, its a great atmosphere. i also, think they have live music sometimes... but ive never been able to catch it."
"Oh my goodness y'all, this is REALLY good BBQ!!We often do Railhead or Ribbee's for ribs but this is actually better. Wuite a lot better. We had the chopped brisket sandwiches and the smoked Mac & cheese. The sandwiches were BIG (see pic) and the meat was actually chunks of brisket- not like so many others that are mush. Think Chick-fil-A nuggets compared to McNuggets. Great flavor & smoke. The Mac & cheese was pretty spicy & had something crunchy on top that added a bit of depth. We both really liked it - especially dipped in the BBQ sauce provided on each table. Only thing that could be improved on was the girl at the counter. Acted like she would've rather been anywhere else. Seems like a pretty good place to be as far as I can tell."
"I walked out here before the dinner crowd got here and I'm so excited I did. Walk straight in order what I wanted looks . The two plate meal brisket and them doggone ribs. I don't know how you cannot like this place the music is amazing the restaurant has a great feel like you're out in the high country My size or the burnt end beans and the Mexican corn. The beans had a Nice spice to them . Oh let me not forget, the sides are a Nice size portion. Everything was great, its now time for me to get to work."
"Music event was so fun. Festive lighting and roomy seating outside next to the Farris wheel!"
"I came here for lunch and not the all-you-can-eat buffet. The food was good despite the exterior part of the building looking rough: I ordered basic Korean dishes like a classic bibimbap and a clear noodle soup. Both solidly delicious. Same with the Korean sidedishes served as an appetizer. The interior of the restaurant is huge. Looks like they have a second floor as well. And Sura was empty during weekday lunchtime. If you're looking for good Korean food and don't want to deal with the crowds at Carrollton, then I'd recommend Sura."

Off the Bone Barbeque is a family owned barbecue joint in downtown Dallas that serves up barbecue ribs, smoked brisket, and all your favorites in a non-descript location. What was most surprising about my trip, however, wasn't the ribs or smoked meats. I discovered the Chocolate Chip Pecan cookie. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food)Atmosphere - You'll find Off the Bone Barbecue south of downtown Dallas. Plenty of seating on my Thursday 12:30 PM visit. I didn't find the long lines at other DFW BBQ joints, nor did I find the same charm. But it clean and seating was not a problem. 1/2 Star.Service - The staff was very friendly. We placed our order at the counter, and later a server brought out our food. They were fast, efficient, friendly, and always smiling. 1 Star.Food - I ordered a two-meat plate with brisket and ribs. It was good but not great. The bark on the brisket had plenty of flavor and was tender on the fatty side, but I had to dip the rest in the excellent, tangy barbecue sauce. True to the name of the restaurant, the meat fell off the bone of my ribs. They were short - like St. Louis style ribs. Tender and when dipped in the sauce, my bite was superb. But both meats lacked a heavy smoke flavor that I've grown accustomed to and expect. To finish my meal, I had a Chocolate Chip Pecan cookie. Wow. This was not only the best item I ate at Off the Bone Barbecue, but the moist cookie with generous amounts of chocolate and pecan was one of the best cookies I've ever had anywhere. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - No. While there are better barbecue options in DFW, the Chocolate Chip Pecan cookie was fantastic. However, I'd rather return because of my meal, not my dessert. No Stars.

I was visiting in town and had a craving for hot links. So I looked up this place and had my brother take me there for the first time. Well let me say the atmosphere was chilled and not over crowded. But the staff was super amazing! They greeted us when we arrived and explained how to order food. We both ordered the fried fish basket, it came with five pieces and fries. I got small greens and Mac&Cheese. Greens were good and same with Mac&Cheese. Also, I got the hot link basket with fries, to go, ordered with no salt. We had to wait about 15-20 on the fish basket and it was worth it. They came hot and seasoned very well. My brother was full and enjoyed it. I had sweet tea and peach cobbler for dessert, which I brought back to the motel for later. And to top it off, the Sons owner stopped over to thank us for coming and had a wonderful demeanor. I would definitely come back again, because the staff was constantly asking if we needed anything.

We had an appointment at UT Southwestern and decided to see what kind of restaurants were close by when this one popped up. It had a patio ... so EVEN BETTER! We waited a little bit for our waiter to come over, but that gave us some time to look at the menu and not feel rushed. We aren't really into craft beer and lucky for us they had Michelob Ultra. We got the sliced brisket sandwich and the brisket melt with house made fries. We both asked for our brisket to be chopped, but I guess they forgot. They were both amazing sandwiches. The fries were really good, but after seeing the sweet potato fries come out we had wished we had ordered them instead. Oh well... next time! Definitely give them a try if you are in the area.

Not bad for a KBBQ place in Dallas. My friend recommend me this place while I'm in town. She's been coming to this place, because the taste has been consistent good. There is an option of them cooking the food in the kitchen and bringing it out to you or you can grill it at the table. I prefer grilling at the table because you can cook it to your liking and it's nice and hot. The staff actually helps grill majority of the order. Both the prime rib and pork belly tasted pretty good. It was perfect amount that fed 3 people. Their banchan are delicious and my favorite is their eggplant and tofu. They make kimchi fried rice at the end of the meal, so don't forget to save some meat for them to mix it in! If I'm back in town, I wouldn't mind coming back again.

I've had this restaurant bookmarked for a lil while and was hungry one day so I figured why not try Damian's.Damian's get a good hard 3 stars. The service was speedy just like I like it.Food here is good. The fish here has some sort of specialty seasoning on it which is tasty and is a decent size. After awhile the seasoning became a little overwhelming, but overall it was good. The fries were basic with the same type of seasoning on it as the fish. The fries didn't taste like they were freshly cut, but still good. The greens had a delicious flavor to them. However, they were overcooked. Overall, I'd actually visit Damian's again for the fast service and fish that was hot, freshly fried, and was decently priced.

Smokey Rose is Southern BBQ done right. The restaurant is located across from the Botanical garden, making it a great destination to stop by after a visit. The space feels like a large enclosed patio that's thoughtfully designed to create a fine dining experience that's homey and chill. We ordered a 1/2 board of meats which were some of the best cuts I've had. The turkey was surprisingly our table's favorite-- perfectly tender, seasoned and cooked. The short- rib was a close second, and brisket! They were all incredibly mouth-watering. We ordered a few small side dishes: fried okra, pinto beans, green beans, mash potatoes, and collard greens. They were all spot on. The collard greens could have went a tad less salty but the rest were perfect. Our waiter, Patrick was friendly and super attentive. There was also a live musician playing while we dinned which made for a beautiful Southern dining experience.

"Let me start by saying that I have been to this place 5 times since early March!!... today is April 2nd. (Yes, I know... I have terrible eating habits)That should say a lot tho!Bottom line... absolutely give them a visit! So why did I give four stars instead of five you ask? Good question.I deducted one star for inconsistent performance. Three of the five times that I've visited have been phenomenal. Whereas the other two times have, unfortunately, missed the mark rather substantially.-The first time I went :I ordered a half pound of pork ribs, and a small side of mac & cheese. I literally made it three blocks before the wafting scent of smoky rib deliciousness won and I had to pull the car over and just chow down in the 7-Eleven parking lot. (I will say that the mac & cheese was just OK but MY mac & cheese is amazing so everything else basically fades in comparison!)-The second time I ordered:the food was just as good and luckily I made it all the way home. However I did decide to pass on the mac & cheese.Third time:I went on my lunch break and it was everything that I wanted it to be.. it hit that greasy spot and it just made me glad to live AND work rather close to such an amazing barbecue place (it's a catch 22, really)This is where it gets tricky because for weeks I had been raving to my friends and family about this barbecue place; how amazing the barbecue, how it's fall-off-the-bone tender, etc. Alas, I finally had a friend to join me for lunch and of course we decide it best if we go to Blus barbecue and on this day not only were the ribs incredibly tough to the point that we were not able to eat them but they were also incredibly over seasoned and I mean heavy heavy heavy on the pepper. I apologized to my friend I told her heyit's not normally like this she understood because she had been hearing me rave about these ribs and me being the picky person that I am she knew that it must just be a one off.The fifth time that I went which is the pictures that you see below the meat was fall off the bone tender I even explain explain to the cashier that my last experience was definitely subpar he apologize and threw in a spare rib. But as you can see the ribs were definitely fall off the fall off the bone tinder however they were not seasoned well and they just didn't have that you know like it's almost as if they may have been boiled or some thing I'm not sure if maybe they changed cooks in the back I don't know but whoever was there in the back cooking at the beginning of March we need to bring that person back because the consistency is really what's throwing me off at this point. Now that I finish the ribs in the pictures below. Period.... AbsolutelyWill I be in just as quick of a hurry to go there again I don't think so because I'm just afraid to get disappointed at this particular junction... but it was fun while it lasted!!"
"The Texans do not play when it comes to their BBQ. It's damn good! The brisket just melts in your mouth. The fattier the better in my book. My brother suggested trying the Texas Twinkie (large Jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese wrapped in bacon) and the Jalapeño Cheddar sausage... didn't take much convincing. Anything Jalapeño is a must-try for me! They weren't spicy, packed the perfect punch of flavor. The Mac was good (not the best I've had), the corn was alright (not my fave), and the corn bread was good. I was starving when I placed my order so I ordered a little more than I could handle. My leftovers were practically a whole new meal. The guys behind the counter were super friendly and answered all of my questions without making me feel like a bother. The place is big, very spacious, plenty of seating inside and outside. Apparently I missed a spectacular view of the sunset from the top floor with my nephew while I was in the restroom washing my hands. Bummer! Oh! & as if they couldn't get any better... they offered all you could eat dessert! Your choice of Banana Pudding or Peach Cobbler!!! Plus, ice cream to top them off. I went back for seconds of that Peach Cobbler that's for sure. Yum! This is my nephew's favorite BBQ joint and the kid knows his food (he's four). His parents taught him well! We love food!"
"Had a craving for Korean food on a recent trip to Dallas so I checked Yelp and found Maht Gaek in Plano. It's located in the Ranch 99 supermarket shopping center. We arrived just before the noon lunch rich and got seated right away. They were busy throughout lunch and a constant line of customers waiting for a table. The service is fast and efficient and the food comes out fast. Only downfall is the tables are small and the four top we sat at could not hold all the dishes we ordered. BBQ pork ribs 5 stars their signature dish. Meaty grilled pork stacked on a hot plate. Oxbone soup 4.5 stars great bone broth could have had more toppings and noodles. Sautéed calamari 5 stars large portion spicy sweet. Grilled mackerel 3 stars good portions a bit dryBanchans we're good especially the eggplantService was good. Plenty of parking."
"The food was delicious and the service was great!! We tried the brisket, hot links, jalapeño sausage, potato salad, and mac and cheese. Also, got the 3 stuffed jalapeños and everything was tasty!! The place is cute on the inside and spacious"
"I'm going to cut right to the chase. The staff at this restaurant will get tired of seeing me. I plan to eat here as often as I can. I enjoy cooking, but every once in a while, I like to sit in a restaurant and eat someone else's cooking. Cooking is definitely what the chefs in this restaurant know how to do!I ordered two catfish dinners to go. My sides were fried okra, Texas caviar, sweet potato fries, cornbread salad and potato salad. My mom and I shared everything. Everything, and I mean everything, was so good! The food was full of flavor and love. I also ordered banana pudding and strawberry cake. I could eat those everyday. The cake was incredibly moist and the pudding was creamy. Customer service is outstanding! John greeted me when I walked in and was so professional. Since it was my first time, he informed me about the menu. There was another young lady who assisted me at the register and young man who gave me my order, and they were great! I obviously plan to be a repeat customer! I highly recommend!"
"I met up with a colleague here and had the $12.99 sandwich plate with pulled pork, beans, and coleslaw. The place has some character and charm, and the food came out fast. The meal is certainly better and less greasy than many fast-food options, and around the same price. Nothing was great, nothing was bad."
"We dashed their special meal. The ribs were fall off the bone and tasted great. The brisket was soft and juicy just like you want. Slathered in their bbq sauce was heavenly. The sides were average but the potato salad was great. All in all, pretty damn good."
"This was my first visit to Gao's BBQ & Crab and I can say that it will not be my last. My guest and I ordered alot to try and to our surprise, everything we ate was GREAT! Everything was seasoned well and very tasty. Service was also above and Beyond. Our waiter guided us through the menu once we arrived and he was very attentive to our needs. Here is a rating of everything we ate.Fried Oysters: 4/5Fried Spring Roll: 4.8/5Small Lamb with fat: 4.5/5Special Sausage: 3/5Shrimp fried rice: 3/5Egg Fried Noodles: 4/5Cabbage: 3/5Green Beans: 2.8/5Peppered Beef: 2/5"It was very chewy"Prawn: 1/5Quail: 1/5Spicy Grilled Fish: 4/5Hongkong Lemon tea + Rum: 5/5Grapefruit Green tea + Rum: 5/5"
"The food is always amazing !! The meats are cooked to perfection! The service here is welcoming and friendly they really do care! If the weather is nice sitting outside is perfect but inside is also inviting, they have tvs all over and play great music ! My husbands burger was out of this world!!"
"We were glad we decided to try a new restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated, by the host. Our server Angel was very attentive and friendly. The food overall was great! From the BBQ to the country style options. My daughter tried their smash burger & it was also really good. We had some pecan pie w/ vanilla ice cream & homemade banana pudding too... We will definitely be coming back for more!"
"Casual spot where you seat yourself and have the option of scanning a QR code to order or you can order with a waiter. Housemade beers on tap is pretty cool. The 10:12 IPA Stout is good (kinda sweet). Bacon wrapped jalapeños were flavored well and smoky, HOWEVER, served lukewarm :|. The brisket queso was average. The cheese was like off brand Velveeta, but the brisket helped it out a lot. Elotes was definitely a miss. Pretty bland and, again, served lukewarm. Chopped brisket sandwich was good albeit a bit on the salty side. Decent meal, but wouldn't come back tbh."
"Definitely one of my go to places for quick fix of Korean fusion food. Their togo service is stellar. I've never had my food order wrong and precise with special instructionsLove getting their loaded Bulgogi fries and Chasu-Don. Bulgogi has a char grilled flavor. Ingredients are fresh. Great flavor for both items."
"I've been meaning to try Sideways for over a year! This was a recommendation from another DFW Yelp Elite member when I was new to the area.Ambiance: Finally made it over to Rockwall to check this place out. The restaurant is very much the rustic, country, vibe! They were blasting 90s and current country songs. As we were leaving (around 7:30 PM on a Saturday), the performers for the live band began setting up! Looks like a good place to enjoy some BBQ, and live (country(?)) music. The outdoor patio is pretty large, and they have a corn hole area as well.Service: The service was friendly, but slow. The food came out slow, but it's probably due to the crazy amount of people out that day (beautiful spring day, and prom weekend).Food: We ordered the following dishes to share between the 2 of us1) sideways belly cheater/Fried Pork Rib (3/5: would pass on this! Came out dry)2) Smoked Bacon Wrapped Pimento Cheese Stuffed Jalapenos (5/5: this was amazing!! Deff need a good run after this to open up my Cardiovascular system again!)3) sliced brisket (4/5: so tender, so juicy, melts right in your mouth)4) smoked turkey (3.5/5: very flavorful. Wish it wasn't as dry)5) Jalapeño sausage with cheddar cheese (3.5/4: good, but wish the jalapeño had a kick)Overall, we had a really good time at Sideways enjoying BBQ and a little people watching on the patio!NOTE: the patio tables definitely need to be refinished (the lacquer disintegrated). Be careful or you might get a splinter or 2!"
"Very good bbq!! We got brisket and pulled pork!! Yum!!! We got it as takeout, but will most likely eat in next time! Very nice people behind the counter!!!"
"Every time I'm in town and want bar b Que; it's David's. Unbelievably consistent with their brisket, ribs and sauce. Yah gotta go to this place, but come hungry!!! Only thing other tan Eaton is the ice cold Shiner (beer) on tap. Loveeeee this joint, and so will u. Lots of parking, clean rest rooms, not open Sunday & Monday."
"Was craving some Korean bbq and this one was closest to us while visiting Texas. The place doesn't look like much but the wait time was short and the service was excellent. Our waitress was super adorable and helped us with our orders and making sure our bowls of sides were always replenished as well as meat order. The food was delicious. The price was only $25 for all you can eat.An added bonus, they offer military discount too.Would recommend this place . Can't wait to come visit again."
"Just not good.. just mediocre barbecue for people who don't know any betterThere are much better offerings in the area"
"Final review, to average out my visits. I'll just say, when they're good, they are excellent. I've had a couple of blips but they will make it right. Definitely give them a try."
"Delicious food. Friendly service. Large private room for parties. Great special dishes snd dim sum."
"We went around 1:30 on Friday afternoon for lunch. That probably says most if we're talking about the brisket that was left on the day. The brisket wasn't the most flavorful and a little more fatty than I'd liked, but there has to be some fat for the flavor. They also didn't have fried okra, which I heard was a go-to for sides. I had the brisket plate with zucchini casserole. Think of stuffing mixed with steamed zucchini. For not being a zucchini fan, I was surprised at the taste and consistency. Thick and filling as you'd expect, I recommend! The service was speedy and although I asked for someone lean to the brisket, it was more fatty. The place would be a great venue for happy hour if there was an additional bar, but it looks like the offer music at certain points in time during the week.Check us out:- onestepeachday.com- https://seated.app.link/AxgPtLj1Mvb"
"Great food - Everything we have tried here has been really good. Recommend the Burnt ends and onion rings. Order extra cornbread, it is amazing!"
"The staff here are so sweet and attentive and the food is fantastic! Get there early for their ribs before they run out, but all their meat is delicious. Highly recommend 10/10!"
"This place was good Mac and cheese was AMAZING And the slice of pecan pie was delish."
