Best chicken salad salad around! If you're looking for gluten free options, get some from the refrigerated case (all varieties are gluten free and Cole slaw is too). It's prepared separately in the back.I've also had them make their sandwiches without the bread (on wax paper) and it's a great option. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and willing to help!

I have been buying chicken salad subs there for 40 years... subs inconsistent now depending on who makes them. One time it had plenty of chicken. Next time bare minimum for 9.50!large sub. I got another one this week and sub roll looks smaller and very little chicken in it. I am done. Quality control sucks there now. Roches down street has as good or better chicken salad and buy 1/4 lb and a roll 1/3 price of this under filled roll. Lamberts deli also good subs with full ingredients.

Why I'll go back: well, yes, the chicken salad, of course...but I rarely walk out with just thatYou HAVE to order: the potato salad (if uber creamy is your thing)Tony's Tip: parking is out front on both sides of a busy street with cars routinely whizzing by. Be careful opening your car door and pulling away or doing a u-turn.To each his own. D&G's reputation is well-established at this point, but not everyone likes their take on chicken salad. For me, it is about as classic as it gets - chunks of white meat chicken and mayo. That's about it. With that foundation, you can go in a million different directions: chicken salad on crackers, a chicken salad sandwich on an onion roll (yes, they sell those), throw in walnuts one day, grapes or cranberries another day, pair it with barbecue chips, or salt & vinegar chips, or even Fritos. Whatever mood you're in, you can customize D&G's chicken salad to your whim. But if you're gonna make a trip all the way out to Norwood for chicken salad, don't leave with one empty hand. Grab a six-pack of fresh onion rolls to jazz up your sandwich a bit. Or throw in a side of potato salad. As heavy on the mayo as the chicken salad is, the potato salad comes slathered in sour cream. Again, not for everyone, but I am a sucker for full-on dairy fat (that includes light cream in my coffee, and yes, I know mayo isn't technically dairy, but you get my point). Don't want the rolls? Don't like sour cream? D&G also sells Wunderbar German bologna. You don't know Wunderbar? It is my favorite - scratch that - it is the ONLY bologna I will buy. Unlike beef bologna, Wunderbar has a subtle sweetness that I absolutely crave and many supermarkets don't carry it. But D&G does.I've only scratched the surface of what's available at D&G. So go get yourself a pint of chicken salad, but make sure not to walk out with an empty hand!

Maybe the chicken salad everyone has been raving about is good but the steak and cheese is disgusting. First off the steak tasted more like ground beef or a nasty meatball or something along those lines. Second the bread was incredibly soggy and pretty much inedible.I don't leave many reviews and the vast majority of them are positive so it hurts me to leave a negative review for a small business like this but I was thoroughly dissatisfied with my food.

Long overdue review. My husband grew up in Norwood and wanted to show me the "best chicken salad place" that he knew. Whoa! He was right, they're perfect! Anytime we are even close to Norwood, we go out of our way to swoop in and grab some sandwiches. The owner is wicked nice and cares about his customers too! I was having a rough day recently, and REALLY NEEDED a D&G chicken salad sandwich.. I wasn't even thinking about what time it was, and when we arrived at D&G, we discovered it had closed 3 minutes before we got there. I had a really dramatic meltdown in the car, and somehow the owner saw this. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a friendly guy waving me in; was the owner! He hooked me up with a sandwich and TRULY saved the day. Thanks D&G! See ya soon!

The chicken salad is the best chicken salad in the world. I don't think it can be replicated at home. The guys will make a sub or you can buy a tub of the chicken salad and take it home to make sandwiches. Buffalo chicken salad is also too notch. They have good chip selection. Very friendly service. No frills.

Excellent sandwiches. I highly recommend the Italian with everything. They have awesome potato and macaroni salad in the fridges to go. Could be the best around. The service is always great. Our kids especially love it.

This hidden gem is in a small building in a predominantly residential neighborhood, the food was good but not great. Their chicken salad was advertised as Bostons best and it was ok, but I've had better at Victorias subs on the Hingham-Hull line. Rather it's worth giving it a try

This is a townie spot. It's basically for people with under developed taste buds or people whose taste buds have been scorched by alcohol and cigarettes. Woof
