This is an amazing, affordable grocery store in the South End area. I am able to get a whole weeks worth of groceries for less than $40, and I buy a lot of fresh veggies. I have never found cheaper prices at any where else, as they operate on a nonprofit model and get donations from other businesses. Some selection of the store always stays the same, such as the produce and frozen goods. Other selections are often changing, and there are often items that you would find in a more upscale Whole Foods-eque store. Granted, these items are often close to their expiration date but its an amazing opportunity to try different foods. Their selection includes fresh produce, fruit section frozen food (including prepared meals, frozen meats, frozen fruits), dairy isle, and the typical dried goods section. In the numerous times I have visited, the produce has mostly been fresh but there are a few times especially at the end of the day when there is only the less fresh options left. Often times, there is a small area by the checkout counter with a pile of free food that you can take. These foods are usually very ripened bananas, salads that expire, etc but I love that the store would give them to people rather than just tossing them.A tip about shopping here is to always check the expiration date on products! If you plan on freezing the items, it matters less but especially for the dairy I would suggest considering the date when purchasing. Overall, I love returning here every week for my grocery run and it is always fun to see what has changed in the store! I usually stop here, then at another grocery store to pick up any other items I was not able to get here.

This place is the best! Everything changes depending on the day and what has been donated, but they always have fresh fruit, frozen items, salad dressings, hummus, and some snacks. Everything is absurdly cheap and everything I have gotten there has been delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and can help you with anything you need.

They won't let you buy anything unless you give the cashier your phone number. I know some places ask for this for promotional purposes, but I've never had a place refuse to let me buy something even after I decline to provide the phone number.Oh well. I will never shop here. I'm not really into giving some creepy cashier my phone number. Oh, did I mention the creepy cashier? Don't give him your phone number, no matter how aggressively he asks for it. Because he'll demand it aggressively even after you say no. Will even give you a long speech about how they're a nonprofit.

I remember visiting this market at another location, and thought that it was pretty cool, but it was too far away for me to regularly visit. I love half price bananas as much as the next guy, but not when full price bananas are walking distance away.I then was pleasantly surprised to see a Daily Table location in Dudley square. I pass through there every day, so it is really easy for me to pick up some groceries on my way.So I dropped in to cruise the aisles. It looks like the staff gets to choose their own music, because they were playing early R&B when I visited the other day, and I was not even mad about it. The atmosphere is very low key and casual, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The store is pretty lightly stocked, so you can probably not do all of your shopping here. However snatch up what you can of what they do have. It is all dramatically cheaper than other groceries in the area. The only friction point I saw was when customers did not expect that the cashier will ask for their telephone number, and ZIP code. It seems to be a requirement for their nonprofit, and that is totally fine by me. You give up more information than that when you sign up for a discount card at other stores, and it is a small price to pay for discounted cereal, chicken ceasar wraps, bananas, and raw meats. But some people would rather argue, and walk out, which is really too bad.The store is fantastic. It does a valuable service in offering low cost food in low income areas, and preventing food waste at large retailers. The low pressure environment makes for a happier staff which leads to happier customers. Just give them your telephone number, and you can be one of them.

Me and my coworkers have been waiting for this place to open for decades, it feels -- and it was worth the wait! The Daily Table is everything I could have hoped for. The concept is that they sell food that is close to the expiration date at discount prices. The store itself is relatively small for a grocery store, but I was impressed by the selection of produce and the price points that they were able to offer it at. When Pigs Fly bread for $2 a loaf. Avocados for $1. 16oz of hummus for $2. Prepared foods at very low price points. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm eyeing them in the future as potential lunches. While they don't have everything you could want, you can probably do most of your shopping here. I myself am considering switching over from Stop and Shop. The discounts are there, and the quality is good.Come here!!

This is an extremely convenient spot being in Dudley Square. The store itself is small for a grocery store but the way the aisles are placed and products presented it feels very spacious. All the produce looks great and I have to give a special shout out to their prepared salads. They are delicious! Try the lemon parsley salad dressing. I really like this place.

Update, post-pandemic: in-store shopping only (no delivery/online orders) Best deals: $1.99 Little Leaf lettuce boxes (various types) less than half what they cost elsewhere. To-go food: the chicken dinners can be a bit hit or miss but are always a terrific value. If I don't like the sauce, or the rice is a bit dry, it's easy to rinse off and reheat. Great: beef chili, chicken salad with tiny bits of apple, split pea soup flavored with ham, tuna salad, salad bowls, slightly spicy butternut squash soup, and more. Right now they have loaves of whole grain Jessica's brand bread (sourdough, whole wheat, etc) for about two bucks instead of $5-6! Always a fun surprise on sale, 89cents packets of biscuits, 49cents packets of cereal, etc. Not always what I'm looking for but always something I'm happy to find. Fresh berries reasonably priced, peanut butter, bagels. (The only bad item: aluminum foil- it is so cheap for a very good reason) Staff has their days, some are very nice :)

I love shopping there. The produce is great and they have a great selection of items. The only problem I l have is when I go in there I come out with more items that I intended to purchase. I am very grateful to have that store in my community.
