While exploring the Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts district, we saw a TINY Italian place on the corner called Abruzzo's. I tried to bookmark it on Yelp, but couldn't find it. Come to find out - this place is actually the "Bishop Arts Winery," and only opened up a restaurant a couple months ago! We arrived at 7, and we were the only guests there for an hour as the musician set up to play. By the time 8:15 rolled around, the music was in full swing and the 7-10 tables were all occupied by old couples, groups of friends, and even a family with 3 young kids! Although the space itself is small, it wasn't claustrophobic at all - it was homey and nice. Not too loud either. The ambience was very romantic; I loved the interior decorations that made it feel like little Italy and home all at the same time. Now for food - they bring out hot, Parmesan dusted bread as you order and wait for your food...mmmmm. We got the BAW Cabernet Sauvignon by the bottle (24.99) and she let us know that it would be $8 per glass, so it's a bit cheaper to go for the bottle. We had heard good things about the cheese board, so we got a small. Perfect appetizer: at least 6 different tastes of cheeses, salami, different spreads and jams and crackers. Loved it, perfect for 2 people. Our waitress also inspired us to get this fried artichoke/crab meat ball...sounds weird but it was SO GOOD!!!!! Show stealer for sure.I got the classic spaghetti marinara, and Trip got the Bolognese lasagna. Both were impeccable, we are every bite - and the portions were generous but not excessive! Our service was awesome - it felt like they had at least 3 people circulating the small room to make sure everyone was taken care of. Wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!!!

I enjoyed the live music which was a welcomed surprise. The food wasn't to my liking. I made the incorrect assumption that I would be eating fresh pasta because the sign said real or authentic Italian pasta. It tasted like dry past and you can choose a meat sauce, meatless sauce or meat ball. I would go back and try out one of the specials. I just wished that the specials would have accompanied the menu and not written on a small chalk board that I only saw as I exited the venue.

Go pay Annette a visit! She was lovely to us on a Sunday afternoon. $12 flights, spicy reds and crisp white wines on deck. I loved my apple chardonnay and they have frozen sangria (mango or blackberry) for $3. Perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day! The cheese plate was shaped like Texas! Everything from start to finish was yummy and they have plenty of tables with a jukebox they are cranking up soon. Live music on the weekends and they are open til midnight. Come check it out!

Bishop Arts Wine Shop sells and offers tastes of wines from all corners of the Lone Star state. The wine styles include white and red wines. Some are bone dry while others are full of residual sugar or "legs". There is a breakfast menu available Wednesday to Sunday. The shop itself feels like a rustic wine tasting room right out of Santa Ynez, a small coastal enclave of the Santa Barbara area of California. With Rhone and very popular grape varietals, this winery has vino for every palate. Bring some friends or go solo. Either way, you will have fun with the inviting staff and flirtatious owner. Salut.

What a cool place! They have food now so you should check it out for some brunch! They have a tasting option for 8 bucks and bottles for purchase. They have coffee (regular joe) and lattes (fancy joe) with soy milk even! WOWDon't be freaked out by the male mannequin at the counter... it's creepy, then funny! I love the inside of this place with it's historical feel and the barrel bathroom sink is ridiculous! You'll want one too! We went for coffee this time but I'll be back to do the tasting options!

The owner is very welcoming and inviting. Today was the first time open and we happened to find it. All local Texas wines and a trolley for sightseeing fun. It invites a return.

Was a little disappointed when we arrived. According to Yelp reviews, this was a winery for wine tastings. When we arrived, we were told they didn't do that anymore. We did each have a glass of wine, and I bought a couple to bring home. We had eaten earlier, as for weeks i had been so excited about this being a wine tasting.

This is a place that can be easily missed, looked over & passed by. Don't be that person, stop here & enjoy some good food, good wine & service. It's a small little restaurant/winery, in an oddly shaped building, on the corner of Tyler & Davis, very inconspicuous. We originally only came here for the wine but ended up getting some food. The food was very tasty especially the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, I'd recommend that dish hands down. It's served with some miniature garlic "Texas Toast", (shaped like the frozen kind you buy @ HEB LOL) but fresh & compliments the meal perfectly. I'm positive I could have eaten the whole basket. On to the wine, the reason for stopping here. Evidently it's been known as a winery for 5-6yrs & only recently added the restaurant portion. I'm so glad they did, I left here with one bottle but could have easily bought more. I like semi-sweet to sweet wines & they have several to choose from. I opted for the Green Apple Wine & the Blackberry, both highly recommended. I know for SURE I'll be back, when I'm in town. They were sold out of the Peach, which made me sad because that's the one I REALLY wanted to try. Everyone here was friendly, from the waiter to the owners who came by letting us know of the new stuff coming. I'm really exited to come by in the following months to try the slush machine! I can't wait!! Stop reading the review & head to Bishop Arts Winery!! Con: parking is very limited, I can't imagine finding parking on a busy night. They have a small menu, which is fine to me especially if they've perfected those few items.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The atmosphere is cute, quaint and eclectic. The owner is a sweet man that makes all of the house wine himself. The Merlot is divine and the sparkling peach was unbelievable. We happen to come in during happy hour and there was a ton of free food (hot wings, corn fritters, sliders, etc.) I recommend this place to anyone who is coming to the Bishop Arts District. Overall, A+++++
