Angelika Film Center & Café - Dallas

I've seen so many good & great movies here (& sometimes--rarely-- a dud). At times it seems I more often see things here that are not movies: theater, opera, ballet & other dance. I love the location (it's nice to be able to take the train or a bus sometimes), & the folks working here are always friendly & helpful. I haven't tried the food, but friends who have gave good reviews. Thank goodness Dallas has this cinema!

Great little theater with a different selection of movies. Tuesday 1/2 price tickets if a member. The cafe in lobby did not get to enjoy as the coffee bar had no milk for a latte.

So. I'm sorry but this place is NOT 4 stars. The seats are very old and many are broken. If you want food you have to go DOWNSTAIRS but if you want drinks and snacks you have to go UPSTAIRS? No thank you. The screen is TINY. Just a very old school theater that I guess I can't really appreciate old style theaters anymore. The large soda cup doesn't even fit in the cup holders. I can appreciate how friendly the staff was and parking was nice too! There's no service during the movie and the menu and both places are very limited.

I was so mixed with the reviews that Id read previously before taking the plunge to see how the theater was for myself. It wasn't hot in our theater #4, the service was great from everyone even people that weren't employees. I ran into a number of Beautiful Yelp Elites and we are now following and tagging each in our events. I'll definitely go back to grab another showing. Thanks again Yelp organization and the Promoters for allowing Yelp Elites to sit in on such a great event. My alarm is set for the series to start on Paramount + Network July 23, 2023 @ 9p.m. E/T or P/T. depending on what parts of the coasts you are on. Nice staff and was not too busy on a Friday night. The issue is that the chairs and arm rests are really old and need to be renovated / updated. The price of a ticket is the same as more modern updated theaters in the Dallas area, and so this would not be my first theater choice.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all my times watching movies at Angelina. It is a top-notch film watching venue with nice bar downstairs and snacks and bevs upstairs. Thank you for years of quality screening in the Big D!

Enjoyed movie here for convenience and covered parking - a must during August - September in DFW. So easy to park - free; along with preorder tickets or avoid the service fee - always seats available we've found by walking in. Become a member and get discounts on TUESDAY $5.00 movie and food items anytime. We like this smaller venue although realize it is dated, some seats in Theater 7 were 'worn and seemed small' but still you can move around some empty seats on our Friday visit. Sound and picture were good to enjoy. Popcorn is fresh and they offer refills on Icee - a must for my family to enjoy a movie.

I ended up here Thursday and Friday nights for different events but these were my first visits to this theater. I thought it was decently clean and well situated. The folks that work here were pretty nice and helpful. The food was all standard. I ordered popcorn, lemonade and peanut mms. The seat numbers are kind of confusing and hard to read, it's also hard to move out of the way when someone needs to get to their seat bc the seats dont fold up. Overall pleasant movie watching experience. I wish they had recliners but I'll still be back.Also we had a group but we all arrived separately. The tickets were all together so we weren't sure how that would work. The ticket guy just had me write everyone's name down so they could all get it and it was very smooth. Greatly appreciated!

For the high-end location and price of the tickets, this theater is out-dated and long overdue for renovations. The theater seats are extremely old with some having black tape on the arms. They don't recline and are narrow in comparison to modern theaters. I was surprised at the condition of the theater. The screen we were in (auditorium 3) had a line on it and light spots that were visible during lighter colored scenes. The sound was fine. It's time for a refresh for sure. Popcorn was tasty with extra butter to add after purchase. I agree with another reviewer, this location is not a 4 star theater sadly.

Lord, this place is so raggedy! My seat is squeaking and won't stop moving, the seats looks nasty, popcorn strewn about. No bueno. Upon walking in the theater looks nice, has an old school feel even. I could tell this used to be the spot back in the day, but upkeep has not been done. Is this a dollar theater? I don't know, but come with low expectations, smh. I won't be back
