We have loved this spot for many years! Such a great staple on Grapevine lake. The new owners have done a beautiful job with remodeling the inside and the patio area. They have a huge screen on the patio now and a stage area for live music. The patio sits right on the water so the view is amazing! We had a party of 5 between us all we had burgers and fries, chicken quesadillas and the sampler. Everything was amazing and we would order everything again. Our server was Jake and he was top notch, very attentive and kind! We had a birthday at the table and they even have personal mini cakes that are so cute! Thank you for a beautiful evening! We can't wait to return!

In a word "AMAZING"! We've been on the lake for 10 years now and have enjoyed the "old" Big Daddy's, but the new elevated Big Daddy's Cantina is fabulous. Comfortable seating with music ... how can one complain? The staff are doing great and are very attentive. Super fast delivery of food and drinks ... and they give great care for our fur babies ... water without even asking. My husband has to have his bacon wrapped shrimp which is devine. Best queso on the lake ... not the fake stuff you sometimes get in town. Drinks are so tasty and the staff doesn't even bat an eye for my substitution We ordered the beef street tacos ... nice flavor and everything comes out nice and hot.Oh ... don't have a boat ... no worries ... drive on over to Scott's Marina there is ample parking. See you on the lake soon

We have always wanted to try Big Daddy's but I wished we hadn't tonight. The restaurant sits on a dock on Lake Grapevine. It has nice patio furniture and large mister fans for the hot weather. They also have live music often as they did tonight. Their waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Those are the things that give this two stars. The food was terrible. I ordered the taco salad with fajita chicken. The menu said it was mixed greens with chopped tomato, onion, black beans, corn and cucumbers in a taco shell bowl. You can add a protein of choice for an extra cost. I chose chicken. I received a taco shell bowl of iceberg lettuce with fajita chicken on top and chipotle dressing. I asked the waitress about it and she went to check. She came back with some black beans and a small container of salsa and said she was sorry but the kitchen was out of the other things. My husband got the street tacos. They were meat with some cilantro and a small container of green salsa and that was it. They were luke warm. We also had a beer each which also were not cold but barely cool. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in Grapevine in a long time. Needless to say we won't be back.

Had the shirmp & a fajita bowl. Salsa/chips/quesoCool location. Hard to beat viewed on the water of Grapevine lake. Salsas were really nice. Queso was great. Shrimp was a little smallish and underwhelming in the plate/presentation... largely a tiny mount of corn pico with one skewer of 6 shrimp on top, on a styrofoam plate. But at 14 bucks, in this time of inflation, I guess that's a bargain? It tasted great though so I highly recommend. I'd encourage the owners to do something/anything to jazz the plate up, even its just 25 cents of white rice The bowl was spot on. Fajita beef was solid. Would be a nice add if they had draft beer and an even nicer add if it was one of the locals We'll go back. It's a nice option locally and the bad reviews below are unwarranted

Not sure why the bad reviews. Our experience was good. They sell beer/liquor now. I only had can beer. Food had pork street tacos. They were great. Meat was well maintained. Beef and chicken quesadillas. We preferred the beef but chicken was good. I will be back.

Went with freinds for dinner but mostly because there was going to be live music. The venue is right on Lake Grapevine at Scott's Landing Marina. The atmosphere is good and they have serious misters for the heat but..... the food was not great at all. Our whole group agreed. We had fajitas, fajita bowl, wrapped shrimp and steak tacos. Nobody enjoyed their food. Then there was the beer. 3 of us drank Ultra and they were cool but not cold. They claimed they came from a fridge but the fridge must be broken. The other two had Coors Lite and Miller Lite and theirs was cold. As for the service, our guy was very attentive so I have no problems with him. The band was great and that is what kept us there. I do not recommend this place. I can see people stopping in after they get off the lake. Not good.

Food was cheap type bar food, not really Mexican as the name portray. The Queso is velveta and that is it, no spices and was thick, bland. Tacos were ok. Margarita was good but over priced. I love a good patio, but the employees were moving tables around and washing the deck as we were sitting there- Friday lunchtime in the summer.

My husband and I went here for beer and something to eat. I specifically asked the waiter what time do you close?. .. his reply was 9 pm... we ordered nachos, cheese sticks and beer, at 7:35. Our food arrived without the beer at 7:50, we reminded him of the beer . At 8:02 the waiter brought the bill, at 8:06 the tv shut off and waitstaff was leaving. At 8:20 the music shut off. Really?! We did not order food until checking the closing time. Apparently they closed at 8 pm..! We would never have ordered food if we had been told they were closing in 25 minutes! We were lied to. When I approached the "managers " I was told the waitstaff was young and they would talk to them... How about some honesty!
