We were in the area checking out homes and the wife found this place on Yelp. It's a very modest restaurant in terms of ambience and size, but it is clean. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you.We love Middle Eastern food so we were quite pleased that this restaurant exists in the middle of the Texas countryside. I am sure that the people of Murphy and Lucas do not consider themselves as country dwellers, but coming from Dallas, it is countryside. Not saying that is good or bad, just an observation. Anyway, the restaurant. We started with a side of hummus and it was very good. I like a bit less tahini and more garlic, but I am not complaining about this hummus. It came with pita bread. I wish it had been warm. I ordered the shish taouk (cubed chicken breast) and it was excellent. Chicken was tender and very flavorful. It came with rice, some pickles, and an olive dip that I never saw before but it was good too.The wife had the beef shawarma and it also was very flavorful. Beef was tender and good quality. Her's also came with rice. Both of our dishes were excellent and we both would order again.Service was very friendly. It's a family owned restaurant and you can tell that they really care. It was not terrible busy on a Saturday night so I hope they are successful. If I lived in Murphy or Lucas I would be here once a week for sure.

This is about as pretty classic Syrian food as you're going to get this side of Dallas, and that's thanks to the family that runs this place together. With a dad up front as the head chef, a mom in back locking things down and the son at the register in the classic spot, there's tradition at work.Service is fast and quality, with orders coming out consistently under 20 minutes and almost never with mistakes. They do take some time with each dish though so don't expect to be grabbing lunch in/out within 5 minutes during lunch rush.As for the food, they have certainly improved over the years, mellowing out the spices to the point where you can taste the juicy meat while still enjoying the wealth of flavor in each bites. Taking nods from other chefs, they have also started adorning each shawarma with its respective fat and giving it that iconic sear which actually does add a nice tart and smokey flavor.Enough said, come on down and enjoy some Syrian food in an unlikely locale. Highly recommend!

Their beef shawarma is really good and it has a unique taste! We all loved it. Chicken shawarma was not as good as beef and it was little bit dry! I wish if it's juicy or if they can add more of the garlic sauce to it! Service was amazing! I believe it's a family owned restaurant and they were so nice!

Alzarrad is an inviting sort of restaurant with a homey atmosphere and local, street food style. The only drawback for my experience here was that the drinks are not refillable, but nothing to repugn a lurking diner seeking easy comestibles. The employees are amicable and procure toothsome victuals in a quick manner. I would add here that the chicken tenders are a tad arid, be that as it may, anyone (me) who orders chicken tenders from a shawarma joint probably should've seen it coming. Speak of the shawarma and here it comes. The beef is delectable, as is the chicken, and unlike many other restaurants of this twig, some of the wraps have cheese in them. (I'm not sure if it's jibneh or akkawi, but it's delicious).

A true gem!We have been here multiple times with family and I simply love the food! It's freshly made in front of you and tastes amazing. My personal favorite is the Chicken Schwarma wrap. Fragrant and well seasoned with a balanced amount of garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickles that taste phenomenal, this one is sure to please. The Beef Gyro is delicious too. Tender beef roasted in house on the vertical spit is well accented with rice, tahini sauce, and pickles. Little spots like this make me happy, I hope this place continues to have all the success!

We've driven past this restaurant so many times and kept forgetting to stop by. Finally, we got the chance to dine in, and wow, what an experience! The inside is immaculate and beautifully clean. When we walked in, it was a peaceful haven with very little foot traffic. We ordered beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, hummus, baba ganoush, and some bread. My husband loved the beef shawarma so much he wanted to return the next day! Every dish was bursting with freshness and flavor. This place deserves to be packed because the food is just too good to miss. We will definitely be coming back again and again!
