Very charming little distillery just off of Hwy 2 in Sultan, run by a delightful couple. We practically stumbled into the cozy tasting room by spying the distillery's curbside A-board. The cozy tasting room reflects the long and varied history of the building; once the telegraph office, formerly the post office and so on. Mrs. "Curtson" gave us the full run down. Several tempting bottles were on display and I was drawn to a very intriguing offering: whiskey made from bad beer acquired from local brewers. A win-win-win for the distillery, the brewers who don't need to dispose of the beer and for me. The whiskey has a slight nose of beer and yeast and a wonderful presence on the palette. A little spendier than big-brand stuff at the grocery store and worth every penny! Both Mr. and Mrs. Curtson (the distillery name is an amalgam of their last names) were just as gracious as could be.

A group of us stopped into Curtson to see what they were all about.Free street parking is available. Discover is an accepted form of payment.Curston distills small batches of whiskey. On our visit there were two flavors available: Northwest Umber ($37) and Malted Umber ($45). Tastings were free. The Curston team are enthusiastic, innovative, passionate and proud of their dream. It was exciting to listen to all their upcoming plans, such as pairing with local establishments. My wife and I purchased a 750ml of Malted Umber for $45 to enjoy at home. I look forward to returning in the future as more pieces of their dream come to fruition.

Phenomenal little distillery. The owners are super accommodating and eager to tell you about their product. When we stopped by they showed us around, told us about the distilling process, and let us try basically everything they make. The bourbon and scotch are both very unique and drinkable. Not superb traditional, but that's what makes it special. Hearing about what they're trying to do was really fun. The bottles ARE NOT too expensive as said below. If you go to any small distillery the prices are competitive. But considering that many of the spirits are cask strength, they're cheap.

We were waiting for a hamburger joint to open up and decided to go for a walk. This quaint little distillery caught our eye and since we had time, decided to do the free tasting. I don't drink whiskey but took a few sips. It tasted different from other whiskeys I've tried in the past. My husband loved the other bottles but the bourbon's uniqueness made me decide to buy a bottle for me and one for my sister. When I got home, I tried another tiny glass and now I'm hooked. This place is like being home. You can see and feel the love and passion Melinda and Robert have for their product. They both make you feel so welcome that when we went back for more bourbon, we stayed until 7:30 pm (they close at 7). The Curtson coffee, the godfather and the old fashioned was equally incredible. Thank you both for your hospitality. We'll be back for sure. Hugs to you both
