As a self proclaimed foodie, I do not expect any restaurant to meet my expectations, but this crown jewel far exceeded them. If I told you three-3 visits in one week, would that convince you?For over three decades, Blue Mesa Grill has been a cornerstone of the culinary scene, and it's easy to understand why. Since opening its doors in 1988, this vibrant restaurant has distinguished itself with Southwestern flair and an artisan approach to cooking, crafting every dish from scratch using only the freshest ingredients. The result is a dining experience that is not only delicious but also reflects a deep passion for good food and high standards.I chose the flag shift location in far North Plano at the bustling corner of Dallas Parkway and 121, Blue Mesa Grill offers a spacious setting that accommodates a variety of dining preferences. With ample patio seating, a lively bar area, and a comfortable interior, it's the perfect spot for everything from casual dinners to special celebrations. The restaurant also features private rooms ideal for corporate events, weddings, and other gatherings, complemented by an extensive catering department. One of the highlights of the menu is the frozen blue margarita, a refreshing and vibrant drink that has become a signature offering. It pairs beautifully with their famous and superb fajitas, where diners can choose from chicken, steak, shrimp, a combo, or even a veggie option. Each serving comes with coconut lime rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and jalapeño relish, creating a fiesta of flavors that is hard to resist. For enchilada enthusiasts, Blue Mesa Grill is a true paradise. The specialty enchiladas are a feast for the senses, with options like Blue Crab & Shrimp, Brisket, Goat Cheese-Spinach, and Sour Cream Chicken with chipotle cream sauce. Each dish is served with coconut lime rice, corncake, and a choice of beans, making it a satisfying and flavorful meal. The Spinach Mushroom Enchiladas and the Chile Relleno-Enchilada Combo are also must-tries, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to variety and quality. If you're in the mood for something a bit different, the signature dishes are equally enticing. The Seafood Mixed Grill, featuring grilled rojo shrimp, red chile salmon, and a blue crab & shrimp enchilada, is a standout, while the Churrascaritas offers a delightful assortment of skewers of jumbo shrimp, smoked pepper sausage, chimichurri steak, and ginger-chipotle chicken, served with messa panna bread and Chimayo corn. If Carne Asada is a must for you, then don't miss this signature dish comprised of choice skirt steak with chimichurri and crispy fried onions, black bean adobe pie and grilled veggies. No meal at Blue Mesa is complete without indulging in their astonishing dessert choices. The chocolate empanadas, sopapilla cheesecake, and the trio of mini tres flans (honey, cheesecake, and seasonal) are the perfect sweet finish to an already exceptional dining experience. Now, saving the best news for last is the award winning and every so famous weekend Mimosa Brunch. They offer a Saturday brunch between 10am to 3pm in Addison and Plano and a Sunday brunch between 9am to 4pm at all locations. For only $28 per person, $12 for kids ages 6 to 11 and ages 5 and younger for free, you will experience such an incredible value and pairing that is second to none (Desserts, Mimosa and all other non-alcoholic beverages are inclusive). The restaurant is always packed for the brunches and you will know why once you go.Blue Mesa's longevity in the restaurant industry is a testament to their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. It's clear that they are doing something right, and each visit only reinforces that belief. With additional locations in Addison and downtown Fort Worth, this beloved establishment continues to delight diners across the region.Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, Blue Mesa promises a memorable meal filled with flavor, warmth, and a genuine passion for good food. Don't miss out on this culinary treasure!

I recently attended a birthday party at Blue Mesa Grill in Plano, hosted in their private dining room, and I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a celebration. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the evening ran smoothly--attentive, friendly, and always available without being intrusive. The food was absolutely amazing, with vibrant flavors and generous portions that left everyone at the party raving. From the fresh guacamole to the perfectly seasoned entrées, every dish was a hit. The private dining room added a nice touch of intimacy while still capturing the lively energy of the restaurant. If you're looking for a great spot for a group gathering or simply an excellent dining experience, Blue Mesa Grill in Plano is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

We have been to this establishment a few times over the years - always for their Sunday brunch. The selection here for that is really, really good. You can have traditional breakfast or lunch items all served up with Mexican and Tex-Mex flair. They have chicken and waffles, an omelet station, salsa bar, taco bar, enchiladas - you name it. AYCE with up to 3 mimosas included - yes, please! My favorite items from the brunch selection include the blue corn enchiladas, salmon, grilled mushrooms (for tacos), and the avocado salsa. You really can't go wrong with any items from the brunch stations. Get here early to enjoy the items at their freshest and before the place fills up.The staff here is friendly and out to make sure you enjoy your experience here. The restaurant is always clean, and the vibe here is festive.

WOW! Last time here was years ago before I started writing reviews on Yelp. And they did not disappoint. This was our backup supper out location as the first one was too busy again for use of gift coupon from relatives. I got a signature meal while SHE who cashes my retirement check opted for choose two to make a meal. Both were great. Timing was everything as our order got stuck behind 50 take out orders in kitchen. Bummer. But the Blue Margaritas helped pass the time. Plenty of food for both so we got lots for leftovers.

Haven't made it in for a while- but glad we did finally get to today!! Zee took great care of us.We got seated immediately and they offer happy hour in the restaurant (not just the bar)Most places limit HH pricing to bar area - not only did they have great drink prices but food too!!We took advantage of 2.50 tacos before 6pm and also a sampler plate. It was more than enough- even got some yummy chips and salsa to go!Generous portions, great attentive staff and reasonable prices - add it to the love list Looks like the have a weekend brunch I'll have to come check out too

Came here during brunch cinco de mayo. Staff was as super friendly but completely inundated. The food was good, but come with an ample amount of patience. It was busy and loud.

Came to about Mesa Grill after walking around the area. It's great to walk around here, kinda wish Blue Mesa Grill had finished our night strong but it didn't. I ordered a 2 taco combo that came with rice and beans. The tacos are very average so don't expect much here. Honestly the best thing here might be their salsas. Blue Mesa Grill is a place to come to if all the other restaurants are packed but definitely not a place I would recommend.

I've been wanting to come here for the longest time and we finally made it happen. They have a decent selection of traditional breakfast items, both American and Mexican, along with some popular Mexican dishes like taco, and enchiladas (among others). My favorites were the sweet corn cakes, taco's (the taco bar with the toppings was amazing), chilaquiles, chips and salsa bar, the garlic chicken wings, and the waffles. Lots of variety to choose from, including a make your own omelet station. Our server was friendly and cleared our used plates quickly. They do get busy so I do recommend a reservation. The way the tables are arranged can be a bit tight depending on where you are sitting. I can definitely see myself returning with my family.

This is the best brunch buffet in the area! I wish I could have taken more pics, but it was so busy and I was in the way, haha. They have meats, traditional Mexican breakfast items, rice, beans, waffles, potatoes, and so much more! The service is fantastic and the buffet includes three mimosas per guest of age- all for $28 a person. It is a little loud in the restaurant but that was so easy for me to look past since the food is amazing. Highly recommend this place, but get there early because it's gets busy.

I recently visited Blue Mesa for a birthday brunch and, judging by the number of other birthday celebrants, it's a popular spot for special occasions. Unfortunately, despite having made a reservation, we still had to wait 45 minutes past our reserve time to be seated, and this was after arriving 15 minutes early. The seating situation was less than ideal, with the space feeling cramped, and overcrowded. If you're not a fan of big crowds, I would suggest going after 1 PM when it starts to clear out a bit. The brunch buffet offered a wide variety of options, but everything was just OK. The tacos, waffles, and prepared dishes were nothing to write home about. I did not try the omelette bar, which might have been a missed opportunity. The highlight of the meal was the flan; everything else was merely satisfactory. The mimosas came in a few flavors - orange, pineapple, and cranberry - but like the rest of the brunch, they were just OK. Service was decent but be aware that they automatically add gratuity around 18 to 20%. Despite Blue Mesa's reputation as one of the best brunch spots around, my experience was underwhelming. It was crowded and the food while plentiful, lacked any stand out dishes. Overall, it was OK experience but not one that I'd be eager to repeat .
