Even in the winter, when the trees are bare and all is brown, this is a beautiful spot to walk. I can't wait to return in the Spring.I'm pretty terrible at reading trail maps, but I believe we took the Bluebird trail and followed the signs to Grapevine Lake. The trail leads you right down to the water, where there is a nice little shore to throw rocks and splash around in. Someone even hung a tree swing a few hundred feet up from the lake. So fun! I can't speak for all the trails, but this particular trail was not entirely stroller friendly. I have a pretty nice jogger and a strong man to push it, so we did ok on the trail to Grapevine Lake, but the trail is very narrow in parts and most strollers will be too wide. You need one that is pretty much built for off-roading. The nature center might have a bathroom inside, but all I saw was a porta potty behind a privacy wall. Now is the time to get out and enjoy some outdoor exercise. The weather is crisp and nature is calling. Make your way to Bob Jones Nature Center and take advantage of the beautiful trails and gorgeous lake views.

No pets allowed. Has nice long trails. Not paved. Some a little bit over grown and easy to get lost on. Has small signs you have to search for. You can tell some of the trails have horses coming through. Entrance is a little hard to spot, drove by it and had to u turn. Overall pretty nice and easy.

Bob Jones Nature Center is a great place to visit! I did some teen court service hours here (to get out of a ticket) and ended up doing more for National Honor Society after. I haven't been back in a while as an adult but this is a great place to take the kids to explore nature and they have events. Wish I could bring my dog but I understand why they don't allow dogs or horses. I'm hoping to take a trip out there soon!

Wonderful, quiet area with many trails. Quite relaxing and the trails are family friendly, although it is sandy so not stroller friendly. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nature escape in the city.

my boy has done summer camp each year here. It is the only camp that when it finishes he asks to go the following week. The staff are incredible and home from home care. Pack them of with a lunch box, hat, suntan cream and mosquito sprayed and they come back giggling , grubby and tanned lol. They get beads for reward of good behavior, asking questions, moving over on a bench to let a friend in. I reccomend to all, three of my childs friends went to same camp and I'll do same next year. Thanks a million

This is a great place for adults and children! They great you at the door like an old friend. They remember the names of the children that walk th the door. My son has taken classes here and had his birthday party here. From the first day, my son (2 at the time) felt totally comfortable here. He looks forward to "nature school" once a week. The summer programs are fantastic too. They teach the children all about nature and the animals in it. They go on age appropriate hikes and still do crafts, etc. They have lots of great programs for all interests. And Id bet that if you were interested in a program that they didn't have, you could ask about them having that type of program! They have master gardeners, photography workshops, guided hikes to learn about plants, etc. There are all kinds of events that Im not as familiar with, but seen on the calendar. As stated by others many times, this place is a hidden gem! Its tucked away on the north end of Southlake off of White Chapel Road.

If you have a little one consider the preschool and home school classes offered here. I wasn't sure what to expect, but forest preschool was recommended to us by a friend. I'm not outdoorsy and wasn't sure my son was either. However, after just 2 classes my son is in love! We've increased the number of days a week we attend and he is loving it! I love that he can explore new things that i wouldn't have otherwise exposed him to. The teacher and director are amazing! They know all the children and provide individual attention with low student to teacher ratios.
