Stopped by their store in the Farmers Market. I was on my way to the Airport and back to Las Vegas.I purchased some beautifull Lamb ribs and some very tasty jerky.He packed them with some cold blocks for travel. Awesome.Had a brisket sandwich at their burger bar and it was incredible...Impressive service and eye for great meats. Love this place!

Phillip! Thanks for being so helpful today and getting me some special beef from the back for my pot roast because it actually is the best I've ever made and I'm sure the meat has a lot to do with it! I also bought my first oxtails despite having enjoyed my chef gmas recipe my whole life, I shall try to do it justice! I will definitely be trying the bacon next time and can't wait to cook these oxtails! I love the Dallas farmers market and I'm looking forward to becoming a regular for sure! Cya next time!

You could probably count the number of places where real meat butchery is done in the DFW Metroplex on two hands. We have a new addition in American Butchers at the Dallas Farmer's Market. These folks know their way around meat. I grew up in the heart of Amish and Mennonite country in Kansas. Butchers and smokers of meat down through the years, you could always get quality cuts of meat and sausages from cattle that never saw a feed lot and pigs from optimal conditions.Years ago when I moved to Dallas, I found Rudolph's Meat Market in Deep Ellum right away to get cuts of meat for special occasions as well as Kuby's and other purveyors for quality meats. American Butchers is a collective of Nebraska ranching and farming families that is marketing their Artisan meat here at the Farmer's Market and I can tell you their meat is beautiful. Half and quarter cows are brought here to Dallas and can be butchered to your specifications; but what they have in their cases is wonderful. All of the meat looks perfect. They had cooked some samples of flank that were soooo tender. We bought some Jalapeño Cheddar Summer Sausage for $9.99/pound that was lean but delicious. You could see the diced Jalapeño in it and chunks of cheddar cheese. We also brought home a lean black pepper salami that was equally as good.We'll be back to shop some more. I was very impressed both with the meat and their professional and knowledgeable service.

This little gem is located within the the Farmers Market. They have some of the prettiest meats one can wish for. However they also have a variety of summer sausage and jerky. One this trip we bought the jalapeño & cheese summer sausage and I was eye balling the jerky in which the friendly little man insisted I try. This isn't the dried up jerky in a bag that you get from the store. This is flavorful and you can chew through it without tearing up your teeth. Items here are a little pricey however worth ever dime spent.

They sell sliced beef belly here. It's basically Beef Bacon and it's one of the most incredible things ever. This is not a place for thrifty or penny pinching shoppers. It's a place for those who are willing to pay for quality cuts of meat and it's well worth the price. Think of it as an investment in flavor that pays super tasty dividends.

Very comparable to non-chain stores such as Krogers, Tom Thumb, and Whole Foods.Food: 3 starsThey have beef, pork, and lamb. Cuts are very high quality and beat out chain stores as expected. It is amazing to meet and talk with people who are just passionate about what they are doing. Clearly the people who work at American Butchers are knowledgeable and love what they are doing. I was walking around the Dallas Farmers Market when I see a meat cooler filled with jerky. I immediately think of my dad and I know it would be a great souvenir from Texas. We were supplied with a ton of samples before and after purchasing. This is definitely not Walmart priced meat but you could taste the quality.

I went today to get a prime rib roast for Christmas dinner. I wanted a 4-5lb piece of meat. At over $100+, the piece had the plate meat still attacked. I asked to have the piece frenched and trimmed ready for cooking a prime rib. After taking it home and doing som research, i frenched and trimmed it myself, which the butcher wouldn't do for me. The plate (which is not part of a standard rib roast) weighed in at nearly 3lbs. $60 of wasted meat. I'm an experienced cook but this was my first time cooking or preparing a rib roast. While trying to support local businesses, one would hope that the butcher would advise and help rather than discount what the customer is asking for and then overcharging for meat you wouldn't serve. I can't begin to express how disappointed i am.

This place has the weirdest business model I have ever seen, rather then talk to me who was looking to buy, the guy behind the counter talked it up with someone else who didn't buy a thing.I saw 3 people walk away because the counter person was talking to a person with zero interest is buying anything.Wish I had a trust fund like that, unfortunately I have to work , and I waited 15 minutes then left to Whole Foods to buy some meat. I don't have the time or energy to beg people to take my money.I won't be back.
