"The food landscape across Texas is dominated by Mexican restaurants for as far as the eye can see. So, finding a Guatemalan restaurant brought immediate excitement, as I'd never had the opportunity to sample food from that country. The restaurant is fairly large, with an amply sized dining area as well as a coffee shop, bakery, and small store.Upon my arrival it was pretty busy, with a wait of roughly 20 minutes. I figured surely this place had to be good! Once seated I was given a rather extensive menu that had a multitude of options I wasn't expecting. Let's start with the drinks; they have a large selection of hot and iced coffee beverages, from regular coffee to specialty flavored and seasonal lattes in addition to fruit flavored creations and smoothies. Essentially, whatever kind of coffee you fancy, they have it!The food menu is vast, and there are an abundance of traditional as well as American breakfast items ranging from enchiladas and chilaquiles to omelettes, French Toast, and pancakes. Although it wasn't on the menu, the server was accommodating and allowed me to get a mocha. After a long hard look, I decided on the eggs with loroco and cheese. The mocha was a creamy blend of chocolate and espresso that was quite satisfying, while the eggs came with plantains, refried black beans, salsa, and a slice of cheese. Wow, the infusion of flavor was something to behold! The eggs were perfect, while the black beans and plantains delivered a boost of savory satisfaction. The best part of it all? I left feeling satisfied, not uncomfortably bloated. If you're in the Dallas area and want to step outside your comfort zone, check this place out. I will be sure to"
"The ambiance, service and especially the food... AAAmazing!!!!! Love to dine here either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Since it's located on Main St. of Downtown Grapevine and with its modernized & cozy dining area, you can entertain any out-of-town guests with confidence."

"My family and I have been going here for the past 5 years or so. We all LOVE the boba and its really good. My kids get the Lychee Peach black tea, and its amazing! DEFINITELY TRY! The service is also very nice! And, the entire place is really cute."
"What a gem! Friendly people. Great food. Beer was amazing and getting myFavorite childhood dessert. I am an American with German roots and this place is legit! Cute ambiance too!"
"My family has been going here since before I was born and it remains my favorite restaurant. The best arepa and tres leches I've ever had. Service can be a little slow depending on who's working waitstaff but they'll come to you right away if you flag them down."
"First time at Bread Winners Cafe and it was awesome! Dana at the bar area recommended so many great brunch items! 10 STARS ALL AROUND!"
"Village Baking off Oak Lawn is a one of several locations around Dallas. This is a good thing because their baked goods are excellent, and this is a very convenient location for people who live in the area.My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return)Atmosphere - While the location is convenient, the parking is not. Good luck finding a parking spot - because there are only 4 spots. Inside is a warm, cozy bakery with a few tables for patrons. Village Baking's best feature will be the baked goods sitting behind the glass. The only problem is choosing what you want to eat. 1/2 Star (no parking)Service - The staff is great and patient. The staff will help you make some selections, choose the appropriate packaging, and will even craft you a great cup of coffee. Nothing but good vibes here. 1 Star.Food - Every item is good, from the flaky croissants or the many cakes. But I go to Village Baking for Kouign-amann and laminated brioche. The Kouign-amann combines sweet, salty, sticky, buttery, crispy, flaky, and tender elements. It has a hint of caramel. Try this: carefully break into its flaky center, take a bite, then chase it with black coffee. Repeat until there is none left. The laminated brioche also has multiple layers of butter which results in a flaky and layered texture. When you sink your teeth into the buttery brioche it unravels in delicate, flaky layers with every bite. Also goes well with black coffee. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Only if I'm in the area. The good news is Village Bakery has multiple locations throughout Dallas and the pastries are all excellent. The bad news is the Oak Lawn location isn't as accessible as other location. I'll only be back if I have no other options. 1/2 Stars."
"I get my birthday cake from here every year and everyone always raves about it! Everyone is always so kind and accommodating. Every flavor of cupcake also has been incredible. My fav bakery in Dallas"

"Walking to this cute hiddden gem will take you back in history!!! The service was amazing! Ordering took a little long but once you get to the register you see why they truly are attentive to each customer! The food was AMAZING very flavorful and fresh! Fair pricing!"
"Been coming here the last few months and it's been a fantastic spot to grab some breakfast and coffee. Great service and you should definitely try the breakfast tacos (the bacon ones are the best). Also coffee is great! Good music and great location in downtown Dallas."
"Delicious cupcakes!!!! We Got a lemon cupcake and a black velvet. The presentation was chefs kiss!"

This bakery-restaurant is a must visit when in Dallas. The taste on their plates and sweets are delicious. Just make sure what the drinks include because it's not the same as what we are used to. Service from our waitress was amazing. Constantly checking up on our table and never made an unwelcome gesture. Bakery is connected to the restaurant, so you can just go walk and see what sweets you want. The ambiance was great too. Very welcoming.

Of course Main Street Bistro is a Grapevine institution, and I love it! It pains me to give a four star rating. We were seated right away, which was great! We each ordered custom omelets with the waffle fries plus strawberries with romanoff sauce. The food was pretty good, though the omelet was dry, and we were both surprised that there was just a mound of cheese on top, most unmelted. The main reason I have a four is our server. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if waiting tables is not suited for him. He was pretty clueless and slow.

The food was amazing, and the ambience perfect. Our server must have been working there a long time ago - he expertly balanced connecting with the customers and expediting with the other staff.

This is my updated review after visiting Zaguan again last week after about a year ago. It's just so lovely here!! From their website, "Zaguán is the elaborate entry-passage in the grand old colonial homes of Spain and Latin American." I always get so impressed when places like this exist in Dallas. It's like an escape from the day to day. If you're looking for a gorgeous mosaic of stone and tile, menu items like cheese arepas, empanadas, plantain chips, and fresh veggies, come here. Order yourself a cappuccino, sit by a window, and live your best life. The staff are so kind and patient with you and make you feel at home. 100% recommend for a work/study date.

2024 - Yelp 100 Challenge #13If you're in the mood for a flavorful meal, then stop in to Bread Winners Cafe. Their Chicken & Waffles and Normandy French Toast was the star of the show. Service was quick and friendly. Chicken & Waffles Served with a fried chicken breast, cheddar, bacon waffles, maple syrup, and japelano gravy. Normandy French Toast Stuffed French Toast with cream cheese, jam, and topped with strawberries and whipped cream. Bakery Items Their Cinnamon Rolls/ Buns are highly recommended, so if you have a big party, feel free to order one to share with the table.

Daddy Daughter DateSo, I began this daddy-daughter date with the intention of fulfilling a cherished promise of having tea time. If you're anything like me, you appreciate the authenticity and immersive essence of an experience. Society Bakery & Tea Room offers an exceptional, timeless aesthetic, evident in everything from its beautifully curated decor to the patrons who frequent the establishment. The atmosphere exudes a classic charm that transports you to another era. My daughter's sheer, unfiltered joy was something remarkable, a happiness I'd never witnessed firsthand before. What an inviting space! Truly, this is a premier destination for daddy-daughter tea dates that leaves a lasting impression.Reviews by Ira Elijah

"The food is always amazing !! The meats are cooked to perfection! The service here is welcoming and friendly they really do care! If the weather is nice sitting outside is perfect but inside is also inviting, they have tvs all over and play great music ! My husbands burger was out of this world!!"
"My friend and I stopped by Breadwinners this past week while shopping at North Park and decided to enjoy the beautiful Texas weather by sitting on the patio. The outdoor seating is in a lovely courtyard, surrounded by shops, which made for a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the French Ham Benedict to share, and both dishes were great but not anything to write home to. I wish the waffles had more of that jalepeno flavor as they are jalepeno waffles but that is more of a personal preference. They came out quickly, and our server was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. All in all, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back."
"If you're in need of strong, delicious coffee. This is the spot. Can actually taste the espresso in the drinks that I can appreciate when most "hip" coffee spots don't hit the spot. There is a huge workspace towards the back, where you can sip your coffee and do some work.I got the Kentucky cold brew, for under 5$ this drink was 10/10. Can opt for a splash or in my case, a heavy splash of milk of your choice. Cold brew was strong and so so good. Def will be back to this cafe!!"
"Nice start to hump day. There have been so many new "sweet shops" opened around Dallas in the last few years,I decided I'd better try a few.Next up on my list, is Palmeris. I found myself in this part of downtown on business so, decided to partake in a coffee and pastry. Palmieri came up with good temperatures on Yelp so, I went for it. Its located in the Gentrified area called Farmers Market. In my childhood this was a real working farmers market and you could come here on any day of the week and find a selection of common foods, from fresh vegetables to meat and everything in between. Now it's been enclosed and spaces rented to food stalls and shops. Nice area. Most businesses were still closed when I arrived at about 920am. I searched for a while until I found Palmieri cafe. I didn't realize it was a walk-up. No harm though, they have an excellent staff of three waiting to expertly help you.I ended up ordering a Cappucino and Cornetto. The Cappucino was perfectly prepared and placed in a Real Cup for my pleasure. A Cornetto is a pastry made with eggs, butter, water, and sugar, then filled with pastry cream.I have to admit. For almost $5 I expected more. The flavor of the bread was fairly average and I expected a bite of richness. The cream filling was almost nonexistent. They could improve here.I would say if you are here and in the mood for a coffee or pastry give them a try. Otherwise, I don't think id go out of my way to get here!"
"More great experiences to rave about this place! Their staff is so polite, knowledgeable, and kind. Love how they change their menu seasonally. Their fall and winter menus had some unique flavors and I can't wait to come back before their spring release to try a few more things."
"Enjoyed a business lunch meeting here.Service was spectacular. Our server was managing the whole dining room by herself and did so such gracefully -- smiling at every table. She made a hard job look effortlessly easy!Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all agreed that our food was prepared with a lot of fresh ingredients. Not a lot of places can still own that because things are often preheated and the re-heated, etc. It was clear that everything ordered for our table was made to order.I personally ordered the Rustic Nicoise Steak Salad which is described on the menu as 'Mixed Greens with a Poached Egg, Red Potatoes, Haricot Vert, Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, and Avocado paired with a Light Herb Vinaigrette.' Really great make up of a light (and very filling) salad. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself had a laid back community feel -- nothing too fancy or uptight. These guys also sell whole cakes in different flavors, shapes, and sizes.Support local small businesses y'all!"
"I didn't think their award winning carrot cake would actually be any good. I was expecting dry or too sweet. It was completely delicious! Moist and perfect amount of sweetness. I'm craving for it now. Must go back."
"3 stars for the food, but + star for our server Ali (Alibaba). My friend and I were seated on the patio for brunch by the hostess. However, no one informed the waitstaff that there was a new table seated (us). We waited for about 15 minutes before we received water and tableware.Ali was so nice and apologized! He was fantastic and really made our first time visiting the restaurant so much better!I would not recommend sitting outside on the patio where there are patio cushions involved. The cushions sunk down once you're seated and it's very uncomfortable! We both ordered the breakfast croissant (scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon), which was good, but nothing spectacular. You will be able to choose how you like your eggs, and what protein to add.The inside of the restaurant was dark, and the bathrooms were not clean!"
"Very cute little shop, ordered 12 beignets, tastes pretty good and fluffy, can kinda taste the yeast in the bread but they are still good. Would buy again. nice staff"
"How much do I love this place? I ride my bike there on the weekends! 30 mile round trip! Renew is where I stop to refuel. A latte and the best homemade cinnamon roll in the area. The location is very clean. The owners are super nice! The staff is very efficient. The coffee is fantastic! I pass at least three other coffee shops to stop at Renew! Wonderful place!"
"Hands down the best Bakery in the DFW if not the state of Texas! The owners are the best people you could ever meet. The presentation of the pastries is very nice. You can see the pride put into the bakery and their products. This place rivals with bakeries in Paris. Please go and patronize this establishment. It's wonderful!!! We'll definitely return for more! Often!"
"Good food. Definitely order the arroz chaufa and causa . Friendly service and spacious . Their pastries are really good too."
"Food and service was quick - ordered through the kiosk and had my food in minutesVery clean and niceThe scone was delicious"
"Stein's seems to have gone downhill recently, which makes me very sad. The pastries and cakes are still yummy. However, the attention to detail is completely lacking, which results in inconsistent quality.I recently stopped in and picked up a box of petit fours. ALL OF THEM were lacking icing on multiple sides because the wrapper had stuck to the sides of the cake, and then the icing hadn't reached the sides. See photo. I buy these for the fantastic icing-to-cake ratio. What's the point of buying basically the tiniest imaginable piece of cake that only has icing on the top??Totally unacceptable, especially for the price."
"Chicken shawarma was fresh and not too heavy. Like the minis gherkins inside. Will be back! Ambiance not the greatest."
"Cute coffee shop, coffee and pastries are really good. Service was quick and friendly! Recommended!"
"Great hidden gem! We had the pastrami sandwich and the Reuben and both were excellent! House made bread and desserts are to die for will definitely return!"
"Excellent Colombian food - pastries are awesome and food flavors leColombiana can't be best as well as the fruit smoothies Thanks"
"By far, one of the best bakeries in Dallas. Not only are their cakes beautiful and delicious, they are the most wonderful people. My go-to for any special occasion!"
"These guys literally have it allllllll.... Shrimp/Tuna/Chicken Sandwiches, Cakes: Mocha, Tiramisu, Vsnilla, Mozart Chocolate, Red Velvet, Oreo Fresh Cream, Stawberry Shortcake, Macaroons: in all da flavas and they'll even do a macaroon gift box! Cheesecake: Yogurt, Oreo, Tarts, and Mousses: Strawberry, Mango, Raspberry Mango, Blueberry Cream. The dry section has even more goodies... melon bread, chocolate bread, meat filled bread, and just all the breads, muffins, more cakes like pound and sponge varieties, almond tuile, rolls, cookies, croissants...What I keep getting? A large peach pineapple smoothie *drools* and I recently cheated on my diet and got a sausage croquette. Pretty sure they sprinkle this amazing dust on top with a nice scribble of ketchup on top. It's really really really good! The muffins I believe were regular sponge and when I say they were magnificent. Super moist and buttery, awesome snack! Milk Tea was good. If you prefer sweet boba and good flavored milk, you'd like this. I like them both sweet but this was still very smooth and I'd order again (if I can stop with the smoothies)!Only thing I was not a fan of is the cheesecake. Definitely needs some work. It was extremely crumbly from the filling to the crust and just lacked a good general cheesecake flavor."
"Great food every time! Food is fresh and delicious. Recommend the lasagna, rigatoni allá vodka, and the napoleon's"
"Been coming here for a while, and always have a good experience. The staff are friendly and the baked goods are delicious. The gal that helped me wore a mask and gloves, and there was a plastic divider up to keep things contactless. I always enjoy seeing this.I ordered a Rose Milk Tea, which they advertised on their door as their newest milk tea flavor. I'm not shre what she gave me, but it didn't taste of rose. It tasted like a lot of sugar and milk tea. I personally like a strong rose flavor, but I couldn't even taste it in this milk tea. I was a little disappointed, but everything else that I usually get here is great! I love their garlic bread bites that are in the pre-packaged baked goods! They're sweet and garlicy and delicious. I also love their Milk Snow. Its so sweet and the red bean and peanuts are delicious with it!I'll always come back and keep munching on all the goodies they have to offer here!"
"I am so in love with this place. All homemade breakfast items and all the pastries and desserts you can dream about. I'm glad this place is on way home from White Rock Lake so that means I got a workout in before inhaling the carbs (usually). It's an order at the counter place. You will have time to stare at all the delicious treats before making your order. There's not a lot of seating inside but I hand never seen anyone waiting to sit. The big table in the middle of the roomIs communal. I always order my stuff to go. Yummy coffee, pastries, quiches, salads to go (the have a cooler with grab and go items). What more could you ask for?!"
