Dad's Diner A Go-Go

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is made from scratch. Like down to the bacon. Be prepared to eat and move, this isn't a lingering experience, but while you are here the service is great and the food is exceptional.

I had a hankering for a bowl of old-fashion ground beef chili (no beans please) and that is just what I got with a couple of corn muffins. We drove right by it initially as it is just an old, permanently parked trailer in a big gravel driveway. Ate at one of the two picnic tables and the spouse got two really except vegetable sides cooked up fresh (a broccolini dish and a squash/pumpkin seed melange). Had a nice chat with the owner (I assume) and pit master about points and flats. Lots more on the menu to try next time (and the next after that).

Hmmmmm. Was feeling it at @dadsdineragogo This weekend. I don't know who dad is, but if he was my dad I'd still be living at home. This place makes meals like you earned it. The Breakfast burger was ridiculous. I felt like I should have thanked it for sitting with us or asked it for its autograph. This spot is a must if you are in Anacortes. Service is top notch and the food is stellar.

While camping at Deception State Park recently, we spent an afternoon strolling through Anacortes and landed here for a quick lunch. Don't be confused, as there's a brick & mortar version as well.The truck was parked in a small parking lot on Commercial and you could smell the BBQ as you approached. We were starving and decided to share the 3 protein platter, which ended up being a tremendous amount of food for 2 people!We slathered all the meats with sauce and dug in! The brisket and the pulled pork were perfect, but we found the ribs to be quite tough and dry. They just didn't have that 'fall off the bone' quality you want in a smoked rib. The mac & cheese was awesome, but the smoked potato was also kinda boring. It was literally just a smoked version of a baked potato with some sour cream. I'd pass on it next time.Overall, the portion size was fantastic, given the price point, and hubs and I were both stuffed after lunch.

Got the Texas bbq sandwich I guess. Smokey flavor was good and I liked the horseradish sauce combination. Besides that the brisket was very dry and thick cut. Just tastes like a dry roast beef sandwich. I'd try this bbq truck again but I'd select a different meal.

What a charming spot to grab a delicious healthy meal on my way to the ferry terminal. The avocado toast is now the gold standard for me.It was a busy Friday morning, but Fletcher was steadfast and easy going.We got avocado toast, which was absolutely amazing. Photo for proof. I will definitely be making this stop every time I catch a ferry to the San Juans.

Really solid bbq. Good variety of meats, friendly service. No tables, just a trailer and an impressive custom smoker.
