We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch--parking is easy in the garage around the corner, so off to a great start. But then we walked in... and were greeted by a faint, but very unfortunate odor. Not overpowering, but definitely lingering--like a bathroom situation gone mildly wrong. My favorite bar used to have this smell, and it turned out to be the pipes. And yeah, pipes are a pain to fix... but no one wants to eat while catching whiffs of mystery funk.We sat at the bar (no purse hooks, missed opportunity there), and I quickly realized I'd been to another location of this spot before. Hubbs and I split the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese & burnt ends - a real winner!! Also we split a brisket sandwich with sausage, subbing loaded potatoes for fries. The sandwich and the potatoes were flavorful but the bun on the sandwich was cold like it came out of the fridge, and the potatoes could definitely have been hotter (they were slightly warm, but definitely not hot). Unfortunately, I'm just not the kind of gal who sends things back to the kitchen either, sooo...The real highlight? Denise, our awesome bartender. She was sweet, attentive, and had all the best recommendations. The locals clearly love her--she knew their orders before they even sat down. When we mentioned the smell, she claimed she didn't notice it but said it's likely the pipes and would pass it along to the owner. So here's the deal: the food is solid, the service is stellar... but dear owner, we know you know about this issue. Please, for the love of burnt ends and loaded potatoes, fix the pipes

Solid place tucked inside downtown Carrollton. We were going to twisted root but saw this across the street and decided to visit here instead. Here's what we ordered:- quesabiria tacos: fantastic. Would order again. - Smoked wings: Would highly recommend the Buffalo flavor. I've been trying to find good smoked wings ever since our trip to Vegas, and while this isn't the best, it is very good. - prime rib: we got the chopped moist. It was good. - buffalo cauliflower: Also very delicious. Would undoubtedly visit again.

Had a birthday celebration for my spouse here on a Saturday night. We were helped by their awesome manager who gave great service and was very patient with our group. All the food came out correctly and cocktails were delicious with a variety on all day happy hour. The place has a variety of bbq and a bourbon-focused drink menu. It was surprisingly not very busy on a Saturday night and we'd be here far more often if we lived closer. Give them a try!

Stopped by here with a friend after hanging out nearby and it was one of the few places in the area, with food after 9 pm. It seems to be a place for locals and those wanting to watch sports would probably like it on a game day. However this night the service was okay, we sat at the bar. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my friend got the Almost Cuban. He seemed to have liked his sandwich, or he was just hungry lol. As for me, I enjoyed my sandwich I forgot to take a pic of it, but it had a big piece of chicken on it so definitely didn't skimp there. Additionally the sauce was interesting it wasn't your typical hot chicken buffalo sauce type. It was a bbq sauce with just the right amount of spice on it. I'd definitely get it again if I came back.

Absolutely love this place. The servings are large, staff is friendly and restaurant is very clean. I've tried the slice brisket, pastrami and turkey and they're all cooked very well - very juicy and full of flavor. For BBQ fans, turkey is hard to impress- but this place has amazing turkey. Their wings were a bit too chewy. I got the Nashville hot flavor & there wasn't a bit of spice, but the smoke flavor in the wings made up for it. The sides are a little basic : the elote had too much mayo & my kids didn't care for the mac&cheese. Overall the meat by the pound is very impressive and I'd keep going back for that.

BCB is always looking for new beers to try, used the Untappd app to find this one at barrel & bones. The bar was nice & spacious. The beer options were limited that night but they had the one I specifically came for. The bartender was cool and the other patrons were very friendly. Great neighborhood spot.

Came here for lunch and tried the 2 meat plate with a side (Lean Brisket, Sausage, and Mac And Cheese ~$20). The BBQ was a bit of a mixed bag with a thicker part of the brisket being dry with no consistent smoke ring present but the sausage I thought was actually really good. The mac came out a bit cold but sides aren't really why I eat bbq anyway so I don't think it really impacted my overall impression. I think I'd be more likely to order something from their extended menu like a bbq baked potato vs a more traditional bbq plate in the future though.I also had an old fashioned (~$12) and It was a damn good one. The bartender Ryan not only mixed up a great drink but offered really attentive service considering he was taking care of the entire bar area -- tables and all. Good service definitely bumped the score up here. He let me know that after 3pm Monday and Friday they do happy hour where that same old fashioned would be $5.Barrel and Bones isn't going to replace my favorite bbq places most likely, but it seems like it has a pretty good shot at being a 5 star happy hour spot. Interested in returning to try that out for sure.

Let me start this review by saying, that Lexi is amazing!!!!!! Best customer service ever!!!!!! She deserves a raise. This place has $10 bottomless mimosa's!!!!! More importantly, the champagne and juice are separate, which is just how I like it so that I can prepare the mimosa to my liking. 98% champagne and 2% juice. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese with the loaded baked potato salad. The brisket was tender and very flavorful and the salad did not disappoint. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping here for a bottomless mimosa brunch.

I stopped by on Sunday, December 1, around 4:30 PM.When we walked in, the employees at the bar told us we could sit wherever we wanted. Things started off great. I've worked at a neighborhood restaurant/bar with similar vibes, so I get the relaxed service style. Our server (Latina with curly-ish hair) came over quickly, got us waters, my beer, and took our appetizer order. We got Texas Twinkies, fried green tomatoes, mac and cheese, and truffle fries. After that, she went over to the bar, sat down, and started chatting with what I assume was the MOD.Everything came out except the truffle fries, which she must've forgotten. Once we finished the apps and my beer, we sat at the table for a while, waiting. No one came by to check if the food was okay, refill our waters, or ask if I wanted another beer. We tried to flag someone down, but no one noticed us.Finally, I got up and approached our server, who was still sitting at the bar. She just looked at me and then back down. Another server (white girl, brunette) said she'd be with us.We ordered brisket, ribs, burnt ends, and the missing truffle fries. The MOD delivered the food, but the experience went downhill from there. The brisket was great--soft, juicy, and flavorful. But the pork belly burnt ends were tough and not juicy at all, though they were seasoned well. The ribs were by far the worst. They tasted like they'd been made the day before and just reheated--dry and disappointing. To make things worse, I'm pretty sure our first server left around 5 PM when the shift changed, but no one told us or mentioned a handoff. The second server also left without saying anything--I saw her grab her jacket, say "bye guys" to the staff, and walk out. At that point, we had no idea who was taking care of us.After the disappointing meal, I had to get up again, this time to ask the new bartender (white girl, blonde) for a to-go box and the check. I boxed up the food myself, paid out with the MOD, and asked for a military discount, which he graciously gave.I felt bad only tipping about 10%, but I didn't even know who our server was for most of the meal. There was no communication, and honestly, the service was almost nonexistent. Before leaving, I asked the MOD if he had a business card or email for the GM, but he said he didn't. He asked if everything was okay, but I just said yes and left--I figured this should be handled at a higher level.I'm not expecting fine dining or fancy service--it's not that kind of place, and that's okay. I just wanted someone to check on us, communicate if they had to leave, and hand us off to someone else. And food that isn't dry.
