I found BA&S via my co-workers from Mexico City, who are always looking for authentic Central & Southern Mexican cuisine in the area.I was brought here for lunch, especially for the lamb barbacoa. BA&S is a clean and basic restaurant. The interior is large and spacious with several large tables and a few smaller ones. There's music playing in the background. The gentleman waiting tables was very attentive even though he was the only one waiting tables. My co-worker ordered for the table; barbacoa and chicken flautas. The barbacoa comes with a consommé and several salsas and bean dip. The consommé was rich and flavorful, and the lamb was moist and tender. Their home-made tortillas are fantastic. The chicken flauta also was very tender, moist, and crispy with some great flavors.A tremendously flavorful meal and inexpensive. The barbacoa fed four, and everyone got a flauta. We are already talking about when we can come back.

While visiting Dallas I found Barbacoa Agave, I had some of the barbacoa tacos (borrego) and they were pretty good for not being the original lamb barbacoa- sauces were good - I would suggest they post their hours as they are open Mon-Thurs until 5pm, Fri-Sun late. Staff is friendly and attentive.

I would say Barbacoa Agave & Seafood is worth a try when you're in the Oaklawn area. They've got several options to choose from on the menu and it's moderately priced. I visited this location for lunch with a five dollar Restaurant.com voucher and had a delicious burrito and tried a barbacoa taco which was very good. Unfortunately they didn't have the cactus salad. I tried one of the churros but can't say I was particularly impressed compared to those I have had in Mexico and other Dallas area restaurants. Like I said before they've got a wonderful menu and I look forward to trying out other items soon. They've even got a small selection of Mexican sweets.

The Barbacoa was the best I've ever had. When going for the first time do yourself a favor and just get the Barbacoa plate. 4 stars because they don't have fountain drinks. But other than that everything was really good....

This place is good! The place itself may be simple, with music blaring to some extent (although not loud enough that you can't comfortably talk to and hear each other), but the food is pretty delicious and inexpensive! We came here for lunch and directly sat down and ordered. The lunch specials are really cheap (on average $6.99): i got the chicken burrito platter (see picture) and it was delicious, and came with rice and beans as well as small "salad" on the side. My friends got the half pound of lamb barbacoa (which comes out in this huge platter that keeps it moist and hot while you dole out portions to eat) and the steak fajita platter (which was a bit on the small side, meat-wise), which they both liked a lot. At the end, we all felt satisfied and full but not having over-eaten, or over-spent for that matter. We got some churros to go, chocolate and strawberry ones, and they were pretty tasty, especially with some coffee on the side (we got coffee at work and at there, YUM)!Good place to grab lunch if you're at work, a satisfying, tasty meal that doesn't break the bank!

Closed as of today, looked like a car ran through the building. Not sure if permanent.

Good food, great selections, tacos, tortas, gorditas, huaraches, entree platters and seafood: the kitchen is small so don't be in a rush.I truly enjoyed the Chicharron Huaraches (hint: they aren't crunchy). Man food.

WORST SERVICE EVER! I've given it two chances on a weekend and weekday, both failed. NEVER tasted the food because service was so bad. They need more staff. most stables were dirty to sit. I'm sure food is good but for sure service is not.
