A hidden gem in a small Korean plaza in federal way. They have a takeout counter and a small sit down area. You can also see the workers making the buns and dumplings through the glass counter. Their menu is small but you can tell they do their specialties well. I was craving cold noodles, so I ordered the spicy cold noodles and a mandoo, because you can't go to a place called "great big mandoo" without trying their mandoos lol.The potstickers were really good. The slight fry was crispy and a nice amount of chewy. The filling was flavorful as well. The big pork bun was also pretty good. I really liked the bun. The filling was somehow not as flavorful as the potstickers filling? Maybe just a different batch with slightly less salt. But they were filled generously. Cold noodles were pretty good! The spicy noodles weren't very spicy, had a bit of sweet flavor. Adding some vinegar made it even better. I like that they included fruit in the toppings which added some sweetness and freshness. My one complaint that it didn't quite hit the same as other cold noodles that I've had. I'm not sure what it was missing, but it just wasn't as refreshing and cool as other places I've tried. Additional notes! They provide a complimentary cup of beef broth which was sooo good. Water is also self service. Overall, solid place! I'd recommend it!!

This place is really hidden in Federal Way. It's in the less crowded/busy plazas and it's next to some sketch bars/massage parlors...But don't let that scare you away. I think this place is family owned because there was a little girl and boy working in there managing the register and sitting people down. While the grownups were cooking in the back and making steamed buns/Mandoo. Love small family businesses cause that is where you know you will get homecooked down to earth type of meals.I got the cold noodle soup (naengmyeon) and their kimchi pork king size mandoo which is basically a giant steamed bun. The cold noodles was so refreshing and they have the hot mustard and vinegar in squeeze sauce bottles at each table so you don't need to ask for it. The noodles came with a slice of beef, half an egg, and some sliced cucumbers and pear or apple. You also get 2 types of radishes/daikon on the side. The broth was a tad on the sweet end, I normally get the spicy version and this was my first time trying the non-spicy version so wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was still very good and a clean refreshing broth that would be great for when the weather gets hotter. The mandoo was so huge, I actually couldn't finish because the portions are big. It may not look like much, but they do give you a lot of noodles. So had to take the mandoo home, but was able to sneak in a bite. The filling was quite good and packed with flavor. So glad I stopped by.

Grabbed takeout from this well known dumpling/bun shop. Very modern and clean restaurant. Smaller establishment, so large parties be aware. Some of their noodle soup dishes looked amazing. I can only rate based on my takeout order which consisted of Fried Pork Mandu, Black Rice Bun, and Kimchi Pork Bun. They're known for the Black Rice Bun, but if I'm being honest, it's probably my least favorite of the three items I tried. It was salty yet sweet, which threw my taste buds off a bit. Nonetheless, the buns were all fresh and soft. The Fried Mandu was really tasty as was the Spicy Kimchi Pork Bun - they don't skimp on the filling at all. I'm definitely coming back to dine-in and try the noodle soups!

This place is like a family run/owned business that specializes in Mandu (steamed) and fried dumplings and also have soups and cold noodles. They have a little seating area in the back as well. Service here is great and they are very attentive and give a hefty amount of portions for banchan refills! They also serve you hot beef broth as a drink which is really tasty and flavorful, with free refills as well. I ordered the rice cake dumpling soup, this was pretty delicious, the dumplings were big and filled with flavor, and the soup had the perfect amount of flavor! We also ordered the kimchi dumplings to share which were delicious!!! I was super full by the end of the meal, and prices are reasonable in my opinion. I would come back all the time and support this place!!

Had a late lunch here and the place was pretty empty but the server was nice and the food came out quickly. They make the dumplings on the spot in the back! It was cold outside and they gave us some broth(?) in a cup to sip on while we waited which was pleasant. They play a lot of kpop :) People frequently came in and out to order to go at the window, so definitely a well loved spot! While the menu is small, I ended up ordering three different kinds of dumplings. The pork steamed bun (they call it a king dumpling) was so fresh and warm. The filling was heavy on the onions which I did not expect but nevertheless tasty. The kimchi pork fried dumplings were well fried but quickly lost their crunch so next time would eat them faster :) The soup was not too special, and the broth was very light and the rice cakes leaning on overly soft after soaking. The dumplings in the soup were a bit hard to eat due to their size and kept falling apart. The biggest plus was the hefty portion size :)Pricewise, it was not particularly expensive and an overall fair price. For next time, the dumplings definitely seem to be the star of the show!

DaeBak Wang Mandoo is hands down my favorite Korean mandoo spot in the Pacific Northwest, and I keep coming back for more! This marks my third visit, and the experience has been consistently delightful. The kimchi pork mandoo is an absolute winner, always juicy and bursting with flavor, with just the right amount of spice kick to keep things exciting. For dessert, the Black rice bun is a must-try, filled with delectable red bean paste, making it a delightful sweet treat.I've experienced both their sit-down service and ordered to-go at the counter, and either way, the quality and taste remain outstanding. The owner's warm and friendly demeanor adds to the overall positive experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back for more.

DaeBak Wang Mandoo is delicious - quick, friendly, excellent service, walked in and they gave us two cups of broth - it was soooo delicious, warm and savory - makes us happy - restaurant is clean, minimal, bright - with small tables, very welcoming. We ordered spicy cold noodles, dumpling soup, pork dumplings and kimchee pork dumplings - everything was delicious. The spicy cold noodles are not spicy - maybe 1-2 stars but lots of flavor and the right chew and stretchy texture - we love the broth and dumplings in the soup, it's comfort food that makes your heart warm. The pork dumplings are huge! One was filled with minced pork and veggies the other one is kimchee and pork - both are Huge and tasty.
