My boyfriend and I met up with our good friends and their toddler. My friend is Korean and took care of ordering for all of us and it was pure perfection. I just love when there's someone in the group that takes charge of ordering because they know exactly what needs to be done and you trust them blindly. This is what happened on this day. This place is incredibly kid friendly, there were so many families with small kids, teens, and everyone was just enjoying themselves. Spacious and well lit. It was delicious and it all felt so healthy, haha. My friend ordered this tower of Kloud beer mixed with Soju - never had it before and the pairing with the food, it went so well. Refreshing and crisp. One thing I would have liked is maybe some seafood to go along with the feast. Servers come to the tables and set it all up for you, it doesn't get smoky or super hot like in hot pot places for example. They check on your food and take care of the cooking really. Service was quick and easy. The amount of sides and sauces to go with your proteins, just endless. I wish I could tell you what my friend ordered for us but I don't. I sat there and ate everything in front of me.

Daebak opened in Wicker Park on Milwaukee near Division (second location in Chicago) about a month ago! I came here with a party of four for an early Father's Day dinner. Easily made reservations online, but we came early enough that the restaurant wasn't crowded yet so we had our choice of seating. I asked for a table with chairs with backs so my party could be more comfortable (the seating along the sides are bench/padded stools. We were warmly welcomed and ordered their premium beef combo with their spicy chicken stew. This package came with purple rice, a few extra bonchon (sides), and a massive stew over a portable gas grill. I was not expecting the stew to be so massive! Their bonchon was delicious and we were able to get refills on our favorites. The meat was so tender and flavorful & cooked for us table side. I loved the fluffy egg and grilled garlic and onions that came with. The chicken stew was perfectly spicy, but be mindful of the small bits and pieces (may contain bones) because the stew has been stewing.Overall, great lively atmosphere with screens playing kpop all around. The set up is very modern and clean. The large garage windows make the space feel very open and not overly crowded despite how many tables there are inside. Love this new addition to the neighborhood. Would love to come here again!

Large space with plenty of seating. Parking might be challenging.Service was full service table side grilling. Our server was very attentive and attuned to our needs. While great, this level cannot be expected to continue when the restaurant gets busier. The food combos offered a decent variety of meats and side dishes. However, quality of the meats varied so selecting specific cuts and entrees is the veteran move.

Perfect choice for a large group dinner. Great high quality meats and banchan, a nice open and airy space, and some soju to wash it all down. All for a very reasonable price. We'll be back!

We wanted a break from eating at ayce Korean restaurants so we decided to give this place a try. While the price is a bit higher, depending on what package you select, the meat seemed of better quality. We chose the small gold Wicker Park Combo package which came with thinly sliced brisket, kalbi, pork belly and pork collar. The banchans were plentiful, and the pork-kimchi soup that came with our package was flavorful and spicy. I liked how the grill has side compartments to cook the cheesy corn, egg soufle, and onions & mushrooms. Service was attentive and the place wasn't very busy. One star deducted for the fact that they charge you for any extra banchan you want to order, $1.50 each and $3 for extra rice. I have never been to any Korean place, ayce or not, that charged for extra banchan. Your price point is already high, and to charge for someone that just wants some more kimchi seems absolutely crazy to me. I mean give people at least one extra round for free and then start charging, but c'mon. We were only a table of two, but it really could add up in extra charges if you have a larger party.

Service was very friendly and quick! They frequently stopped by to adjust the grill and cook the meat for us. We were a group of 4 and we ordered the beef combo 2 - gold package. It was just the right amount of food. Some of the meat seemed like it should've been marinated longer, but overall we enjoyed our meal!

Daebak is a great KBBQ spot located right across from iron age! Everything was very clean and no wait on a Tuesday night. The music levels were not too loud and they played some kpop music videos and switched to a basketball game. Note that this is NOT all you can eat, you select from certain combos. I enjoyed the vast selection of banchan. I opted for the small gold wicker park combo since it included the potato salad, squash, and soup. Gold also includes an upgrade to purple rice. I appreciate that the server cooks the meat for you. Our server José was friendly and professional. When side dishes run out you can request additional side dishes at no additional charge. The group enjoyed the green onion salad, my favorite was the squash and sweet potato. The onions on the side get really delicious when cooked in the meat juices. The marinated pork was really tender and juicy. The small combo was sufficient for our group of 4 with room for dessert. I appreciated that we were not rushed to leave our table after the meat was done grilling.

Amazing kbbq and atmosphere. Reminiscent of classic LA ktown kbbq restaurants. Highly recommend to all for high quality meat and service
