Bull's Pen Cafe

Beware of ever trying to bring a large group to this establishment. Owner is not accommodating and rather recommended our party of ~30 or so to have our breakfast at Martinez Restaurant down the road. For the past 3 Saturdays we have been coming here for breakfast, we have enjoyed the service and food, it's been remotely smooth, and that's with one server, who has done an excellent job. However, today the owner came by and told our group that his usual customers have complained of the fact that their normal seating is thrown off. Because of this minor inconvenience, the owner has steered away a large customer base, and what any restaurant would see as large profit for the weekend. So sad, that the owner did not consider our group at all.

I had such a wonderful experience here today. Our waiter Raul recommended a few items that were his favorites, so my sister and I ordered from them. I ordered beef fajitas which Raul suggested. They were amazing, cooked perfectly tender with homemade flour tortillas. Everything including the tortillas and guacamole. My sister ordered the chicken fried steak and ate it all and she is pretty picky . Thank you to Raul and the cooks for making a hard day turn around time a better day

Laura is the best server. We've had Chicken fried chicken, the burger, the steak and eggs, grilled chicken sandwich. Almost everything on the menu. Always great.

Good food, good service, nice casual atmosphere. We love going there for breakfast, but lunch is good too. Mary's Omelette is always my go-to, but they serve up a mean biscuit too!

Great for a leisurely breakfast, great service, very clean. Keep in mind they're closed Sunday. Everything I've tried so far is good, very satisfactory place to go.

Great food every time I go. Sometimes the service is slow when there busy but it's worth the wait

This is a racist establishment. My church group went here for breakfast after morning prayer and were told our group of 20 was too big and was "bothering the white people". They ask us to go to their other location in mesquite next time called "Martinez" since our group was Hispanic. Their food was not good enough to spark any interest either way. If you are a big group and not white I do not recommend this location hoping you do not have a bad racist experience.

A great place for brunch, with a good service. The place is pretty cool, love those bull's/cow decor. Food is good, got the chicken fried steak with toasted bread on the side. It comes with 2 eggs too. A place to try if you are in the area

I love eating at the cafe when I travel to Mesquite. Such a great atmosphere and the rolls are always hot and delicious. Large variety of menu items, you can't go wrong here.

Food wasn't hot. Green beans were barely warm ....asked waitress for hot sweet potatoes to bring me some more out they were cold. Food was not the usual and the waitress seem like she wasn't having a good day.Never asked us if everything was Ok or did we need anything elseI've been here many times and never had the lack of service or the food not to be hot and piping good.
