This restaurant used to serve their tacos with two tacos, potatoes, and a salad. Now they serve you one taco with a completely different recipe.Yes the taco is bigger and the cost has lessened, but you are not getting the value that you got before regardless.Used to be able to come here and get a full meal for $12.99, not I'd have to order 3 things to be satisfied. Ultimately this was an incredibly disappointing experience and although I used to regularly order from this restaurant when in Dallas, I will not be doing so again.

Located inside the Dallas Farmers Market Food Hall, 8 Cloves caught my eyes with the most-friendly vegan/vegetarian menu. I ordered the vegan aloo gobi plate and samosas. I felt like the prices were a little bit too high but it made sense for the area.Love how thin and fresh the samosas were. The pastry was flakey and moist, and I enjoyed the spices inside the samosa. $8 for two pieces isn't too bad.The sauce of the aloo gobi plate was spicy and very flavorful. Perfect for the rice.

Always high quality ingredients, healthy and fresh. If you expect the traditional Americanized Indian food then you won't like this. This is authentic yet healthy. Food can taste good without being doused in oil.

The food is so delicious! I've noticed over time the portion is a lot smaller for the price, but again the food is delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere is nice located inside the farmers market. I recommend

Came to the Dallas farmers market and was happy to see an Indian food shop. I got the vegan roti taco entree with meat alternative, and it was good. The tacos were heavy with cilantro and tomatoes which didn't make me the biggest fan. The entree came with a side of potatoes covered in red peppers which was SO spicy. Overall my food was okay, but I would like to come back and try more when I'm able to.

I was unfamiliar with Indian food names and the menu didn't explain the dishes very well at all, we asked for clarification but when our food *finally* came out I had ordered a huge plate of meat which I hadn't expected at all since the menu didn't even list meat in my dish! It said eggs, potatoes and roti! Im vegetarian so I just ate the eggs, potatoes and roti off the top of the giant meat plate. We must have waited at least 20 minutes for a pretty simple order as well. It was good but they should list FULLY what's in each dish on the menu. The portions were really big if you're a big eater.

I went to this food stand, where the woman working the cash register was sitting at one of the tables meant for people dining. Not very professional, but understandable after a long shift on your feet. If this was the only red flag, I would still have been willing to give them 5 stars. However... the rest of my experience only went downhill from there.I asked the woman if I should order from her at the cash register, or from the tablet they have off to the side where you can also place your order, and she told me to do it myself on the tablet, so I did, and left a $1 tip for my $8 meal, despite that she didn't do anything.Food at these stands at the Dallas Farmers market usually comes out in 5 minutes or less- it's almost like a mall food court (just a bit nicer with better options). I came back to get my order maybe 10 minutes later, and she told me they didn't have any open orders and that they hadn't had any orders in the past 20 minutes. I reminded her when she told me to order from the tablet, and that I had done what she told me to, with her watching, but she insisted that I must not have completed the order because nothing came through.I was beginning to feel insulted at this point, because this woman (who could have just taken the order herself from the beginning) was acting like it was my fault, and as though I don't know how to use technology properly, because clearly I hadn't finished the order as it never came through to them. I insisted that it did, and she told me to show her my bank account to prove the transaction went through. What?!? Who does that!! At this point, I walked away. If she didn't have my order and was going to act that way to me, I would dispute the charge with my bank and just take my business elsewhere. My boyfriend stayed because she had something else to say- apparently, they had been having problems with orders going through placed from the tablet. Why did she tell me use the tablet if she knew the tablet ordertaking system was not working in the first place? It's not like she was busy doing side work or anything, considering she was just sitting there, twiddling her thumbs... she could've avoided the whole situation from the beginning, but was just being lazy.I did pull up my bank account just to check anyways, because I wanted to be sure I wasn't going crazy and that the order confirmation I had seen was real. Guess what? The charge was there. My boyfriend took my phone back to show her, and they made the food. I don't eat food that's been sent back or complained about before preparation, bc I prefer not to eat other people's spit, so I told him I wouldn't eat it either way, but he got it anyways.I received no apology from the woman, and she still got my tip, because whatever was wrong with their system, they did get my money. Asking to see someone's bank account, however, is so inappropriate in a hospitality situation, I can't even....What a disappointment. Then, when we finally left the food building and passed 8 Cloves on our way out, she was bending over the place where I think they have the napkins, cutlery and straws- eating! How disgusting and unsanitary! She might as well have eaten her food at the table she was sitting at when I first walked up, not bend over the place people collect their cutlery, but clearly she just doesn't understand customer service or hospitality (or general human decency). Not the staff I would hire for my restaurant...I don't have anything to say about the food because I never tasted it, but my boyfriend who got the order took a bite and did not finish it; I don't think he liked it or he would have saved it for leftovers but he threw it away before we walked out of the building. They need to get their technology corrected and their front staff replaced. I'm sure the people in the kitchen are fine, but I've never experienced someone as inhospitable, rude, condescending, and unsanitary as the young woman taking orders at 8 Cloves. Terrible.I do not recommend eating here ever, unless you like being insulted and want to share your finances with the cashier. Doesn't really matter how good or bad the food is, because that's not how eating out works. I shouldn't walk away starving and feeling insulted, when it was her lazy self that could have manually taken the order and didn't, even tho she knew the system wasn't working. In summation, highly NOT recommended. Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Ew. Just thinking about that experience makes me upset. The other places are great, this is not to speak about any of the other restaurants at the Dallas farmers market, just the Indian food place. Terrible.

8 Cloves inside Dallas Farmers Market has moved into a wider kiosk and might have expanded their kitchen. Higher are the menu prices from before. Long was the line this Saturday, happy I am for them. Extended wait for my "Lamb Vindaloo", still tasty, though not spicy as I expected from before.CHEERS!

Expensive and average flavor. We got the chicken tika masala and the sauce was not very flavorful and the portion was more like a 10 dollar man rather than the $20 we paid. Will never be back mostly because there are so many awesome delicious restaurants surrounding this area. Check your prices and work on the flavor profile.
