We were on the hunt for authentic gourmet fried chicken and ironically this place came up as a suggestion. Well after looking at a few video reviews, we went for it and Boy (pun intended) were we rewarded! Turned out to be some of the best fried chicken we've had in a while! We do plan on returning to try the Po' Boys, which looked delicious at other tables. The service was smooth and efficient and we appreciated the staff's assistance in explaining the menu and how everything worked. The decor was well thought out. We loved the way they captured the New Orleans vibrancy with a touch of Chicago's chutzpah! It was electric in there! Everyone seemed to be having a good time. This place will definitely be added to our regular rotation of restaurants! Can't wait to come back for the Po' Boys!

Blah blah blah. This ain't no Louisiana style restaurant. It's a self service just go get drinks and leave spot. The food comes out so fast you already know it's probably been sitting. You have to order and go retrieve your food yourself. Ordered a few things and nothing was memorable. I didn't take any pictures. It just wasn't worth it. Shrimp po boy BLAHGumbo VERY BLAHCatfish Meal ALRIGHTBlah blah won't be back

I saw Daisy's Po' Boy and Tavern on Tik Tok and I had to try it because I love me some New Orleans style food. Me and the mister decided that we would make it a day date. We arrived and was asked if we would like a seat at the bar or a table we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by the bartender and asked if we would like anything to drink and we ordered a soda and it was just a can soda didn't know that. We ordered the Catfish Plate which came with Fries and a Biscuit, Fried Shrimp Po Boy with Mayo and Lettuce, Roast Beef Po Boy with Mayo, Barbeque Gulf Shrimp Po Boy, Hot Honey Chicken Sliders and King Cake.I asked for Mayo only on the Roast Beef and Received it with everything on it. They did redo it. The Shrimp Po Boy was amazing. I did end up taking the Roast Beef Po Boy home as they had to redo it. The Catfish was seasoned to perfection. The mister enjoyed his Sandwich and sliders. The King cake was okay but I had better.Overall I would definitely try there again.

Came to this place on a Friday evening at about 9 PM. Because of the time that we arrived, we could only get takeout and sit in the reception area or outside. We weren't allowed to sit in the dining area as it was closing. Overall, very good experience when it came to the quality of food and the promptly getting our order. For food, we got the catfish Poboy and the Louisiana chicken sandwich with a side order of Cajun fries. I enjoyed my Louisiana chicken sandwich. It was spicy, and the ingredients were flavorful. My husband devoured his Poboy Catfish. I was impressed with the bread as that is a key ingredient for a Poboy. We were able to share the fries and they were plenty of them. I really wish I got a chance to try the red beans and rice but since we didn't have dedicated seating, I didn't want to be standing up and eating red beans and rice. They have the same establishment a little bit closer to where I live so I will be venturing to that location to try some more Louisiana food.

Been here quite a few times and it's good every single time. I was debating between two sandwiches and luckily it was happy hour so I got to try both of them as sliders so that was great! My friend got oysters and said they were good. Also, I've definitely ordered just the biscuits to go with pasta or something at home so a must try! I'm not a fan of their frozen drinks, but I tried a margarita this time and it was really good! The line can be pretty long, but they do move quickly and the staff is super kind anytime I've gone in. I love that someone is always right by the door to greet you.

This is my second time visiting, but it's the first time trying their food. I came on a Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. I always like to sit at the bar, the staff was so accommodating. I tried their oyster po'boy and I was so impressed! SinceI sat near the bar I could smell all the delicious smells & it was hypnotizing. I'll be back for sure to try the various things on their menu.

Stopped in this place and it was like stepping into New Orleans a little bit. The decor and details to the New Orleans inspiration is cute and done well.We ordered the charred oysters, friend green tomatoes, catfish plate, and alligator Po-Boy. The alligator po-boy was amazing!! The fish and tomatoes were fried great! The oysters were so yummy! Loved that the drinks were New Orleans inspired too!! The service was great!

The po'boys here are phenomenal! Everything else? Meh. We came late in the evening, within an hour of closing; while they weren't able to seat us to be served, we could order takeout and then seat ourselves outside or at the bar-like seating inside the restaurant. The service was friendly, accommodating, and pretty quick. I ordered a catfish po'boy, seasoned fries, and fried green tomatoes. The po'boy was really good - not one ingredient overpowered another, the catfish was seasoned well, and the bread was soft. The fries were a bit salty for my liking, and the breading on the fried green tomatoes was falling off and made it harder to eat. My husband also enjoyed his chicken po'boy, but could have passed on the buffalo shrimp (they leave the tail on, which doesn't make it the easiest to eat). Overall, I'm glad to have a delicious po'boy spot in the area!

Daisy's Po-Boy and Tavern is nestled on the corner of 52nd and Harper Avenue in Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois. Created by owner, Chef Erick Williams, the establishment has a few classic cajun and creole classics. It's Hyde Park, so parking is tight. Thankfully I went during the week where parking is a "little easier" to find - a few blocks away. When entering, you order and pay for your food and drinks first. After sitting, if you decide to order more food, you can pay via credit card at your table with staff. While there, I tried, the Catfish Po' Boy, Shrimp Po' Boy, Seafood Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, and the Banana Pecan Bourbon Toffee Cake. All were fabulous with a hearty serving amount. I definitely will visit again to try the fried chicken and biscuits.

I had such a weird experience here and was quite disappointed. I came here on a Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. to meet some colleagues after work for a happy hour. No one was standing at the host stand when I entered, and several of my colleagues were already seated at a table. It was pretty obvious that you were supposed to order at the counter, but we were waiting for our full group to arrive before doing so. I will note that the place is pretty spacious, and in addition to our group, there were like maybe seven other people there total, and at least 50 open seats, excluding the outdoor patio area. Despite this, an employee came over to our table and was all, "Just so you know, you are not supposed to sit down until after you order." I was all, "Ummm, okay good to know for next time, but we are still waiting for people to arrive." It was pretty rude, and I didn't notice any signs explicitly stating this policy, but whatever.A few minutes later, our entire group arrived. One of my colleagues took the full order for our table and went to the counter to place the order. After about 10 minutes, the employees brought drinks to everyone except for me and one of my friends. It took almost 40 minutes total (and three trips back to the counter asking where the heck our drinks were) for the last two drinks to actually make their way to our table. As I mentioned, the place only had a few other customers besides our group at the time, and there were a lot of staff working, so the wait time was absolutely ridiculous. No one even bothered to apologize for it. When we finally had our drinks, they were very good. The food was good, too: we had a selection of appetizers which were all good, and quite spicy (which I like but some people might not, and it really wasn't clear from the menu descriptions that everything was spicy, and some people in our group weren't thrilled about that). The employee who brought the food over had to be asked to bring appetizer plates to our table. They only gave us forks, no knives. Water was available via self-serve in this giant plastic barrel in the corner of the restaurant, which was close to empty and we literally had to take turns tilting the barrel for one another to help each other fill our glasses, which we saw other people struggling with as well. Not only is a giant plastic barrel probably not super sanitary, but you would think that some staff would notice people struggling and go refill the darn thing. Nope, didn't happen.Overall, this is a restaurant I have wanted to try for some time, but I likely won't ever return here of my own accord based on my bad experience here. Much can and should be improved, especially by way of service.
