I ordered to go from cumin club as I was craving palak paneer one day. The palak paneer bowl came in with some rice, palak paneer and mixed salad. To be honest, the website description said it would come with roti and rice. It was definitely misleading. The palak paneer was mid at best. The curry tasted a little off, almost like it was missing an important spice. The salad taste stale. The rice was tasty but I would have really preferred basmati. Overall, the bowl was average at best. I don't think I will order again.

2 stars for the Cumin Club Indian Kitchen restaurant in Chicago. We had the Paneer Curry and a Lentil/Spinach Curry - the food itself is just OKAY. We weren't really that impressed as there wasn't really any spice to the food and the portion of curry was small while they give you a ton of rice. The main thing I didn't like was that they automatically include a 20% tip for themselves in every order even for take out which is totally ridiculous, this is Indian fast food not even a nice dine in restaurant so a tip wouldn't even make sense to me here. Even if you order a bottle of water - mandatory tip is still required. I don't think I will return, there are much better Indian restaurants in Chicago.

I came in during lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty. I spoke with Geo, who was so friendly and extremely enthusiastic about the food he was serving. I played it safe and ordered the chicken tikka masala with a mango lassi. It came in a cute container with the curry, rice, and some fresh tomato salsa/salad? Despite being Indian fast food, this was some of the BEST Indian food I ever had. The curry was extremely flavorful with a great kick of spice although a bit on the salty side, the rice was fluffy, and the salsa was so fresh - I wish there was more. The mango lassi was creamy and did perfectly at cutting through the heat of the curry. I loved the food here and would love to come back to try their other fun options. Great service and amazing food.

I went here for a quick dinner to get a naanza, which is a naan pizza that I opted to get chicken tikka masala as the topping. Turnaround time was fairly quick (10 minutes), and you get a nice, piping hot pizza to enjoy in-store or to-go. I opted to eat in person, but you have to ask for utensils as they do not provide them to you by default. They don't even have a knife so you kind of have to eat it as a whole which kind of dampens the dining experience. Otherwise, the food is fairly solid, though the chicken could be a bit more tender and the sauce be a bit less salty. Overall, this place is worth a try, especially if you work in the area and in a rush for a decent meal on the go.

About what you'd expect from a fast-casual Indian place. I got a plant based curry and the flavor was pretty mild (even by safe-for-white-people standards). Not sure what kind of plant protein they're using but it was very tough, almost like overcooked steak. If it was cheaper I might still stop by for a quick lunch, but it's pretty much on par with a full Indian restaurant which kinda defeats the purpose.

There seems to be a trend of Indian fusion Restaurants popping up all over Chicago. The Cumin Club is one that has opened up inside the Kitchen United Mix just outside The Loop. This restaurant is a bit different from the other Indian fusion spots I have visited, and for some great reasons. First, they have an interesting concept on how to order their entrees. You order similar to a Chipolte or a Subway. First you choose the type of entree (bowl, Indian pizza, etc.), then you choose your protein or veggie and finally you choose your sauce. They have a wide variety of sauces at all different spice levels. I end up getting one that mild and that was spicy, and I liked them both. Second, I loved their food. On a recent trip, I ordered lamb cumin rice bowl, naanza (Indian pizza) with chicken and tikka masala sauce, samosa smash, fully loaded tikka fries, mango lassi and a mango milkshake. Everything was super flavorful. My favorites were the naanza and the lamb cumin rice bowl. I also felt the Indian flavors were spot on. Third, the service is friendly and food come our super fast. This a perfect spot for grab a quick lunch. From order to my mouth, it was super fast. In sum, if your work in the Loop, River North or close by this a perfect lunch spot.

I've been here twice since moving to town, and I plan on being back soon. My family and I stopped in between unpacking and moving boxes for a late lunch on 7/28. There were plenty of options for all of us, but as a vegetarian I was quite pleased that I didn't have to choose the usual one item that works for my diet. There were several combinations and options available for me between eggs, vegetables, paneer, and different curries and stews. I got the Malabar Korma with paneer both times and found it to be well seasoned and spiced. The kachumber salad that came on the side was well seasoned and refreshing. My family ordered other menu items and enjoyed them as well. Aside from the food, the biggest take away was how kind the employees were. The man working behind the counter on the 28th was very kind and helpful. He made sure to check on guests who stayed to sit and eat. He asked how everyone liked their meals and if anyone needed anything. My mother joked about her low spice tolerance, and he offered her a sample of the badam milk to help with the spice. The ladies working the counter on my second visit were also kind and greeted us/said goodbye. I haven't tried much Indian food around town, but the customer service alone will keep me coming back.

I had the cauliflower bowl with tikka served with some rice and salad. I really liked the cauliflower. The tikka sauce isn't the best I've had but still pretty good! The food came out quick, so bonus points for that! Overall, a good option for quick Indian lunch/dinner!

Food was delicious, really good flavors. The chicken tikka naanza was fire! The service and staff was really good. There is a like a Small food hall with a bar. I got a beer with the naanza. Definitely coming back!

I love this food! Can get authentic Tikka but have started getting the Naanza. And I love the paratha roll, which is like a NYC Kati roll! Must eat.
